sounds ok to me. that is the noise of high pressure direct injection. Older petrol engines used low pressure indirect injection and those were quieter.
Today 21/4/2022 my skoda 1.5 tsi 150 dsg started to sound like this. 18 degrees outside, it’s not cold. It didn’t sound like this in the cold winter we had.
@@dobrien757 it was air conditioning compressor that failed. You could clearly hrar it when you switch on and off the air cond. But yes my first tought was the engine oil level which btw was low.
Change the oil to 0-w40 will do a lot better in the cold. I had same noise, changed the oil type to Mobil 1 0-w40 and the tappers and noise went straight away.
@@leonbooth7543 that could be something else. I'm my circumstances an oil change to a different viscosity of oil 0-30 resulted in 90% of this noise going from the engine. I have probably done about another 60,000 miles after my initial comment without it returning border I sold the vehicle (regret it to this day).
@@J_D_Adama it has the exact same noise as this. Going in for a diagnostic tomorrow. Was worried it could be timing chain but it’s only 30k lol. Hopefully just an oil change then will cure it
It’s belt driven my car start doing same noise after change of timing belt and water pump. Soon i will re-do them. But my car on a 28C degrees is doing same noise... i have Rapid 2017! Never ever again skoda or specially 1.4 - shit total shit

They are good cars, as long as you take care of them, if you dont take care of these cars you might end up with your engine getting replaced like my MK7 1.4 tsi

That’s direct injection+high fuel pump sound, normal when cold...

Problem on my A4 1.4 Tfsi. Really annoying. So changing oil will cure sound in winter??
@@leonbooth7543 worked for me. Combination of frequent oil changes and different oil viscosity.
@@J_D_Adama it’s when you rev it a low revs what annoys. Sounds like something is vibrating did this go away then?

From what I've read on forums, it may be the timing chain... Hope it gives you another perspective on the subject.
Looks belt driven

What is the epc light in the dashboard mean?

Did you fix this issue, mine sounds the same.. :-(
It's not an issue. My mother's Golf 1.4 TSi does the same thing. Normal for these engines, especially from cold.
