I bought the new Octavia five months ago, same engline as the video but the sedan model, style edition. I like it very much, it's my first brand new car. Solid car, very comfortable. Small complains about the air condition controls being inside the screen only, I'd prefer separate buttons for easier access, like those in the Kodiac. I can't really test the top speed because our roads here in the island of Crete are not so great and our speed limit quite low.
This Octavia will be legendary! Future classic mark my word! Skoda with this model has moved to a premium car segment in the price range. The quality of the materials are the same and in some as aspects even better than VW Golf. Kudos to Skoda.
See the comparisons and reviews by well established journalists, you will see that they like it more than the equivalent Gold Mk8, a platform that the Octavia is based. Hence the good sales on all markets. Skoda cannot keep up with the demand! That says a lot. Like it or not. Currently it is the most sort after vehicle in Europe. Check the statistics.
@@gamenuts6296 Lol, where do you get that from? It is the same car in terms of quality but with a new, fresh design. They just put the price higher, because of the good image that Skoda and VAG still have. This image will drop in years. but, by then their profit will be well made.

We don't have a top speed, but we have a recommended speed of 130 km/h. This means that in the event of an accident at more than 130 km/h, you are partially responsible.
I agree with this opinion. We can here a lot of noise, wind and ever rattling sound. I had Octavia IV 2.0TDI from Skoda dealer for a test drive. It was too loud inside (tire noise and suspension noise).
Skoda cars are getting bigger, and their engines smaller and cheaper. The illusion that you got a lot of car for your money, when actually you got plastic piece of junk.
So, you wanna pay for 2.5 litre engines without fuel economy and dynamic worse than that? Ok, you can buy a Kia k5 with real 173hp and you will spend 10-12 l/100km And I don’t understand, why tsi engines is cheaper? Why do you think so?
@@ЗЕТИКСОВИЧ First things first. Small engines and big turbo equals to short engine/engine components life. Period and full stop right there. Moving on to next. What manufacturer claims on paper is entirely different from what it is in real life. It's called marketing. Driving with average dynamics city/motorway with small turbo engine vs 2.0/2.5 NA engines gives absolutely the same fuel economy. However, engine resource and reliability is of another level.
Eleonik 76 So if you worked with tsi engines you d know that it has a small turbos! That’s why it has a good dynamic without turbo lags gen 3 ea211 1.4 tsi can reach 250-300k km without overhaul. And that is a perfect engineering Ea888 gen 3 1.8 180hp can produce 2x more hp with is20 or with is38 and in the same time reach more than 150k km without any problems
@@eleonik76 it's not true. Turbo is very small. 150 HP with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine is nothing special these days, it's only 100 HP from a liter of capacity. The fuel economy, however, is huge. About 5 liters per 100 km when driving on normal roads, 6-7 when driving on the highway. The 2-cylinder mode can operate even at a uniform speed of 120 km / h, which gives fuel consumption of 5 liters per 100 km. The dynamics is very good when you are above 1500 rpm, you press the gas and the car accelerates smoothly without hesitating. These are parameters that the older 2.0-liter engines cannot even come close to. For me, the durability of 250-300k km is sufficient, of course, when you buy a new car.
