  • A judge sentenced Illinois man Bradley Yohn to 130 years in prison for carjacking, kidnapping, and sexually assaulting a 77-year-old woman during a home invasion in November 2021. Yohn represented himself during the trial - and a jury swiftly convicted him of the charges. While the judge was issuing his sentence, Yohn interrupted the judge several times making comments about “evidence” in the case. “Do not speak, Mr. Yohn,” the judge repeated multiple times.

Europe seems to get along just fine incarcerating a fraction per capita compared with the US; doing so with humanity, but there's a demographic variable or two here they don't deal with.
With 4% of the world's population and 25% of its prisoners and still featuring a higher crime rate than other developed nations, something is terribly wrong in America.
We need to address the cultural and other systemic issues instead of locking even more people up.
I understand that some folk need to be kept off the streets, but a prison nation isn't a palatable solution.

His true colors finally appear when it's all over. His thoughts must have been... "nothing to lose now regardless of what I says". The judge was right on point when he admonished this evil monster. I hope he has a 'nice stay' in prison for the rest of his miserable life!

Esp that wink and mouthing the words "i'll be back" to whoever it was in the background. I know it's messy but can't we just put people like this straight in a wood chipper?

@15:52 did they actually let him get away with calling a member of the courtroom staff the c-word? That should have gotten him ejected from the courtroom and a contempt charge right there! They should never have to put up with anyone disrespecting them on the job.

He should have gotten ejected from the courtroom, but a contempt charge wouldn't do any good. he couldn't get a bigger sentence he's going to be in prison for 137 years!
