Generally aggrieved pity party, that was the defence. No specifics, all insinuations. All about him too. Nothing about TL and what she went through. He called her "that woman" in his closing. So yeah, you didn't miss it, it wasn't there, neither in intelligence nor in addressing the evidence.

In somewhat more benighted times, people talked about "criminal characters", but they were usually just dressing up their idiotic and racist beliefs.
For that reason I've always rejected the concept of criminal personalities or characters.
However, what with a number of societal changes - police body cams, streaming on social media, and eventually Covid putting so many court cases, big and small, online - I've come round to the idea.
Because, rich or poor, male or female, smart or stupid, I do keep seeing the same personality. Some cases are much milder, some, like this, just obscene, yet the resemblance is undeniable.
They all are profoundly able to disregard reality, to always ALWAYS believe themselves to be the victim. They ALWAYS say prosecutors, police and judges are corrupt and out to get them. Today was the first day of the Trump Org. fraud trial, and Trump said EXACTLY these same things, just as Darrell Brooks, and this pos, and all the people at traffic stops who scream abuse at officers, and say "do you know who I am."
And you know what...maybe we shouldn't be so surprised that Yohn is astonished he's being held accountable and that the jury didn't believe him. Clearly the country is full of people who feel that way about all their own crimes, big and small, just as so much of the US voting public believes all the nonsense Trump says, so why shouldn't they believe Yohn.

@@bumblebaa2327 Nobody wants to be a cop - the job is too scrutinized/politicized to the detriment of cops and the public. Most non-lethal techniques are now illegal, so cops just end up shooting instead. Why not? The media demonizes them if they try to physically detain someone anyway, so the departments make it illegal, so now they just shoot instead. Blame it all on the lying media and the stupid people who chime in and have no idea what they're talking about and we end up in a worse situation than before for everybody.
