I was pregnant at the time and when I went to the ER I had a brain scan that showed brain swelling. Police still wouldn't press charges and I was denied a restraining order from the man who did it.
"This is why women don't report abuse" is so spot on. No one believes you. The cop gave me a paper to fill out and take to the courthouse "If I wanted to press charges". Disgusting.

NEVER EVER EVER let anyone take you to another location. If they try to get you to go with them, go down kicking and screaming to your last breath. I promise you, if you comply, things will only be worse. Better to fight to the death than be raped, tortured - possibly for weeks or more - just to be eventually dumped in the woods. I'd say if the kidnappers are aggressive and experienced enough and are being paid a lot to do the crime, no amount of saying "no" and refusing to cooperate with them would make much difference.
