It’s become a bit of a joke with my family and I- with extremely religious people in our church. Anytime a MINOR inconvenience- a NOTHING most times- occurs, we immediately giggle and say, “oh. I know kids and animals are not the same but it is hard to hear her talk about unconditional love when she has neglected and forgotten quite a few pets. And she doesn't have the decency to not post the foster children all over the internet anyway she possibly can. 🙄
I LOVE that you called out the "saved from this addiction" line. Sure, God might "save" someone from an addiction to coffee, but I get so tired of people saying super "christiany" sounding phrases like that, why not just say you decided not to drink coffee for a while? Why make it so religious? And I am a Christian, and I still get tired of it. Also on the point of modesty, that is exactly why purity/modesty culture is so disgusting to me now, because someone like her can go on and on about how important it is, but then live the way she does, bottom line, there is no "modesty" standard we could ever reach, it is a bogus system designed just to f with us. She can say she is "modest" now, but I could easily say she isn't (how many schools have had issues with leggings...) because it is just a rigged game where we all lose but the self righteous side of ourselves feels like we are willing, as long as we can identify ourselves as "modest"

I find her "suing the internet" spiel so funny. I completely understand that cyberbullying really IS a problem, however, what she calls 'cyberbullying' is really people holding her accountable for alleged scams and terrible actions.

I feel like she’s borderline trying to make fitness and nutrition content again. She actually did this after everything came out about her. I noticed that she was posting workout videos and trying to get people to message her for her glute routine. I was shocked. I totally remember her apology video. I used to follow her when she was a fit influencer. I’m a certified nutritionist and personal trainer and in my opinion her nutrition advise was not great and borderline damaging. I’m a Christian and I find her behavior to
be very problematic and hypocritical. I also don’t know why she is being given foster kids if she’s claiming she’s receiving death threats. I wish we knew when her trial would actually start. I hope all these women got their money back.
I’m Jewish, so I’m sorry if I’m wildly swerving out of my lane here.
But I have a lot of Christian friends who I’ve had conversations with about their beliefs. From what I understand, the consensus in Christianity is that Jesus forgives sins, but that doesn’t mean you get to just walk away from any and all consequences. It just means you won’t go to hell for them. You still are supposed to make things right on earth when you mess up. (Please, correct me if I’m wrong, Christians. I welcome education.)
So that’s what bugs me about Brittany’s Christian content. The implication of her message is that since she’s been forgiven by Jesus, that means what she did in the past is no big deal now- when in fact, she genuinely hurt and LIED TO a lot of people! You can’t just say, “Well, Jesus forgives me and that’s all that matters” in a situation like this. You can’t just post an apology video and be done with it. You have to *make things right* by *giving back what you took from them.*
This is a very dangerous message to be putting out as a Christian influencer. Not only is she encouraging other young Christian women to have this attitude, but she is actively allowing your guys’ religion to be abused and used by people who do not want to accept accountability for their actions. And those people will hide behind the whole “Jesus forgives me” reasoning as a post-hoc justification of bad behavior. As if Christianity doesn’t already have enough people out there who give my Christian friends yet another reason to sigh and go, “Dang it, now I have to explain why we aren’t all like this… AGAIN.”
I don’t particularly like Brittany, but I feel for her. She is so scared of facing reality that she is accidentally hurting the most precious thing in her life: her faith. That’s really sad to think about. It’s like she’s self-destructing.
You are right about the idea of what it means when Jesus forgives. But what a lot of people forget is he forgives when you TRULY repent as he can read your heart and knows if it is genuine or not. When you ask for forgiveness you try your best to do better while here on earth. We all mess up but the point is recognizing that and to sincerely apologize and really try to do better each time you fall.
Yes, you're correct, accepting consequences of your actions is a crucial part of a Christian life. To not accept consequences is to take the grace of God and the suffering Jesus bore on the cross for granted. It's so frustrating that a lot of Christian content creators act like rules don't apply to them.

Many people under the “Christian” umbrella term use the “Christian” term in so many ways, wrongly in that matter. (compared to the good ways of being Christian) I live in Oklahoma, and this is a very wide thing whilst in the “Bible Belt.” It is sad. We do have some BD’s running around here doing the same BD’ things and it is gross.
I have mentioned that this gal is very an “I” person and narcissistic. It is altogether cringey to watch this woman do this. I also follow another influencer who does workout how to’s and life updates.. Jen Heward. She’s entertaining.

As Catholics though, we can go and confess our sins to a priest who is that one person on earth that is our pipeline to Jesus, therefore God and be absolved after a few Hail Marys before you leave. I don't see Jesus in these types of Christians because it's really all fake BS and so insanely rigid in beliefs yet they don't know Jesus they know their so called pastors versions of Him and again, God.
I can't help but be suspicious of her motives. Her miscarriage video has oner 20 million views & funnily enough the first episode of her podcast is about the miscarriage. Pain and heartache sells. As one of the many, many, many women who have experienced the pain of miscarriage I find it disturbing that she is using it to make $$$$$$ under the guise of raising awareness. I THINK the stats are that it happens to 1 in 4 women - the awareness is already out there but the majority of us don't use it for "poor me" content.
Her little speech about everything already being done and nailed to the cross - I think she started that thinking about her trial. Then she realized she didn’t want to say that, so she subbed in her career, marriage, etc. , without thinking about what she had already said and how it would sound. That was the impression I got, anyway. When she first started talking, it definitely sounded like she was thinking about the trial. Then she just kind of fizzled out and wrapped it up, saying anything but the trial. That’s just my opinion.
I love your work. You can dissect what is being said and analyse it from multiple dimensions/angles, the intent and how it comes across. I love that.
There are things Brittany says that I feel something doesn’t add up but cannot put my finger on what it is. You hit the nail on the head every time.

The reason she is not talking about the trial is likely because her lawyers told her not to because it can be used against her in the trial. Not talking during a trial is highly advised for everyone being prosecuted.

My judgmental thoughts on her foster journey is that she would much rather be pregnant herself, so if it doesn't work out she is leaving her "options open" to something more permanent and can practice being a mom in the short term.
I would also be interested to know what her definition of "bullying" is - people calling you out on being dodgy and taking peoples money is NOT bullying. She deserves to be called out. God may forgive her sins but she has done serious damage to real people with her dodginess & if you do things like that to people you WILL get haters

this is what i've always thought too. also, her complaining about being stalked and harassed and feeling afraid at home when it suits her but then how does that make for a safe home for a vulnerable foster child? she can't have it both ways but she WANTS it to be that whatever fits her need at the moment is the truth. except, that's not how truth works lol.

Stevia is a sweet leaf, literally a plant. Yes, it’s processed but is someone wants a sub for sugar because you need to control your insulin it’s a really nice substitute bc we understand how your body processes it and it won’t hurt your stomach like sugar alcohol. You can’t get addicted to it.
Also, the idea that someone believes there is a creator that is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipowerful and that is used for them to stop drinking caffeine while they’re taking foster children into their home. What kind of twisty narrative do you have to have to say a God that uses that Omni power and omniscience for your caffeine instead of a parents poverty (bc the large majority of foster children are in foster care as a result of poverty) or that your caffeine addiction is more important or worthwhile than someone’s addiction to other substances. And her argument is likely her faith is stronger, but that’s an argument based in eugenics-some people deserve to live and be well (those faithful enough) and some don’t and if you’re Not delivered from your poverty, addiction, mental illness, disability, etc that means you’re lacking in faith. Only an evil diety would have that logic.
Homophobes, transphobes and racists don’t have unconditional love. She wouldn’t love that child when she pushed them into conversion therapy or some sort of laying on of hands to traumatize them bc she doesn’t believe they are worthwhile as their true selves.
I also wanna point out that predestination and Calvinism that part of Calvinism is actually what is used to justify enslavement and colonization. Eugenics and genocide are often viewed as part of gods plan as a result of the predestination belief. You’re not gonna hear those exact words when you’re in your biblical studies class but they talk around it a lot. And because of the the other things Brittany Dawn professes I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a Calvinist. That is the popular belief system in these types of Christian online influencers, and it’s a very popular belief system in evangelism, and a lot of prominent Christian colleges teach Calvinism but try and play it down just a little.

If you felt that way though you wouldn’t make a video saying “my husbands medical condition is super serious” and then say in the beginning of the video “I’m going to really tell you all about it” and then when you discuss it say “sorry I don’t feel comfortable talking about it”

Re: caffeine- I quit caffeine a few years ago because the jitters I got exacerbated my anxiety. I feel a lot better now, and don't plan on going back. I used to LOVE Starbucks so after I quit I'd occasionally get a decaf latte or a hot chocolate, and I'd feel awful afterwards because the caffeine would affect my heart rate while it was in my system and I'd have to deal with withdrawal symptoms after. While I respect anyone who quits caffeine, she's not going to be actually feeling the effects of she keeps getting Starbucks. Edit: someone else said it's to get pregnant. Idk how much caffeine is acceptable in that case but she IS still drinking it.
I also agree with what you had to say about "leaving things to God," and also about how it's hard to know what she actually thinks because she probably says a lot of things just because they sound good

This may be picky of me, but I’m in sports medicine. She said she “strained her EHL” … so she strained her extensor hallucis longus? A tiny muscle in your calf. The muscle that extends her big toe (it has 2 other jobs but primary is toe extension)…. But every other muscle is fine? Yeah… sure Jan.

With all due respect.. Caffeine addiction can be serious. As someone who was on a HIGH (no pun intended) Rx of opioids and adderall (more than a drug-addict would take), for many years - as well as someone with several major stress disorders, due to being raised in a narcissist family (legit, diagnosed narcissism) and survived a near decade of being bedridden/housebound, at the hands of my “caretaker” mother (Munchhausen By Proxy, is what that is, formerly, refereed to), with no else around..
I am not an addict, though, I have many stress responses related to taking psychoactive substances, which, I am working on rewiring.
I don’t usually feel the affects of caffeine.
However, when I started drinking cold brew coffee - I could.
At least, briefly.
And I began to almost binge drink it (well, I wouldn’t go past one trenti cup, without ice, at Starbucks - and I’d make it last two days, most times).
I started off getting a grande, without ice; and the more I could feel the effects - the larger the cup got.
I love the taste of coffee and miss it - as I won’t even drink decaf, because I find it to be a slippery slope..
Though, this wasn’t only about that.
Because I have adrenal disease, which, was the underlying reason as to why I became severely disabled/bedridden (due to life-long effects of severely imbalance hormones) - the caffeine caused even more of a hormonal imbalance (I started perimenopause last year, at age 34, due to how bad the issue is - not due to caffeine. Simply stating where my body was at, when I started consuming such a vast amount. Which, the caffeine cravings I got are not unusual for what my body, as a woman, was/is going through).
So much so, I ended up getting painful sores on my chin, anytime I drank coffee.
As well as my liver hurts, quite often, now (I admit, I have binge drank some wine, a few times, over the last several months, also; due to stress responses. So, I am not entirely blaming caffeine. However, being caffeine causes One’s liver to produce bile - and my liver, now, hurts whenever I eat saturated fat, my main source of food, being on a mostly animal-based diet, because of the amount of bile it has to produce - I do think caffeine has played a roll in such).
I still get a bit of an issue, on my chin. Not much, since quitting coffee, thankfully. Goodness, did that hurt. Legitimate craters, in my skin. And the fact I have fibrosis, due to be exposed to do much barium/heavy metal contrast from CT scans - my skin is like plastic; which, makes things hurt worse).
My next step is to cut out chocolate, and see if that helps.
For me, why coffee is such a slippery slope..
The fact that I use to be able to take adderall for the fatigue I experience (even though it was causing other problems) - well, it can be frustrating to not have anything to reach for, to help deal with said fatigue.
Before I got sick, I was in my early 20’s living the sex, drugs, rock n’ roll life, in Hollywood - I could get blow delivered to me faster than a pizza.
And being I experienced fatigue back then, also - it was great, the energy that substance gave me (I didn’t know I was dealing with so many undiagnosed health problems, contributing to such).
Interesting enough, I never went to coffee, prior - because it never really did anything, for me (this was right before cold brew became so popular - which, has significantly more caffeine, per serving).
I don’t live that life, anymore, and have no desire to do so.
Hell, the month before I got sick, I prayed to God to support me in becoming a better woman for all those I am in relationship with - especially, because I wanted to be a good wife and mother, to someone; and I had such a fear, due to my own upbringing.
And then I was cast into a near decade of purgatory, which, allowed me to become the very woman I prayed to grow into.
I know BD hasn’t gone through anything like this; so, this isn’t direct towards what she was saying.
However, B, this is directed at what you were saying.
Because I what I have gone through, I have found God.
And I pray to him, everyday, to overcome these issues.
Because though it may appear to be something as simple as quitting coffee/caffeine - there is a much larger issue, which needs to be addressed.
Why do you think there are people who go to AA meetings or NA meetings drink so much coffee?
And personally, I think that issue is why the US has such a large coffee culture (I am not knocking it, either. One of my life-long dreams has always been to open my own coffee shop. Though, I do find the connection rather curious, in certain aspects).
I pray for God to support me in overcoming these issues..
Around relying on substances to feel/not feel certain things - even at the detriment of my health - yet, still allow me to live out my dreams, as well.

She has to make herself look “so busy” that she has “no time” to focus on a quality video, but needs some content for her viewers. Thus the bad cropping and weird angles.
