This method only works on bikes with multiple gears and you need it a lower gear ratio making it kick over easier. A center kick stand also helps. Also if you don’t have a center kick stand then as soon as it starts simple engage the clutch to stop the rear wheel from moving which was not done in this video.

@@jaayse kid, you may want to learn what a gear ratio is. The bigger gear ratio is what makes this possible. The larger the gear ratio, the easier this hokey nonsense would be to do. However, with a normal gear ratio that would actually be practical for most riding conditions, this wouldn't be possible, whatsoever.
@@the-dullahan Mkay so stock is 44 tooth right? Let's say you somehow went larger, 58 tooth. It's harder to pedal start because a larger gear takes more time to rotate around than a smaller one. Hope this clears that up for you.
just leave the clutch out and kick it over. (easy way but bad for gears) or kick it over and as soon as you feel your foot go down release the clutch but keep the back tire up and reengage the clutch let your bike warm up check for any loose bolts and enjoy your ride
my clucth never workeds properly spent about $50 to rebuild the clucth assembly and still didnt work right im ordering a centrififugal clutch kit for it have ordered a new exhaust with exspansion and silencer and turn signal lights as well im older now n ill be using the bike on the street but i have to throw some money at it first i have a recent video of my friend rdinig it in the back of the store my famliy owns n i work at but ill post a update vid soon wen i get all my parts
Yes in the video that's what I did disregard having the engine warm before starting it does not matter but always warm up your engine before putting load on it

You are either The Incredible Hulk or that top end is leaking somewhere. Loose head, blow-by or something...? Or you're truly The Hulk! I'm 180 lbs and pretty fit but there's no way in hell I can start my bike that way! Mine will lock the tire going down a hill with me and a 40lb backpack on. The compression is outrageous even when fully warmed up. I got alot of extra spare 12 guage spokes. Even my old bone stock bike was basically impossible to start that way. With properly seated rings, just too much compression.

At the time of the video I didn't have the clutch lever installed because the pushrod did not actuate properly from the factory

Question do I hold clutch in or leave it alone ?
This will only work if you've got a massive gear ratio on that rear wheel, which also means you're going to have a way slower bike.
True I gotta pedal real hard and fast with my 36t sprocket
I can do it with a 32 tooth but you need to have the pedal tdc and give it the berries
its actually harder to do with a larger sprocket.

You can only kick start bikes with multi speed transmissions, You can not kick start single speed Cruisers, the gear ratio is too high.

you have to have the clutch disengaged when its getting kicked over because the magneto wont spin if the engines not in gear.
That puts a lot of strain on your drive chain and could cause it to snap

Motor was Fairly new when this video was taken I doubt it had low compression
