    YOU NEED A CHAIN GUARD!!!!! If you dont wanna make the stock one qoek gwt a different one. I knew someone who died because his chain snapped and cut his leg, he bled out before paramedics could get to him. Use a chain guard or dont do this at all your life is more important than this.

      ong thats horrible sorry for ur loss

    • @Everatti
      @Everatti  2 месяца назад +1

      Sorry to hear that, that’s terrible. Proper chain / sprocket alignment, lubrication, and assembly would prevent a chain from snapping, along with preventative maintenance checks on chain stretch. I’ve had chains snap on motorized bikes and I’ve never felt like it would rip my leg off. The metal guard itself is dangerous in that there’s no proper safe way to mount it, risking it disassembling itself.

  • @pancratius8886
    @pancratius8886 11 месяцев назад +9

    Chain guard is very important, its not to protect your feet when your chain breaks, but prevents your pant leg from getting caught inside the engine spinning a few thousands RPM, and preventing it from pulling your leg into the spinning gear which would shred your flesh like blender. The chain tensioner is the killer. Run without one before it gets caught inside your spoke while riding 30 mph, stopping you like a giant branch got stuck between your spokes.

    I would add to check the spark plug gap. I've encountered more that one kit with the gap way off. My first build had this issue and after 1 hour plus of troubleshooting I had an "Aha" moment and checked the plug gap. Once properly gapped I was off and riding with no other issues.
    Also, after 5/10/15 hours of operation check all bolts again as the heating and cooling cycle and vibration tends to loosen some of these.

    I just got my Engine. Couldn't help but throw the whole thing on in one day. Anyway, I've used some of your tips. But I'm not quite sure of the fuel ratio. I found on some websites and google. Those say 16:1 for the first three gas tanks. And then 20:1 after its broken in. Does that sound about right?

    • @1ilrx
      @1ilrx Год назад +1

      Most people run 40:1 I believe because it's the best ratio for performance from what I've heard. The sites say to run 16:1 for break in and 20:1 after just to be safe. A lot of people don't even run a different ratio after broken in and run 40:1 right from the start. My first kit is arriving soon and I'm going to be a little safer and run something like 25:1 or 30:1 or 40:1 like everyone else.

      Steel is better for motorized bikes. The frame bends without cracking. All frames bend, but at the speeds a motor makes a bike go (a bike that wasn't designed for speed), a lot more bending and flexing occurs. Aluminum is lighter and weaker, and is more succeptible to frame failure.

    Idk about the wd40. It could eat the plastics.
    Silicone dry lube or graphite is best.

    Only thing I wouldn't have done in this vid is pull the throttle pin out.. extra measure to make sure you have a perfect pull

    You didn't talk about any mounting tricks even though you did something less than standard. Maybe it's a good thing for a part 2. Mounting shenanegans.

      You’re right - I didn’t. Check out the comments. I’m sure someone’s added some input!
      I always add a piece of inner tube between the engine and the frame to protect it from vibrations. Other than that it’s up to you how you mount it - there’s really only two ways to do it. With or without the U bolt adapter.

    I found the sprocket pretty much impossible to get aligned in the center in the chain no matter how much I fiddled with the bolts. I'm resigned to simply hope it doesn't fall off.
