- The iconic F-type has been updated for 2021. Under the hood you have three engine options, and only one transmission option. Under the hood of this F-Type is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that is producing 296HP & mated through a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside you will find revised headlights, front fascia, rear fascia, and wheels. On the inside are some changes like a 12in driver information display. Is the NEW 2021 Jaguar F-Type First Edition worth the price?

4 banger with an MSRP of $80K.. are you kidding me ?? Zonkzilla !! This car at a minimum should come with a V6 and be hitting 400HP. Next !!!!

The P300 engine is fine 99% of the time and you can loose your licence with it should you drive like a numpty. It does not have the sound true. I have an XE P300 as I need 4 seats on occassion and it works fine on the motorway and Scottish B roads. Mind you P300 or P575 will look and sound the same at 0dB when parked up as we are on lockdown here. Bad time to launch a facelift. Bad time for just about anything.
@@Wyde_Boi No point me driving to the golf course as the 17th Tee is 10 yards from my back door......and I dont play golf. Me look cool - Not in this lifetime. I like jags, and the XE was best compromise. It only comes in 2litre 4 pot unless you buy 2nd hand. And yes, I dont pretend the road is a raceteack, the power is for safe overtaking not hooning around like a total fanny.
The old ones were V6 380HP and could be bought for $60-70k
i love Jag, currently own a XE, but the thought of a 4 cylinder engine in a car like this does not sit well with me. This type of car with its design should have a nice beefed up V-6 at minimum.

I never thought a 4 cylinder car would be going for 80k. Just a couple years ago the XE supercharged v-6 could be had for around 45k. Sure the F type is beautiful to look at but double the price for an inferior engine? I'll pass.

Six cylinder jeeplife Bruno I’m not a fan at all of a 4 cylinder in a car like this. The sound is such an important part of the experience. I drive the 8 cylinder about 5 years ago and I can’t forget it until now due to the sound. Why the 4 cylinder? Many markets have expensive petrol and also manufacturers have to provide cars with better MPG. Personally sound is too important for me though. It’s why I won’t sell my 2014 Raptor!
I love how this dude pays so much attention to the lines of the car. No other YT car guy does that. It matters!

Currently own the pre-facelift F-Type 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder.Test drove the V6, V8 and the SVR before making my purchase, and I don't regret it one bit.
The 4 Cylinder is an underrated car. I absolutely love it. I average almost 640 km on a full tank. This coming out of a 2 seater sports car. It sounds brilliant when rolling, especially when the throttle is mashed. I will agree that it doesn't sound as good as the V6 or the V8, however, for a 4 Cylinder It sounds amazing.
One thing for certain, It handles much, much better than the V6 and the V8. I test drove all 3 on the same road, around a bend. The 4 Cyl handled much better as it is lighter. Its also tons of fun to drive, being an RWD, you can do plenty to toss the car around.
The car is a massive head turner, and people envy you wherever you go. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. If there's anything I would change about the car. I would say, maybe straight piping it to get a louder roar. Regardless, the growls and pops it make now are more than sufficient.
In case you're wondering, no. I haven't had a single issue with the car - even though at times, I drive it like I stole it.

This redesigned Jaguar F-Type is very beautiful. Such an aggressive redesign done by Jaguar. A job well done 👍🏻 Interior and the seats looks very nice and neat. This boy should have at least a V6 engine in it though. That's the only zonk for me.

15:20 My F-Type R has adjustable side bolsters. There is a turn knob on the door by the other seat controls. Maybe that feature is reserved for the R models where it's needed most :)

I like how Jaguar stays true to their brand by offering the new F-Type with a front engine, reverse opening hood unlike the C8 Corvette which is now mid engine.
There is way too much mandatory AWD in the Jaguar lineup. I miss when more engines and trims for the F-Type, XE, XF offered a choice of rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. What’s wrong with offering a choice?

Glad they have options for every type of buyer but what kind of maniac options a 4 cylinder F type in automatic up to 80 grand. You must be able to get a decent option 6 cylinder for that much. If it was me, I’d be looking at a lightly used supercharged V8 from a few years back. Great video Joe. Thanks for the entertainment during this bummer of a time.

Great review, I think the 4cylinder was designed mostly for Europe, due to emission laws & road tax now being calculated by co2 multiplied by engine size.

Respectable engine performance numbers for a 4 cyl. turbo, but would like more. "Umph", for $74,000.00!
Interior, and center stack, are perfect, however, not sure about the seat bolstering and headrest.
Business side is just as good, and makes it a complete package.

There is a lot I like about the F-type but for almost eighty grand couldn't they add a little more horsepower to that motor? Other than that it is a really nice ride and has killer looks. Great review!

Joe - great review as always. Good history and you covered all the details.... however first thought - Ick. 4cyl on a Jag.... STOP!!! Fake exhaust in the cabin, I bet it sounds like a LawnBoy on the outside. Sorry you just can’t cover up those details as if they were small changes. Now let’s talk about your driving...did you cross three lanes of highway traffic and cross a solid white line to hit the exit???? That is some true FL driving. But I still think you did a great review - stay safe and keep the reviews coming.

I love my 14 v8s. I think the current line of ftypes stands out as a car. The new one doesn't looks as great in the front imo. However, it's still a nice looking car. It's hard to face-lift something that was already perfect. But that front makes me think of an audi or Volvo. 🤷🏾♂️
