Jags are awful they break all the time. If you tune them they fall apart so much. I've own 2014 vw gti, 2015 Mercedes gla 45, 2017 audi rs3, and a 2022 bmw m5. Plus jags are so slow for the price. My bmw does quarter miles in 10.8 also my audi rs3 does quarter miles in 11.7 which is faster than that jag. That jag does quarter miles in 11.9. It's sad that a 400hp audi is faster than 575hp jag. My buddy had that f type and it broke so often. Same with his other Jag. Also electric cars are awful and a long story.

😜😜😜True story back in the day I bought new 1983 Jaguar XJS 12 cylinder coupe. I was going to trade it in on another car and sales manager said you will do better selling it private party. Put ad in newspaper-yes this was the 80s. Got call from professor from Long Beach State University and he came to see the car. He asked if could go by his mechanic to check the car. They talked quietly and after he came to me and said the mechanic was worried because of evidence of chronic oil leak. He asked if we could go by the dealer where I bought and serviced the car. The dealer mechanic put on lift and when asked by the potential buyer and mechanic replied in heavy accented English "This one has leak but better than most and they all leak". At the end of the day we made a deal and sold the car. Sorry for the long comment!

Two comments on your review: 1) yes, the Meridian sound system in the F-Type isn’t the greatest, but I honestly can’t remember when I turned the radio on in my 2021 F-Type R…the exhaust note is my soundtrack. 2) The simple fix for people who want the sub 3500 RPM roar and all the pops and bangs of the post 2021 F-types, is to pull the active exhaust fuse. I did it, and will never go back. No modifications necessary!

Jaguar neutered the exhaust sound In 2017 models. If you were able to get your hands on 2013-2016 the pops and burbles are INSANE. I purchased a 2016 V8 R AWD and removed the stock airboxes and put large cone performance intakes. When the car revs around 3,000 rpm it sounds like Ferrari. This version also has the upgraded meridian surround sound that 770W and comes with a TV tuner and DVD player stock. You could go to velocity AP and purchase the supercharger pulley and tune to get the exhaust notes from the 2012-2016 models but its going to run you almost 5 grand.

Supercar is an arguable term, but it's definitely not exotic, as I've heard some people try to refer to it as. What is undeniable though, is that these things are a blast to drive. I had a 2016 F-Type R for a short time and even though you can get more features in a Benz or Porsche, the F-Type always just felt like a wild animal that was ready to misbehave the moment you stopped asking it not to.

I stopped in the service center on Thursday and one of the things I told the manager is that you can't buy a better supercar for the money. Yes, it's a supercar. 0-60 in under four seconds, I've done it. 11.2 quarter mile at 122 mph. 186 MPH top speed. Haven't done those yet. I've had it to 142. Scary. He just said, people don't know. It's an amazing automobile. The sound. Oh my God, the sound. I also learned Thursday Jaguar won't sell or, service internal combustion autos in five years. $200,000.00 electric cars, only.

142..umm I did 150 on my old Audi A4 1.8T... I am trying to beat my own record after I tune my A6 supercharged..Hopefully won't kill myself trying

I owned the car about a month when I hit 142 on a stretch of Interstate. I'm not in a contest. I'll never try to go that fast off track again. I don't want to die, either. I won't have to change the factory tuning to go a lot faster. Some guys North of me said they could get 650HP out of it. 550, now. Are you 70?

@gregpate3640 No. I am almost 50. I do like jaguars , I think they have a nice exhaust sound. I might own one someday, but I like german more specially the RS5 or RS6..

Idk who would ever wanna buy new after I bought a 2012 e93 m3 with an ESS supercharger and 50k miles clean title with rod bearings and throttle actuators already done for only $30k flat. I know the hard top convertibles weigh significantly more but it’s absolutely justifiable with a straight pipe S65 sound going straight to my eardrums❤️

Love the review! Very informative and as a Mercedes-Benz owner previously Jaguar they are both great cars. That Ftype though is a screamer!

The F-Type. Truly compelling. Like your videos.
That said my dream cars all come with a manual. Because paddles are for canoes. Yeah I coined that.
And yes I put my money where my mouth is, so don't blame me if manufacturers kill off the few remaining options to row your own gears.
The last two cars I bought- available only with a six speed manual.
Jaguar and Mercedes, not to mention Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette etc. have lost the enthusiast plot.
    Pity.
So we get heavier, less involving cars needing more power to compensate.
Sonewhere between a spartan Lotus Elise and a sumptious Bentley Flying Spur is the sweet spot of engagement and livability.
It is sitting in my garage.

I recently bought a 2016 F-Type 3.0S coupe, manual transmission. Nor a supercar but a beautiful car with a wonderful sound. The manual F-Types are quite rare, you have to really want one to get one, mine was 2,000 miles away.

    • @theapplepaul
      @theapplepaul 8 месяцев назад +1

@@3ducs They are special for sure. Glad you found one.
If 'nobody is buying manuals' how come they are in more demand and get higher prices in the enthusuast market? Try finding a Ferrari F430. 360, 355, or Audi R8 manual and then compare pricing to the much less expensive ones without that gated manual.
The fact Honda sold every Type R and SI it made- without any transmission option other than a six speed manual speaks volumes.
2,000 miles is a long way to go. Much respect.

As a Jaguar Land Rover employee, (accountant in product development) I can say that even we employees are sad that it is to be no more. A lot of us stop and stare when one drives by even off the factory floor. They have a presence that sadly won’t be replicated. It’s an unfortunate sign of the times when the Greta’s of the world spoil the enjoyment of the petrol head. Great video 😊

Your right sad indeed but many other companies are not following jaguars lead , combustion cars are not going away, I think Jaguar is making a fatal error here
