I have a Porsche 911 Turbo and the reaction of the driver in the drag race is 100% legit. First time I got on mine, it scared me how fast it is. Stupid fast. To the point it gives you anxiety. But once you get used to it, it’s fantastic. Nothing like the exhilaration of the acceleration. Love to see the reaction of the passengers when they get in the car.

Don't ever drive a Plaid,SF90, 765 LT or any car that traps above 145 mph in the 1/4 mile then as they'll likely kill you.
Just drove to 190mph in 992 Turbo S with AC on and stereo like it was nothing. It wasn't a wait and count the speedo.....it punched it hard and 200 was easily in reach...but the road turned 90 degrees infront of me. The part nobody can explain is how well it handled it, slowed back down to sane speeds with impeccable stability, and carried on about the daily tasks. Not a stress or nervousness about it. It did all of it with ease. Next, Next level my friends. In Mexico of course.
it is nothing short of absurd, i had a head and stomach ache from the g force each of the 4 times ive driven this car because it is unusably fast (in a good way), you could stop dead in the middle of the highway and use launch control n be up to speed in 2 seconds and then at a speed that will put u in jail in 2 more seconds it is unbelievable

They took the Lamborghini V10 and somehow managed to make it even better, it’s definitely profound.
It has a great specific power output, but it's nothing that wasn't done over 20 years ago. Honda's F20C comes to mind (123.45hp/liter), and later the 458 Italia with 124.5hp/liter.
It really says something when you can see him genuinely jarred by how fast the 911 turbo is. I think it really shook him a bit. Bravo Porsche!

It seems that the Turbo S is being judged for not being a GT3. The point of Turbo S is its sheer power & speed. What makes this 992 version exceptional is that it has the athleticism to handle that power&speed every time you turn it on, with a reliability of a daily commuter.
This is absolutely teamed out perfectly between the camera crew and the sound team. Very cinema like, feels like I'm watching a skit from fast and the furious without VIN Diesel..But your knowledge is informative and genuine,not boring and lame. Good job.

I was a junior in high school when the original NSX came out. The car was so revolutionary that Honda brought it to our school and we all got out of class to get an up close look at it. Love that car.

Can you elaborate on what a soft limiter is? I’ve never heard that term before. Sounds infuriating.

@@imoffendedthatyouareoffended it means that you can't rev to the redline while the car is parking/standing still. I think Audi uses this in every RS car that you can buy today in Europe. Probably because of EU noise and CO2 regulations

A soft limiter limits the revs at 3500 rpm, when the car is standing still and in neutral. Or in gear, but with clutch pedal down.
as an editor, I really appreciate the production/editing that goes into these videos just to enhance it ever so subtly. the vertigo effect @3:42 wasn't even important to the storyline imo, but it sure did make a difference to grab the viewers attention (like me lol)

Also please just use a Draggy or something and give us some 0-60 and 1/4 mile numbers. It doesn't matter if your numbers are off from other tests, that is the whole point to see a variety of testing data points. If you are going to drag race and drive on road courses please just let us know what the numbers were. You know we are all curious to see hard numbers, cause I have seen you two geeking on them as well so... That is the only thing that I would improve, otherwise you guys are doing great.

I've come back to this review quite a few times because of how great it is! Indeed, if you mentioned the perfect everyday supercar, these two would be at the top of the list in terms of comfort and useability. And such great contrast, the R8 with its exotic looks and screaming exhaust note, the Turbo S with its lineage and refinement. Both cater perfectly to their desired targets.
I recently started watching you guy and all I can say is I love it. Especially the r8 . That's my dream car
The R8 V10 is my favorite supercar by Audi. Sounds like a symphony orchestra.

I chose the R8 V10 plus over a turbo S or even a GT3. its just more supercarish and just has more character and substance to it. I enjoy driving it to work everyday and i think its the ultimate daily super. Try it.

Huge Porsche fan, car looks amazing and I’d choose it first, but I do have to admit. The exhaust note of the R8 is fantastic. Great video. These cars are my fav car channel.
There is a “track” setting for the gauges that reduces the gauges down to the information that you need and it all fits inside of the steering wheel’s visible areas. This feature was added to the z2022 I believe.
From the 16 to 17 minute mark ..... just amazing stuff, fellas. Movie quality footage, editing, sound design. Gave me goosebumps a little bit.

Loved the video, they've tried to make it sound like it's a close call, but in reality, the Turbo S is by far the most extraordinary machine ever made to this date in terms of practicality, power, and general daily use. It is the most impressive thing to this date by Porsche.

I drove a 993 Convertible (the slowest 911 in the range) back when it was 4 years old and it was so fast that I can't comprehend how fast the current 911 Turbo S would be.
I took it to 130mph on the motorway and it felt like it was just getting into it's stride. The way it got up to 130mph was simply amazing. This is 4 generations on and at the other end of the line up so I can't get my head around how much faster it must be.
