James owning the loudest and quietest Toyota on Earth is hilarious
Isn't the bz4x the quietest?
The worlds quietest Toyota cannot be heard
@@Kurre. Without the Century's noise insulation, wind and tyre noise will almost certainly make the bz4x louder.
Let's take a second to appreciate James' driveway. You got a loud, raucous AE86, a whisper quiet limousine of a Century.... and a Miata.
Not really, it actually makes alot of sense as an enthusiast, we want experience 100% of the time, whether that experience is sporty “race car” like, or ultra luxury super rich but for cheap, we aren’t happy with “normal” for a car even if we’re using it for “normal” things . Notice the way Thomas mentions how he appreciates the care and quality craftsmanship that went into the Century specifically, that’s not something that a non car person would necessarily care about because it doesn’t lend itself to being a clout machine. James also mentions in the Century video that he really likes how it has a simple goal but it executes that goal very well, it’s not showy it’s not flashy, it’s not capitalistic in its intent which is very similar to how the AE86 engine swap or no was designed, it was supposed to be a cheap fun driver’s car, and while it’s no longer as cheap to this day it’s still a fun driver’s car, it’s not fancy or flashy, and it’s not the fastest car, but it’s very fun to drive and can teach drivers a thing or two from driving it, simple goal executed well… So it makes sense that people like Thomas and James are going to perk up when hearing about the Century, even those it’s not as “sporty” as most enthusiast cars it is still a car that can be and will be appreciated by proper car enthusiasts…
I love the unscripted and off-the-cuff banter and conversations you guys have. Love it
I think its because Thomas always seems to know what he's talking about, and James often says the most wrong thing in response.
you should check extra throttle house
Is his service available outside of the US? As his broker is registered in the US.
I just wrote him on facebook
Lost bots lol
I like how Thomas sneakily watches the tach, looking a little nervous, when James runs all his cars to red line in every gear.
😂
Then Thomas is driving James's cars and he's like "DO IT! PUSH IT!" while cackling because the noises sound cool.
14:33
Thomas: "Do you know how to double-clutch?"
James: "Oh, I've seen _seven_ clutches in my life!" 🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah. 45mins of this chemistry
Yup, the chemistry between them is definitely there, and definitely great. I wish they would do more road trips like og Top Gear.
@@TermlessHGWi genuinely think that they can make sth like a north american version of TG
On a Sunday too?! TH coming so in so clutch.
@@023hwthey always master the balance between the cinematic aesthetics and family friendliness feel of their vidoes
Yes! We need more long episodes of them 2 just hanging out. Almost reminds me of old top gear....
Thank you for making this into a proper length video, rather than a 5 second walk by on each car in a five minute long video, much props!
Well seems like 46min is absolutely an ideal length.
Yeah
The fact that thomas doesn’t know the power of his cars, show (in my opinion) that he is a real car enthusiast. He doesn’t cares about the numbers, but just how the car drives.
Well at least Thomas knows about the power of the cars driven by characters from FFVII.
how does being knowledgeable make you less of an enthusiast? how does that make sense?
@viktorlindeberg7363 People tend more to see it as a black and white matter, which means it could be either one way or the other
@shinpansen this must be the most senseless statement in this comment section 😂😭🤦🏼♂️
@@viktorlindeberg7363everyone can read a spec sheet. What the comment is getting at is the fact that an enthusiast can describe the power and handling. Also, 250 horsepower can vary wildly based on torque, vehicle weight, balance, etc. Stats are cool too
The Century is one of the "276hp" cars. The export version was 295hp, so if you took out whatever limiters are on it or got it tuned more naturally itd probably be about 300hp, stock and in good shape. Taking the century to a tuner with a dyno would be a wild episode lol. Super fun for sure. (Not to change it, just to find out a bit more about it and run it on a dyno lol)
This video perfectly encapsulates what it means to be a car enthusiast. It's just pure motoring joy from start to finish and I loved every second of it. Thanks, Boys!
Amin.
I couldn’t have said it better 👍
James and that Miata are the embodiments of "puppy energy". It's truly what that fun car is all about.
Agree. Miata MX5 is legendary.
Didn’t James buy a Lotus? Or was that a joke?
@@javiersilva1577 Its true, theyve just been delayed, and delayed, but should finally be on the way.
I love how both these guys know what the other one owns and why they love it but the joy and excitement they both have explaining their cars and the mods they've made is truly why cars are our hobby.
Something I found interesting: when James took that corner in the Alfa, I could feel how light and nimble the car is through the camera. I might have to get one of those.
Quick note for the TH team: if you guys need a 2015 Vanquish for a video, let me know. I'll ship mine up there and let you use it.
would you let a 15 year old drive it? 🙏
Probably after a deposit LOL and a contract signing over an agreement lifetime servitude if wrecked lmao@@lamlam..
if you want to save money (im assuming you have enough to buy both, with you offering to ship an aston martin haha) you could get the fiat 850 sport spider, also a 1970s car, looks quite close to the same, just has less performance. but from watching the video the driving should feel about the same. its absolutely amazing, and I cant wait for summer, because if the weather is good ill daily drive it :)
I like how these guys always give us something new to look forward too
Me too looked forward to those.
Did you realize how big of a smile convertibles/cabriolets put on these guys’ face? And how they got serious all of a sudden once they are in a sedan afterwards:D
I hope everybody will have or had the luxury in life to feel as happy as these guys are in their convertible car.
So wholesome ❤
My first car was an ‘83 VW Gol (not Golf, because that was in Brazil) equipped with an 1.3 air-cooled engine that made an ungodly 89 horses (downhill). The first upgrade that I made was installing the coveted GTI steering wheel, exactly the same as Schnitz!! So many memories watching this video and enjoying all precious automotive relics, full of character. Great job guys, great garages both of you !!
Absolutely gorgeous color on the MX-5, James! Reminds me of some of the blues you'd see on the older ones.
I love this, I love hearing more about what you guys like and your opinion and what’s goes through your own brain, I love the way this video came out. Well done fellas!
Couldn't agree more. I absolutly love everthing they put out and this is so much fun. It feels like the highest level of production ETH video which is a lot of fun.
@@kaiswitzer475agree. Same goes to those cars in original garage slot.
U guys deserve every one of these beauties, I’ll never find a replacement to top gear, but you guys have filled
this void in my life quite well. Much love to the whole crew!
Agree. Kimera EVO37 and Lancia Rally 037 are some of the beauties.
What an excellent surprise! This felt like the perfect blend of high production value from the main channel and the casual conversation from the Extra channel.
Simply put, this is my favorite automotive channel. Thank you gents. Congratulations and cheers to all your success. 🍻
You can float the gears on the Alfa if you learn the release points. Every unsynchronized transmission has an rpm where the gearshift floats in and out of gear without damage.
I am so proud of James trading an ND1 for an ND2 MX-5 💙 staying true to his values :') 💙💙
Also, I love these sort of videos where it's not just a review for a car, it's a little bit of more relaxing, seeing your opinions, etc. :)
And not losing any money on the trade either
@@nikhilgulati3897well these trades are basically cool.
@@nikhilgulati3897the dealer scammed themselves lmao
When I heard they bought two more cars and the associated plan for those cars, I couldn't stop celebrating!! I loved the Road to Enlightenment series and I'm so excited for what is to come!!
Such a refreshing classic Top Gear like feel, wholesome guys. Had the pleasure of meeting them in person as well. Keep
up the great work!
Almost an hour of Throttle House on The Lords Day is always a blessing.
Yeah, if only Thomas wasn't such a blaspheming chucklehead.
@@mua77amjamal He breaks the second commandment more often then he breaks the speed limit.
Agreed. I cringe every time
@@jaketherake71agree.😅
@@jaketherake71he did broke this 5 times now.
I’ve been waiting for a video like this for a long time. Keep up the good work guys!!! 👍
17:10 that part was hilarious, "thread the needle, thread the needle!" 😂
Great video. I'm so glad you gave it the time it needed and didn't try to cram it into 20 minutes. None of us are going to complain about more Throttle House.
This video shows why you guys are the best. Your taste in cars is truly wonderful. You guys are down to earth and you get your audience. Keep it up fellas!
Thomas hit it outta the park with the "new" Alfa!Good Job!
Loved the video guys, felt so natural and not the same bullshittery that every other car youtube channel has to offer. So down to earth and just honest, Driving what you love and loving what you drive. This is the reason i've stuck with you guys, lotta heart and passion goes into your channel and it shows. Keep it up boys love the content and looking forward to the next road trip video!
This was such a great video to really see you two interact, appreciate, and give a window into why you each love the cars you do - and what it is you each look for that fits your preferences as drivers. Your dynamic is awesome, and I absolutely love this channel and these videos. Grateful for as long as you guys keep it up.
That red Alfa Romeo is a piece of art.
More than anything, I love the friendship. I used to think y’all were corny back in the day, then I remember the corny things I do around people who I genuinely enjoy their company. Cheers to having great friends 🎉🎉
The thing I like most besides the chemistry you guys have, is the fact that you own cars an average Joe can actually acquire within reasonable time. there are RUclipsrs that when they show their cars, you're like "..but how?". But the way, this video was worthy of the main TH channel 🤣
It's so nice y'all did this. It really felt like I went along on this journey of ownership with you guys. A joy ride with friends sharing toys, loved every second of it. Can't wait to see the next Throttle House Special!
What about the emira?
😢I thought I was watching ExtraThrottle House😂
The entire time watching this video I kept repeating to myself how much I love cars. Really resonated with the enthusiasm from both of you. Great vid to watch after going on my Sunday morning drive through Malibu in my 996 cab. Now I want to run the drive back in my GR Corolla!
This was such fun. Huge props to you guys for creating some amazing and engaging (and fun) content. Love it.
46 minutes of smiles....what an enjoyable tour of your garages!
Wow, now that's such a nice personal video. Thanks guys
Brilliant video. Great to see how much love you guys have for your cars. All the best to you both to grow your collection with the growing success of the best car channel on RUclips.
The teal on the miata is absolutely beautiful. Looks like the caribic ocean on the most wonderful day you can imagine.
James's Miata is basically my perfect Miata. I totally agree with him about Mazda's Soul Red and the lack of a "Soul Blue". Also, the M2 in LBB is on my shortlist of attainable dreamcars. Those 2 would definitely be in my garage if I had the funds... Sigh...
Keep up the great work. Love everything you guys put out!
For the Miata, yes Xidas are the answer to the never ending suspension question on coilovers. I spent about $2k for them, but they make this car feel like 997 GT3 adjacent. Firm, but plenty compliant and not punishing on the daily use.
May I ask which spring option you chose? Thank you.
@@PeterSperl I ended up getting 550/350 springs and it's an amazing ride
Thanks for letting us be a part of the project! Glad you are having fun with the shocks. Driving them as they were meant to be driven :)
I smile from start to finish it is just so genuine you can feel it through the video.
_Nigel the Nasal RUclips Commenter:_
The controversy surrounding the use of the term "jack" when describing the Union Flag was handled *best* by the Royal Navy, who used "Jack", who were determined to continue using "Jack", and who made it official in 1902 that "Jack" is what they'll use, while petty arguments about what to call a flag in the House of Lords continued. Bravo, mustachioed sailors of the past, Bravo.
The only reason I came to the comments section
What a fantastic video ..absolutely loved it ❤
You guys are the best. Always love the videos, and these special ones are ... well, very special. Keep up the great work. The community is behind you.
It's about time you guys showcased your rides! Love the channel and keep up the great work. ❤
Love the shout out to Mikes Century. It looks so good with the kit, and those wheels! You could add Mikes wheels to your stock Century and I wouldn’t be mad at all.
A medal for watching the whole video! WHAT?! This was GREAT! AND, bonus, you guys mentioning a future road trip! Can't wait to see you car choices and where you are going. So, to the cars... I love James' choices but, have a soft spot for Thomas's Alfas. When I wore a younger man's clothes (tip of the hat to Billy Joel) I owned a 69 Alfa Spider with SPICA fuel injection (purchased in 73). Loved that car but, I was too practical for my own good and thought I needed something more utilitarian for traveling from duty station to duty station while in the Navy. Not a day goes by that I don't regret that decision. Oh, and I totally relate to that second gear grind! If I could get another one before I pass from this veil of tears, I would die a happy camper. Being greedy, I'd also LOVE to park a GTV in the garage next to my Spider. You mention a lot of ideas for future videos and they all sound great! Thank you for the content gentlemen, it is greatly appreciated!
I have a 1985 celica GTS manual, and i do adore that 80s feel lol seeing you so happy in Toe Foo reminds me of my old Celica, need it running once more
Love your guy's content! Keep it up! Also could you please do a ferrari california vs california t video? Would love to see a comparison between the two with your input! Thank you all for everything! God Bless you and the production team!
one thing I love most about these guys is they are not like million other youtubers buying and showing off lambo's or ferrari;s yet they have such a beautiful car collections.
This was awesome! I appreciate the long in depth video thank you guys ❤
Both of your choices are fantastic - and the mods are perfect. I'm with you 100% across the board!
James buying a Toyota Century instead of EV is one of the most hilarious things ever 😂
Yup! 😅
You guys really feel like friends. Something that never came easy to me as a kid growing up. And your cars choices are obviously so unapologetically you guys. Thank you for being a haven for people like me, and influencing people like me to just be who you want to be, drive what you wanna drive and make friends along the way
This is my favorite episode thus far. Really enjoyed seeing your rides, wonder what the collections will look like in a few years. Nice job.
Not sure how I missed this video from 4 months ago...absolutely loved it! Thanks guys for sharing!
Y’all have inspired me to pursue a career of passion and belief in myself, you guys are serious role models to so many creators out there. Your constant improvement and hard work is only evident if you go looking, on the surface you guys are a professional film crew!
I was thinking about the deliberate positioning of the cars at the opener and how they enabled a purposeful transition of conversation where movement marked a change in topic, while still providing glimpses of the previous car at the edges of the frame, which created a seamless layout to progress through the discussion. Very cool the way the did it!
this channel is literally a gem
FUNtastic videos guys! Loving it! THANKS 4 making this!!!!
I love this video. You both had so much enthusiasm for your cars and love to share your stories. We see the passion in you and it brings it out in us. You made us appreciate and like every car, even with each one's idiosyncrasies. You take us back in time and remind us why we fell in love with automobiles.
Throttle house is like top gear, but with 66.66% of the talent😂
An absolute joy to watch from start to finish! 👏
Love this one! Thanks for taking us behind the scenes!
This was super entertaining and I enjoyed this different style to learn more about your cars and your collecting mindset
What a great enthusiast collection of cars! Thank you, Thomas and James for showing us your garage. Cant wait to see your next road trip and road trip cars!
Loved this show. We all have cars we’ve owned that we loved and wished we still had; I loved seeing what you guys have and why you love them. And our car loves are never perfect, sometimes the imperfections are what make them so wonderfully memorable to us!
Great episode! Could watch hour long episodes of you both anytime. Cheers
It is nice to see the two of you review these cars of different power and handling levels and can appreciate them for what they can do. Spaghetti reminds me of my SH Forester X. Handles like a racecar with full aftermarket STi suspension components and coilovers but is soooooo slow. Takes forever to get to redline in each gear. It is my daily. Its loud. Its bouncey and I love it!
Great vid
The personality uozing out is just amazing
Great video thank you! and excited to hear there's another road trip series coming!
Also cool to see you filming in my hometown!
Thomas driving of Toefoo is mesmerizing, truly goes to show you how good of a driver he is, those downshift @36:15 were masterful!
Look forward to every upload! Thanks for the great car material!
From Arizona, cheers!
I've been a subscriber since the early e46 days (I have one myself, currently dead in my driveway, plus a NB1 Miata) when Thomas was soloing it in front of the camera. I love how far they've come, and it was great to see the e46 again. My fav YT car channel by far
Got super excited when I saw the title and thumbnail! Been thinking the last few months how I would love to see more content of your own cars, this is great!
Thanks for the extra information at the end of the video for the people who watched the whole thing.. honestly it was exciting to watch and know about the cars also goodluck on the upcoming non revealed video 🎉🎉
Loved this video and loved the fact you can clearly see your cars bring pure joy, don’t have to be the fastest or the best, loving cars has no reason other than the pure love of a car and this video showed that
The joy and honesty is great. I think someone said, I don’t know how much horsepower, I just love the way it feels. Isn’t that what road cars are about, if you want to keep your licence. Loved this film. Thanks guys.
You guys are the best. I love the extra throttle house ideas you mentioned at the end of this video. Please do it! I’m not alone in this feeling-I could listen to you both just shoot the shit for hours.
I thought James ordered a Lotus quite a while back... Did I miss something?
We love what we love! God bless you guys!
Great to see most of your cars featured.
Very much looking forward to your upcoming road trip.
Really like this video for a change of pace! Awesome collection of cars!
Love seeing your personal cars hope there's more videos to come 👍
That road reminds me of my drive towards Milton. I love watching your videos knowing you guy's are pretty close to where i live and i recognize almost all the roads you drive on. You guy's are awsome!
I didn’t know I needed this video until watching it. Incredible video guys!
Looking forward to the next road trip so much!
This content is so good. Just guys showing how much they love their cars. Wholesome stuff
You guys have never failed to make me smile and enjoy every single video I have watched and am loving it. Thank you!
I've been waiting for this video for a long time. Thank you for providing it!
Thank you for sharing your cars - loved it!
Getting all of my dad's cars and my cars together in one place for a photoshoot for his birthday last year makes me appreciate the time invested to setting this up.. cheers to my favorite car review channel
Thanks for the extra info on those 2 cars. Can't wait to see them! Love you both ❤
Could have watched this forever. You guys are the best!
Watching this about to buy a Manual OG M2 in the same color this week! What great timing :)
