Hey Josh, I subscribed to your channel, liked your video and am commenting here. I genuinely love all your videos. Hope to get the Mahaan Air mug so I can drink my tea/coffee every morning and remember you in all the cool planes
Cooles Video!
Well.... I don't know what to comment so I need the cup I guess 😂
Josh I love your channel and to say the Iranian people are great is wonderfull but Iran as a country is terrible! Very poor human rights history. Women have no rights at all and if wearing shorts gets you told off then it's a solid NOPE from me.
That station manager really loves his job and is a great brand ambassador for Mahan Air!
That's what I was thinking lol he could send this clip to upper management and ask for a promotion. Would beat any CV no doubt

I visited Iran in 1979 with my Iranian college friends. We are still friends to this day and I am considered Uncle to his children who write to me. Thank you Josh for this: the Iranian people that I met and those that I have now known for years - are the kindest, most joyful and soul minded people. I was actually due to move to Iran to teach English and sadly things changed in a short period of time. With friends we visted Charlus, the Caspian Sea and what was then Bandar e Phlavi. I went to the Mosque there for prayers. I respectfully sat at the back during prayers. Upon conclusion - the most amazing event as people came up to me and greeted me and thanked me for the honor of my presence at thier Mosque. Truly a memory I will never forget. I was told that the Quran holds that those to whom a visitor may come are charged with their safety. This is the Quran that I know and respect. Throughout my time, the warmth of welcome was one that has never been matched. I can see all the faces to this day. MY friend Abdullah and I have now been friends since 1975...some 47 years. I hope to one day travel back to a country that I feel very connected to on many levels. Hard to describe. Soulful. To visit and pay respects to Abdullah brother who passed away...I taught him English back in the day in Leeds. UK. Bless his soul. I hope to seek out Mahan Air...and as I am a bit older now and retired...certainly a bucket list hpoe for me. I pulled out the photos from the Caspina Sea...and I will never forget. Thank you Josh for this video. I so enjoyed seeing your excitement. Stay safe and happy travels. Farsi baladam. Love to all. xxxx

10:40 "Oh Mahan Air, hospitality, customer service is a priority... that's what they teach us and that's what we are going to teach our employees" - As a marketer myself, this is perfection.
Imagine how great this airline would be without all the sanctions. Iran is on my bucket list. Thanks to you and Drew Binsky.
I am fully Iranian through blood, and my whole family raves about the beauty of Iran. I really want to go.
Interesting video and yes drew binskys trip to Iran his videos were great . surprised they didn't mess with him or give him grief for being Jewish....
Anyone who knows history should know that Iran is a must visit
Get rid of islamists and the mullahs and iran will prosper again
Cool even though. It was probably hot it was cool
I am an Arab. I love Iranians. They are very generous, more than us ! and kind. Very emotional ppl, it’s like they like u on the spot. I am so so sorry for what they are going though in their country. AND most of them are just GORGEOUS. I LOVE THEM.
Dear Rashed, thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately the shiet mullahs regime in my country is very intolerant against all & everyone. It demands total submission to their way of thinking & nothing else. It actually is a tyrannical regime which has no problem committing the worst criminal activities & torture not only against it's own fellow country women, children & men, but ANYONE who they feel is an obstacle to their power hungry regime.
And we Love arabian too❤❤
As an Iranian who hasn’t been back to Iran since 2011 Im in tears watching this. you are so amazing for flying there and showing the world a different side to Iran than what we see in the media

To be honest I believe 99% of all humans in the world are nice. Its just the governments and political issues that makes the world feels unsafe but thats not true. I remember one could fly Mahan Air from Germany via Tehran to Bangkok years ago. I´d fly with them to SOA immediatelly if reasonable priced and possible again. Its a safe and good airline. Don´t see any issues and obviously everywhere in the world there are people sharing the same hobby and interests when it comes to aviation. Thus: 👍
Especially your government with all the double standards… 😉
Politicians did not come from outer space and are part of the people
@@user-ob6ht9cs5c yes, but politicians are just a very small minority of the people living on earth
True, we are the 99%.
The one procent in every country, the elite, have more in common with the elites from the other countries than with their own people.
@@AudieHolland That might be but I doubt this counts for all people in power. As you can see at the moment its more or less just one guy, who troubles the entire world with his actions.
Iran is a country I always wanted to visit. I hear the people are so hospitable & incredibly welcoming. I’ve only ever seen pictures of Tehran but it looks stunning. It’s rich history I’m dying to explore. Btw the business class interior reminds me of western airline business class in the 80’s. Would have loved to have seen economy class as thats the only part I could afford. Great vid Josh. I’m off to watch the one on Iran Air now,
What an amazing airline! I would love to fly to Iran with Mahan Air in the future. The crew looked so nice!
Iran is one of my favorites countries as well.
What an amazing flight and hospitality.
Great content as always.
Thanks
I well remember as a child traveling with my mother and sister in Iran. We flew on Iran Air in DC-4 and DC-6 aircraft. Tehran to Esfahan to Shiraz and back. Quite an experience.
Great video, Josh. You are absolutely correct. One of my dearest friends is from Iran who lives in Switzerland now and there are no kinder more hospitable people in the world. Truly. Thank you for sharing this much needed perspective.
Incredible Josh! That A310 looked so clean and way more up to date than imagined for such an old plane! Impressive hospitality and great to see they went the extra mile and give you most memorable trip. Looking forward to seeing more videos from Iran. Safe travels
Wonderful review Josh. When you were chatting to Ahmid on the plane I could sense you welling-up with emotion as he said he would arrange a visit to Mahan Aviation, so much so I said to myself, it would make me cry...then you ended the interview with him by saying you 'felt like crying now', which I then did as I was so happy for you! Thanks for making an old man cry! As said, a wonderful review and what a beautiful plane. X
I flew with them back in like 2011 from Dusseldorf to Bangkok with a stopover in Tehran. The plane was an old Air France 747. They compensated the lack of onboard entertainment by serving one full meal after the other.
Interesting itinerary!
I had never thought about going to Iran before. However, based on your interactions with those Terrific crew members- wonderful human beings, I really want to go to Iran, now.
Oh wow…. The A310 was the very first Aircraft I was trained on when I started as a Flight Attendant 31 years ago. I loved this plan. We served many Destinations back then. From European Flights, to Narobi, Teheran and so on… thank you so much for this review.
You worked for LH?
The A310 looks much better than it did with Air Transat.
Great aircraft the A310.
wow looks amazing josh, i visited iran in 2004 and fell in love with the place. hoping to go again soon as its been WAY too long. the people are just the best so glad youre there and showing the world the brilliance of Iran. Although a little apprehensive about your next video! Can't wait!

thank you for visiting Iran and showing its beauty to the people of the world. An Iranian living in Nashville TN.
The Takeoff Sound is just incredible like in the good old days! Crazy that the A310 have a outside cam and WLAN! I hope to fly to Iran next year 😍 Thanks for this awesome trip Report!
My best friend is Iranian and the way they treat you like a member of there family whether they know you or not is heart warming. I welcome the day I will be able to travel there and meet the rest of my friends family and see the culture and beauty of the people.
This is without a doubt a bucket list airline for me. The fact that that A310 is 32 years old and in immaculate condition is amazing! Especially considering it is heavily sanctioned, it shows how much Mayan Air is committed to an excellent passenger experience!
Although I have not been back home for many years now I am very proud of the people and our aviation industry back home. How awesome it would be to get more 321s and some 350s for Iran Air:) - Thanks for visiting Iran. Hope your stay was an amazing one.
So glad we got to hear those GE’s roar into life! The 310 is an awesome aircraft - I think Air Transat might still be operating a couple too!
Sadly no….they retired them all for the A321Neo
This was another great review. Thank you, Josh! Your comments at the end are very true. We may not agree with a certain government and its actions, but we should always be open to and respectful of a country's people and culture.
Honestly the Iranian government gets to have WAY more complaints about the US government than the other way around.

That's a lovely noise from those engines and it really looks like a great experience. So cool to see Mahan still operates these A310.
Yes, I was thinking the same. When I flew the 310 the first time I was immediately struck by the different sound of an Airbus (they were GM Engines) to the Boeing. This was probably back in the 80s. Hearing the sound here it brought back old memories. I flew so on many SAA 310. The aircraft is actually super spacious and airy.
That station manager was so nice! I can't wait to see more of your adventures from Iran.
Great review Josh, on what was possibly the perfect trip. People don't always see the pilots or the ground staff that also work hard for the airline, but they always see and remember the cabin staff and service. This is where the "rubber meets the road", and the staff on this flight were fantastic. Well done to all, and I loved Iran - was there in 2015.
I really like how kind the station manager was to you… amazing how me was a subscriber. You do a great job teaching us new things about all the different cultures. Fly safe my friend
As an Iranian, I’m happy that you had a good experience and also thank you for sharing this so more people around the world can be less scared of Iran 😁
❤😊 Iran❤❤
Iran is currently a level 4 risk. Not safe to travel to. If you're trying to say the news reports of Iran are incorrect, I think I'll pass since it's the same level as north korea. North koreans say good things about that country as well. And it looks pretty too. But that doesn't mean anyone should step for in it.
@@lesterine77 No one has invited you to come and visit, so no need to justify why you won’t go.

You can tell how excited you were to board this plane. And that excitement never stopped throughout your entire flight. Meals looked great. Plane looked spotless. Great review most assuredly deserved.
A rare treat. Thanks Josh.
Thank you Josh for another wonderful adventure. As a United States citizen I could not imagine travelling to Iran. In the current political enviroment. I do agree with you. The government of Iran does not reflect on the people of the country. They truly seemed wonderful. Can't wait for the next episode. Thanks again Josh.
Are you really this ignorant to not understand why Iran despises america??? Seriously?? Go read a history book smh.
Great video Josh--as always. Thanks for taking us along with you on Mahan Air. I have dozens of cups from various airlines, but none from Middle East carriers. Stay safe.
Hey Josh. Really enjoyed this video. What a great job. Thank you for letting us live vicariously through your travels.
This is a nice review Josh. When everyone is in a great mood like that, it just makes the travel experience so much more enjoyable and less stressful.
19:26 Exactly right mate. I agree with that message 100%. Also, almost all media have their agenda that they want to push. Some of the nicest people I have met were from that part of the world.
They treat LGBT people terribly
Hi Josh! This is the first time I commented on a vid of yours (but I've been a subscriber for far longer). I liked this vid and do agree w/ your sentiments about Iran and that kind of situation. I understand. However, it's not the mainstream news media that bears the problem alone. The surge on the global stage of social media bears the brunt of the bigger problem. The irony won't be lost on you that you're part of it. Still, I'm so glad and happy that you're able to keep on doing what you love to do and letting your audience share your "adventures". Keep Smiling always!👌😉👍
You’re an amazing flight vlogger,Josh!
Lived in Iran in '77 & '78. Yes, it was a very different time but I suspect the people are every bit as warm and friendly now as they were then.
Watched your return trip on Iran Air earlier this morning and I must admit, it was very much the same back in the late 70s albeit, we flew a 727 from Isfahan to Tehran as things were the beginning stages of unravel politically. We spent just one night in a hotel closer to the airport and were awakened to gunfire in the early morning hours with my father being quite motivated to get us home. If I remember correctly, we flew a KLM 747 to JFK?
A further note about the state of affairs in Iran, imagine being sanctioned to the extent these people have been for so many years? Especially after fighting a horrific war with Iraq all throughout the 80s and with such huge loss of life? Imagine further that the only reason the sanctions were put in place is because the 'new' Iranian government refused to play ball with the US gov on oil profits as they finally got tired of being told what they would do, when they would do it and with whom they were allowed to associate with? Yes, it's much, much deeper than that and the history of the Iranian people being either subjugated or enslaved by their neighbors or the West has been long known.
The country itself has immense historical and cultural value, not to mention its resources. The people of Iran were incredibly warm and inviting when I lived there. It's truly a shame that due to current political and religious ideology differences, how western media has portrayed Iran since 1979, AND the way in which Iran's resources were exploited by the West during the 20th century, very few 'outsiders' get to experience this land of incredible history and culture.
Cool story man! I lived there in 1975 as 10 year old (persian dad american mom)...i spoke no farsi but went to a persian school...that was a trip! The people were incredible and I enjoyed my time there. Summers in the Caspian sea, skiing in the mountains, let me tell you about the food...oh boy!!! Even as a kid I sensed growing anti american feelings growing, probably why we came back to the states. I was pretty depressed when I came back and had to readjust to American life as a young teen...but it all worked out.
Why don't you preach all that to your government my friend?
A310 is such an amazing aircraft, I flew it some years ago with Sata Air Acores from PDL to LIS.
I never was in Iran, but all the people visiting Iran are telling stories how friendly the Iranias are with an amazing hospitality and they are also very curious to talk to people from outside. So don't listen to the lies all mainstream medias are telling you about Iran!
Its not the fault of the ordinary Iranian that they are ruled by a fundamentalist Islamic government.
Lot of young people there have pretty western mentality. They listen to american music, speak english and so on, It is just hard for them to study or move to other countries
Please fly on Turkish airlines or Qatar airways. Don't take any unnecessary risks getting there.
I absolutely loved this review! You are so right about the Iranian people. They are really friendly and hospitable.
Great work as always! The station manager is the right guy in the right job. Very fun video to watch.
I am from Iran, and I like to write this sentence that you told with gold: Sometimes, the people of the country are very different to the government that represents them😪. Thank you for this video.
Many of us understand. 😏
I agree, but I would add that the people then have an obligation to change their government!

Iran's air fleet is heavily sanctioned. You wouldn't want to fly on any Iranian airlines. They can't get airplane parts like other airlines.

Amazing to see this. I’ve been to Tehran several times and stayed at that exact same hotel. Agree 100% that the Iranian people are the most genuinely welcoming people you can hope to meet.
Old planes, specially those maintained by Iranian airlines are generally quite safe. They maintain them well despite their age. But flying to Iran is definitely a high risk thing to do
und dann gehst du nach Ägypten und in andere arabische Länder
@@arshiaseyyedshakeri890 Well, it's unsafe for the western spies. Go there as a tourist no problem. I've been there few times, they suspected me for espionage but we must consider that cause Iran heavily got targeted by the westerners.

Amazing Video Josh! A310 is always something special.
Sanctions have proven Iran is a sophisticated, clean and hard working Country and peoples.
It’s the government that’s bad, not the people, stop sanctioning the people, sanction the leaders, the leaders take away the rights of everyone and threaten other countries, not the people, in no way would it affect nato badly if an Iranian airline got a few new planes.

It's sad that ordinary Iranians have to endure hardships as a result of the sanctions but the sanctions are in place for a reason. Iran is not safe for tourists from certain countries as the unjust imprisonment of some genuine tourists proves. Great video. 👍
