This airline gives a great priority to safety, i work as a technician and had worked on this flight, they don't try cost cutting like other aircrafts mainly on the wheels and brakes
Great video! I flew with Kam Air last year, and was upgraded to Business Class on the return flight. The single plane that has Business was ex Air Tahiti Nui, and still featured a wallpaper with tropical beaches… Good airline, much better than what I had expected.
@haiphucnguyen5861 You won't feel and see many differences if you just visit there for a few days as a tourist. It's a beautiful country just like many other comments here mentioned. You may see the differences only if you find a job, run a business, marry local people there, or live there for long-term. Just like the video said, if you are female and want to be a pilot in KAM Airlines, it may be difficult for now.
Flew Kam Air RT from DXB to KBL in Oct. '23 on a pair of their A340's as well as a couple of internal flights. The crews, including some women bursars, were always extremely kind and professional. The 'business class' on the A340 isn't 2-2-2 but a very odd 2-4-2 economy layout; the middle section collapses down to a 2-3-2 in the first row (I was in 3A). Even more bizarre is that the bulkhead and bathroom exterior wallpaper wrap is shots of ... Bora Bora, Tahiti (who says that flying isn't aspirational?🙃)
@@l4zr_boy "Should we maybe take down the Tahiti photos?" "Nah, let's leave it up and wait for someone to ask where in Afghanistan it is, then we can all point and laugh at him." "Good idea, boss!"
I'm from Afghanistan, but I was born and raised in New Zealand. Even though I've never been to Afghanistan, the clip from 14:23 to 15:16 is stunning. It's such a beautiful country. I'm extremely saddened by what's currently happening in Afghanistan.
It's a drab, underdeveloped, poor, oppressive region. I'm sure the nature can be beautiful, but every man-made structure oozes "get the hell away from here".
I don't think there are any c-130s left in Afghanistan. Besides, there are Blackhawks, many UN planes, C208s, Quest Kodiak 100s, old Ariana A310s and A300B4, and 1 A320-200 of the bankrupt Safi Airways.
I was a pilot at Kam Air for over 2.5 years. I can confidently say that Kam Air is a well-organized airline with professional management. They strictly adhere to maintenance routines and ensure that their fleet is airworthy. Both cabin and flight crew undergo professional training to maintain high standards of safety. Thank you for the positive review, which not only shows the world but also our fellow Afghans that flying with Kam Air is 100% safe.
Hello, I wanted to reach out to you because I'm currently working on my thesis, focusing on Kam Air Airline. Since you have experience working there, any piece of information or insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
And when there are Russian pilots, and; Kam Air don't buy enough fuel oh and mountains! Of course, that never happened, multiple times! And; that was before the taliban, boy now must be peddle power!
You can see at 6:36 that the signs above are still in spanish. It says "life vest is below your seat". It should be the same as to when the plane was flying with Iberia.
This is interesting, I rode that exact plane (former RP-C3436) from Manila to Auckland and the cabin there looks way better than I expected with the newer seats they installed. I waited for this trip report since I saw the A340 in a preview of another video of yours and I am surprised Kam Air is actually a pretty good airline given their situation. Thank you for the continuous aviation content!
I'm proud of my country. Proud of our hospitable, generous people. Afghanistan might be a poor country, but our people are kind, generous, hospitable. Another thing that makes me proud of my people is how clean they are. When it comes to hygiene, we take it very seriously.
Loved the video. It was very nice to see the review of Kam Air. I know it isn’t your channel’s mission, but I honestly would have loved to know more about what your time on the ground in Kabul was like.
Got to admit,I never even knew flights to Afghanistan were even a thing.Having said that,I'd happily fly that route just because it's a 343 and I've only flown the 346.Great review David as you always do.
Afghanistan is a really beautiful country, I myself have been there twice after the takeover of the Taliban. I met some really cool and friendly people there.
Honestly, I'm impressed wit cleanliness of the aircraft and the meal option onboard Kam Air. Well done to them, you can clearly see they try their very best. 😍
Kicking off 2024 with one of my favorite aircraft. Thanks! Also I'm praying you to review Starlux, Air Premia, Etihad Residence in 2023, Condor and JetBlue. I'm so ready for everything you guys have in 2024
This is certainly one of the rarest airline reviews on RUclips! And once you leave Afghanistan, could you review Ariana Afghan’s Airbus 310? Love from Australia! 🇦🇺
I really love how you objectively rates Kam Air with best consideration to its current eco-socio-political aspects of Afghanistan. Some may say that the airline services is bare minimun, but those bare minimums for most of Afghani people are in fact a luxury. Thanks for the review btw
The A-340 of Kam Air played an important role in the evacuation of Kabul in August 2021. One of them had been used to evacuate a girl school to Rwanda for example. It was possible to track them on FR24 and to spot them in the news reportage made at Kabul airport at that time.
Thanks a lot for this fantastic video and review. Never flown Kam Air before, however used to work at a hotel in Bulgaria where their 737 pilots were getting training and had a lot of fantastic and mega interesting discussions with their pilots back in 2019.
Thanks for sharing yoir experience on a mysterious airline that not everyone would dare to try! The cabin was very impressive for an airline at this ages. I also didn't expect to there'd be that much legroom.
Finally a new video😍 wow flight to Afghanistan, You really have to have courage and love this world (aviation) to do it, I respect you, these are rare videos that make you really special, thank you bro!!
Nice video! Really surprised with Kam Air's service! Altough their aircraft are quite oudated, they are pretty well mantained. It made me remember of Safi Airways. Too bad that they aren't fliyng anymore. During its best year, Safi Airways got clearance to fly to the EU (Germany) and North America (Canada). Another thing, that since 2021, when the former goverment was ousted by the Taliban, I was wondering about the visa and immigration procedures, as the Afghan embassies are not controlled by them. Once again, congrats for the video! Keep up the good work!
Aside from your coverage of airlines and your dedication to it, as an Afghan I loved your remarks on the government and the privilege of a westerners perspective. Nowadays there are a lot of youtubers who travel there and proudly name their videos “traveling to the most dangerous country in the world” ignoring how the local population and minorities suffer under the current regime. They supposedly try to portray the regime from “non mainstream” perspective. Thanks man! 🫡
Try Sharp Airlines, a regional airline from Victoria, Australia, and their base is in Launceston, Tasmania. They operate Swearingen Metroliners, and area very nice small airline to use.
Great flight. Another new destination/country in this channel and another new airline. I hope you also try the state owned one to another new country who haven't visited yet.
Always a pleasure to watch your reviews, and I'm impressed with the world wide part in the end...i hope you guys live up to it.... Can you please review the new Air India A350...its currently flying domestic for few months before moving to international routes
Not bad for kam air. I had a flight to istanbul from europe with anadolu jet. Daughter company of turkish airlines. Of course in economy. They only handed a sandwich per person with a bottle of water.

Some interesting stuff to be see on landing and taxiing in: Mi-8 helicopters, Antonov An-24s and 26s, C-130s, and a couple of sad looking 727s

It operates under a dictatorship mate. If it doesn’t have a true equality outlook it’s hardly ‘well managed’
