@JoshCahill Bro, Most of the people you saw skipping the line are either corrupt politicians and/ or their relatives ""especially"" in First Class, there's no way the crew would recognize this many people unless its arranged. The average monthly income in Iraq is around $500 and in many cases its way less than that so $2400 is just impossible for an average Joe. there's a reason why I never traveled with Iraqi Airways, its just disastrous and from way they conduct themselves you can rightfully assume that they don't receive proper training and they rob people. I'd rather pay extra and travel with Qatar Airways than deal with this crap ,its just embarrassing.

Josh, thx dor your honest assessment of this flight. I am a US Army veteran and flew on Kuwait airways economy class which was way better than what you experienced.
Normally, when employees (in whatever context) behave in this way, it´s because there´s a whole systems that allows it to happen. We´re not talking about a crew´s behavior, but about an organizational culture.
I loved the invisible menus and head phones! But on a serious note, yeah this was a really bad product! Being offered food (economy at that) in a cardboard lunch box is just crazy! And the crew....What crew? I bet Iran's national carrier has a better Business Class service than Iraqi AW?!
@@tripleseven7050 I’m assuming you work for the airline. You’re obviously aware that this video will be seen by many many people and that somebody will soon be losing their job/jobs. Quite right too, this product is a national embarrassment. It’s not that there is a ‘deficiency’ in service, it literlally does not exist………the crew didn’t even turn up 🤣🤣 The ticket price is now 1,666$ but when he purchased it was 2444$. Prices change according to demand. I fly Turkish, every time to Baghdad.
I am Iraqi and I can't stand traveling with Iraqi Airways because it is very bad. Thank you for sharing your experience. Maybe it will be a lesson for them to improve their services.
I’ve been to Iraq. Not surprised at the revelation that they don’t like to work. I remember seeing a “construction project”, which amounted to a small footbridge about 20 feet long being built over a ditch. A solid 45 min of work per day was done. After months of seeing them sit around under shade all day they just abandoned the project and went on to take breaks somewhere else.
Unfortunately, this is very true in almost all Petro Producing Countries. Venezuela, Nigeria, Brunei, Kuwait…. I often tell my Venezuelan Friend, oil was not a blessing to your country, but in fact a Curse!
Josh i love watching your videos, they feel so raw and original, this truly gives a great direction to customers. This flight is truly eye-opening. Unbelievable
Erbil is a nice place which really came alive again after the IS threat was gone. Around the old Citadel is a great place to wander around. Every time I fly from Europe to DXB, DOH, AUH I always like to see Erbil since it's so easy to recognise. Once I had a domestic flight on Iraqi airways (Erbil - Baghdad) on a rundown 737 and wasn't impressed with the crew either.
Rn I’m 6:12 in the video, and as an Iraqi I confirm everything you said. It’s like you’re living in here without living. You summed it all up, Iraq has potential but its people just don’t do their jobs properly. Well said
My dad told me he flew on Iraqi Airways on the boeing 747 in first class when he was 13, it would have been around 1986. He told me that it was the best flight experiences he has ever had (it was his first flight outside the country). It is a shame to see how much the service quality has dropped since then.
Thanks for highlighting this matter, you've done a brave honest review and Iraqi Airways is lucky to have someone who knows the global airline standards, with all being said in the video I want to point out something.. Iraqis , in Iraq they kind of cannot criticize any services provider!! They feel like you curse them or you under-estimate them about the job they do so we always as customers even remain silent or not come back because we are not customer service oriented so on ..
That Iraqi crew should get an award for the "most useless and unprofessional" air crew 😂😂 I will avoid IraqiAir at all costs ! Probably nobody on that flight ( apart from Josh !) has actually paid for their ticket anyway ! 😂😂
As a ..... , I already know. This is why they take their own food or more than likely have a special meal pre-prepared. Operating at a loss is fine if It's paid for by government. "It gets you places"
@@tripleseven7050 let me guess….you are either an equally incompetent employee of Iraq airways trying to cover for them or some stupid puppet they hired to glorify them?
No offense meant, but your comment sounds so naïve, Social Ghost... Iraq is not Denmark (your avatar has the Danish flag, so I suppose you're Danish). Terrible management? Yes, definitely. But lack of training? Perhaps, but first you'd have to convince both the management to offer the training and then the crew to accept it and later to actually use what they were supposed to learn... Nepotism and corruption are the real reasons. They probably got the job because they are the nephew or niece of someone who is a friend of a friend of another person to whom an airline official is related or owes some favor. In turn, that airline official got HIS job (I wrote "his" because it would be unlikely to be a woman in Iraq) through similar connections, only more powerful (some politician or rich and influential man, and the distinction between them is often blurred in Iraq). The higher ranking one is, the more powerful those connections were. Merit, skill, knowledge? What are those words? 🤔 If you were thinking along the lines of just "ineffective and incompetent management", that doesn't even scratch the surface!

It's in Iraq already a year ago
It's got into service for 1 and a half year by now, still looks fine, but the problem is with the terrible service on the plane, in fact their service is improved, 10 years ago it was a disasterous service on the board of the green airlines of Iraq

Great Video Josh. You nailed it with their service.
Your friend is an awesome tour guide. I would've chosen road trip as well. Please take us on more tours after your flight. I love this!
The dig at Sam Chui had me laughing 😂😂 used to watch his videos a lot but stopped after I realised how fake they were. Rarely does he ever do negative reviews.
Sam Chui is a complete fake as with his reviews
that is how he continues to be able to do behind the scene videos with vip access to everywhere he wants.
Same!👍
That's because the airlines pay him instead of the other way around.
Where have you been bro...
For some noteable Airline is fine, but for questionable airline don't expect the same level treatment as he got in his video..
Love this video. And so special, your tour... Two big thumbs up for the driver Shayan as wel, great guy to! A real ambassador for his country. Have a great day!
For $2400 and you didn’t even get a “reach around”? You definitely took one for the team. 😂
@@tripleseven7050lol. What did he "lie" about ?
@@tripleseven7050 if at all Iraqi Airways is somehow cheaper on business class flights between Baghdad and Malaysia, its because no one else wants to fly to Baghdad. that doesnt mean that flight was worth $2400 or even $1666 is worthwhile at all. That moeny could have been far better use
@@tripleseven7050 Interesting. Why would Josh lie ? He has no motive to do so. He isn't like a certain other RUclips airline reviewer who gets paid/comp'd by the airline to give good reviews. Of course, this is just one flight so it may just be bad luck but it's what we have to go on. Do you work for Iraqi Airways ?
Gross and weird
@@darren_anscombeHe is just a sore employee of an airplane that Josh has previously criticized.😂😂
Thanks Josh loved the road-trip to Mosul very interesting great review as always 🫡
awesome vlog, loved seeing Bagdad. I remember flying up the corridor between Iraq and Iran and watching the fighter jets patrolling and we were beside them
I never imagined airlines reviews could be this addictive, the food is always the best part.
Wow Josh you don't half put yourself through things for us to see.
Thanks for taking one for the team.
I've never seen anyone smile so much through such an uncomfortable situation.
God forbid if there was accident, it would be everyman for themselves, the flight crew would be the 1st out if the door😂
I fly Air Astana(a Kazakh airline) frequently in economy and their cattering service in economy is anyday 10 times better than the business class in Iraqi airways
Yeah, Josh has praised Air Astana for value and service so they are the opposite end of the scale haha.
But its easy
Air Astana is a brilliant airline. I loved their service and comfort of the flight.
I really enjoyed the travel video after your flight and how you showed some of the country and people. I hope you do more of these types of videos.
Josh, thx dor your honest assessment of this flight. I am a US Army veteran and flew on Kuwait airways economy class which was way better than what you experienced.
They turned the Dreamliner into Disappointment-liner 🤦🏻♂️
Nightmareliner
The fearliner
Disasterliner
And he spent 2400 dollars on this flight. Really sucks.
It’s not that there is a ‘deficiency’ in service, it literlally does not exist………the crew didn’t even turn up 🤣🤣
The ticket price is now 1,666$ but when he purchased it was 2444$. Prices change according to demand.
I fly Turkish, every time to Baghdad.
Just discovered your channel, what a treat, i love your honesty and lighthearted approach, travel safely friend

Great miming the review on the hard product! The sarcasm helps buffer the blow of the reality of the unfortunate experience.
Thank for your honesty bro
The tour of Iraq was awesome, thank you for that.
cannot wait to hear if the airline reply or contact you

Rn I’m 6:12 in the video, and as an Iraqi I confirm everything you said. It’s like you’re living in here without living. You summed it all up, Iraq has potential but its people just don’t do their jobs properly. Well said
Loved this video. Loved you taking us on your road trip
My dad told me he flew on Iraqi Airways on the boeing 747 in first class when he was 13, it would have been around 1986. He told me that it was the best flight experiences he has ever had (it was his first flight outside the country). It is a shame to see how much the service quality has dropped since then.

From my experience, personnel with that level of careless attitude comes from terrible management and serious lack of training / coaching of staff
@@tripleseven7050 What did he lie about?
@@tripleseven7050 let me guess….you are either an equally incompetent employee of Iraq airways trying to cover for them or some stupid puppet they hired to glorify them?
@@tripleseven7050 let me guess…you are someone working for or hired by Iraq Airways?
You shouldn't defend them here , it's their fault in reality
If you were thinking along the lines of just "ineffective and incompetent management", that doesn't even scratch the surface!
The last part of your video, in regards to how the Iraqi airways can change, was spot on. Hopefully with a litte bit of time things will get better.

As an Iraqi I am incredibly sorry for this treatment it does not represent us or our hospitality I wish you can come to my house and spend your vacation here and I'll make it up for you, as you said the airline is full of corruption and nepotism jobs go to family members or friends etc. as is with everything having to do with the Iraqi government which is a shame a country with this wealth should be comparable to the U.A.E or Saudi Arabia.

such a lovely feedback Mr Garrett. Thank you, for being so uplifting and positive in this world of uncertainty.
Baghdad is a large city and internationally known for many decades, despite the hardships or difficulties, so there's no reason why they can't have a world class service. International flights go over Baghdad all the time.
Because of corruption and the fact the customer service is not a big deal
