I was fortunate enough once to be upgraded to SAS Business on a transatlantic flight, and while it was amazing, I found myself almost feeling... guilty? It's hard to explain, but as someone who grew up relatively poor, having all these flight attendants do anything anyone could realistically want, including making my seat into a bed, made me sympathize with them. It's somewhat of a shock to actually experience what it really means to buy someone's service to you. It was a surreal feeling.

I get sentiment, but it is literally their job. I can only speak for myself here but as someonw who did housekeeping for rich clients mansions for 4 years (literally serving people lmao) It always felt condescending whenever my clients would be like "oh you don't need to do that!" Or felt obviously guilty for using my services. Like, it's ok it's literally my job! 🤣
I the only time I really felt humiliated working was when people went out of their way to make my job harder (had someone literally drop trash right in front of me and then act like I wasn't even there🙃) or treated me like I wasn't human but a robot who only exists to serve them. Thankfully my experiences have been mostly positive!

I am one of the lucky few that got to travel first class for free. I was flying back from Oklahoma to Frankfurt Germany and flew out of Dallas, (I was a soldier returning back Iraq) I was in uniform and an amazing man that I met in the terminal gave up his 10 hour first class seat and sat in coach.....I tried to say no, but he wasn't having it and insisted that I take his seat. It was crazy how amazingly I was treated in first class. I'm quite sure it wasn't anything close to what he experienced in the video, but it was the most comfortable and relaxing flight I have ever been on in my life, and I've flown all over the world.

I have never flown first class. I did fly QANTAS business class from the US to Sydney. It was a truly fantastic experience. 16 hours with PJs, a lie flat bed, snacks on demand, and great food was a vastly superior experience to the economy class flight to Asia I took 10 years previously in the middle seat of the middle aisle. I arrived completely rested. It was a once in a lifetime experience I can't afford to repeat, but it was worth it.

@@xxunebissexx I used to have anxiety about it but then I joined the military and had to fly. Every time I got on a flight before that, I did it with someone else like my little sister who is terrified of flying. You know how it goes with social anxiety but you have a friend who is more anxious so your desire to help them outweighs your anxiety? It was kind of like that. I made sure I didn’t seem scared to make my sister feel better, and later because I didn’t feel like I could be scared in front of people when I was supposed to be brave as a soldier. But just one time flying while pretending I wasn’t scared really helped me realise that it wasn’t so bad after all. I’ve flown many times and nothing bad has happened outside of slight turbulence and missing flights. I always get myself a couple snacks, medicine like Benadryl advil and cough drops, prepare a nice long music playlist and dress comfortably and it really makes the experience much better. I’ve learned throughout the years as well that whatever happens will happen and there’s no reason to be so anxious about it. I have diagnosed anxiety, so it won’t stop it entirely but it does help to remind myself that no amount of worrying will change the outcome of anything.
Tl;dr I had to fly and pretended I wasn’t scared and then I realised it wasn’t so bad, and I just made myself as comfy as possible to pass the time. Take some sleep aid and take a nap to make the time fly faster if needed

Upgraded to BA First Class at Heathrow during pandemic because it was offered relatively cheap and we thought - why not? Not much difference between business and first IMO on BA but going through the designated security was cool and had the very best scrambled eggs I've ever had in my life in the lounge. I still dream about those eggs. 😁

I traveled business class (not first class) on Air France and was soooooo happy with that. I sleep on flights, so just being able to actually lie down in my seat was the cat's meow. I can bring my own food, own pj's, own beverages, etc. Just give me the "bed". I despise long flights, esp. over an ocean (eek), so I prefer to sleep through it. No need to wake me for anything, no matter how great the service is.I will say, though, that I could probably acclimate pretty quickly to this supreme service. :)

      SURAH AL MULK
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -
[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?
Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.
And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.
And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.
When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.
      It almost bursts with rage.
Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, “Did there not come to you a warner?”
They will say,” Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, ‘Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'”
And they will say, “If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze.”
And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.
Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.
And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?
It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.
Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?
Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.
And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?
Say, “It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.”
Say, “It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.”
And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?”
Say, “The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner.”
But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, “This is that for which you used to call.”
Say, [O Muhammad], “Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?”
Say, “He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error.”
Say, “Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?”
