Behind the Scenes - How Emirates Train Their New Cabin Crew?

- Опубликовано: 9 май 2024
- I visited the Emirates Aviation Training College in Dubai where Emirates train their cabin crew. The new Emirates cabin crew (ab initio) went through an intensive 8 weeks of training and exams to be qualified to fly.
I was given a behind-the-scenes tour of Emirates new cabin crew training including safety and emergency procedure (SEP) such as sliding, aircraft ditching, smoke and fire in the cabin. Then I observed First Aid Training (GMT) including CPR and newborn baby delivery. After that, I visited the image and uniform to see how the new flight attendants get groomed to Emirates standard. Last, I went inside the mock-up aircraft trainer to observe the new cabin crew service delivery.
Emirates Aviation Training College is the world's largest Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 training facility- including flight simulators, pool for ditching exercises, emergency slides and real firefighting simulators. Mock cabin interiors, specialised training rooms and virtual, game-based training scenarios complete the immersive and realistic training environment.
On average, 120 new cabin crew graduate from the Emirates Aviation Training College each week.
As a Cabin Crew at Emirates and I can confirm, the training is very intensive and stressful, however I’ve made amazing memories from this college, from the very professional and thorough trainers to how the company treated us as employees. I always felt like it wasn’t just a company, more like a community. Amazing experience and I would do anything to experience it again.
Blah blah blah
@Glurp puffloid What a lovely comment! Thank you for that, and yes, Emirates is the best when it comes to Safety and Emergency Proceedures.

They are not just serving food and beverage to passengers, they are saving people's lives. Much respect and love.
how?
They are so good
When a plane crashes everyone dies so shut up. These are just for show
@@miaipad8989 Not in every case. These safety measures aren’t only taken when the plane crashes 🗿 What if a pregnant woman went into labour? And the flight attendants are helping her? Is that also for “show”?

I always respected cabin crew because I have seen passengers treating them rudely. After seeing this my respect got deeper for them. They put so much efforts and patience for their training and during their job. It’s not all about glamour the world see, these people risks their lives to save passengers.
They deserve much more appreciation and recognition from world.
It’s so disgusting seeing people being rude to these incredible people.

This brings back memories. I was a flight attendant for Pan Am from 1977-1991 when they closed. I went to Northwest which became Delta 1991-2006 . When I started the world was different, security wasn't as strict, people still dressed appropriately. Emirates and other international carriers still have what I would remember to be old fashioned ways and that is a great way to be! That's one big reason you rarely hear of an international carrier going out of business. What a beautiful college, Emirates!
I traveled from Dubai to New York last March 6th on the A380. One passenger got sick and needed medical assistance. The flight attendants were quick and efficient they did a CPR and then I heard they made the call for a doctor exactly how this video shows. The training pays off well. Good job Emirates my favorite airline.
Exactly my point, they have to be prepared for everything.
They are going to be doing a LOT more of that now we have millions dying of heart attacks & strokes due to that shit people put in their arms

Same I love Emirates as well
It’s interesting to see behind the scenes of this facility, as I’ve drove past the facility in Dubai. In my opinion, flight attendants are underrated and training is rigorous.
A good friend of mine flies for JetBlue. What Emirates is doing is SOP but very well done. Cabin crew are indeed very underrated.

People will see this as a “fun” way of training but boy let me tell you how stressful those training period are especially for the Initial Crew (those who have no prior experience as cabin crew) 😭 Easily the hardest 3 months of my life, even harder than my under grades lmao. I still can’t believe I’m able to crammed 1400 pages worth of knowledges (in english, not my tongue mind you!) in those times and managed to succeed lol
Good luck for anyone who wants to be a cabin crew! See you on board someday soon!
I can definitely relate to this :) I was a cabin crew for 1 year and the training course was the hardest part of the journey. The amount of studying can be overwhelming and the time at your disposal is very limited!
How i wish i can join the crew I've been applying for a very long time but to no avail

18:30, just imagine that: all the way from central asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgizstan) to north and south america (Mexico, Brasil) in the middle east (and that's aside from many other nationalities that work in Emirate). different cultures, backgrounds and languages melted in the aviation industry pot.. by the way when Sam asks about their countries of origin that shows respect and interest. people love it actually. Thank you Sam.
that's so true!

This is my second time flying with Emirates. World class service everytime✨️
i love how all these nationalities work together
I'm currently going through this training with Emirates!! Really awesome :) first operational flight at the end of April to Cape Town ^^

Very interesting insight into the extensive training that Emirates cabin crew need to undertake. Incredible how many skillsets the cabin crew need to master. Most passengers take all this for granted when travelling on Emirates. Although considered by many to be glamorous it is actually a very tough job. All credit to the Emirates cabin crew and to Sam Chui for making this great VDO. 👍👍✈🛩

Super cool to get a glimpse into the special training and Sam is such a lovable dork during it all. You can tell he really enjoys himself while exploring and learning about the planes/airlines.

Brings back a lot of amazing memories.
I was blessed to be a part of Emirates at its early days.
Thank you Emirates💗
Impressive!
When I did CPR training a few years ago, the instructor told me that the heart massage part is more important than breathing in because the victim still has oxygen inside their blood. But without heart massage, the oxygen will not be transported throughout the body.
Marvelous! Sam - you did a great job of demonstrating the various stages of crew training. i enjoyed it immensely and would like to congratulate you and the trainees for jumping into that cold water! What a great behind-the-scenes look.
As someone who wants to be a flight attendant and whose final goal is working in emirates, seeing 2 flight attendants from Brazil just made it so much more personal. Great video, thank you.
Go for it, I would love to try for their interview here in Malaysia this month hopefully. Wish me luck 😥🥲❤️🙏🏽
So interesting how they do their training! Even though air travel is super safe I love to see that airlines take the time and courage to train the crew just in case.
I really hope the students knowledge that they're living someone's dream, great job Sam!
This shows how Emirates Airlines invest on Passengers safety. Really appreciable 👏👏👏👏👏👏
The aviation industry has been recovered from the pandemic, now the Emirates have the busy traffic in the entire network, all flight quitely fully booked, Long live Emirates 🔥
That's wonderful news. Thanks for making my day
My uncle works here at this crew training institute, exactly where you were in this video! He works as an administrator. Thank you for showing this place in this video, I’ve been here before and this place is underrated but also FUN! You should definitely tour this place some time. I would recommend the food!
Just flew back last week from Dubai to Toronto via Emirates. Crew was amazing, service delivery was excellent. Glad to watch how hard they put their efforts to train themselves and how much emirates is focused on customer centric services.
i love these kinda videos because I'm going to try to apply for cabin crew after I graduate and even though I have a friend who is cabin crew it's still hard to imagine how it's actually like and this gave me such a clear insight. those books though omg
Hi
Sam that was such a positive experience to watch. The eagerness of the trainees and the superb professionalism of the trainers. They all worked so hard and looked amazing in their uniforms. I really got a feeling of the obvious pride of the new mwmers and the trainers. That was quite emotional right at the end where you praised them and said goodbye to the trainees and hello as a future passenger. Great vid.
One of the best crew training in the world especially when it comes to safety and security..Thanks you so much SAM for sharing with us this good experience you had
Had so many good memories in this magic training building with people from every corner of this planet. Thanks Sam for bringing me back again!
I was in the same position 30 years ago with Cathay Pacific. This episode brings me lots of memories!
I just love how supportive Sam is to the new trainees. Great video!!
I wish I could watch this without any end, I LOVE THIS that much. Mad respect for the cabin crew ❤️
This might be my favorite video of yours, Sam. It's so cool to go behind the scenes into how flight attendants are trained.
Yes, he must be hitting on these girls isn't it????
It's one of my ultimate dreams to fly on an A380 and meet as many Emirates Crews as possible. I have so much respect and love for crews.
This is absolutely amazing! And what a treat it must have been for the trainees to have you join them in training!
These flight attendants are amazing 😻
What an amazing amount of training they go through. And on top of all that, learning synchronized swimming 7:22 to boot!
FANTASTIC video Sam, you have moved into the big leagues of documentaries in aviation. These newbies are in for one heck of a ride as this is an extremely difficult career,r but also very rewarding too! THANK YOU!
Absolutely-I flew for 28 years …it was so different in my days but the life time friends is priceless. And been in an emergency that was around the world
Would love to fly on emirates now…amazing professionalism, training and diversity. Love the uniforms they look Amazing. Thank you Sam
Very nice to see people from Brazil having this amazing training!
This is one of my favorite Sam Chui video, because it shows a different side of aviation that the average person never sees. I love the way he participated in the Emirates training program as one of the passengers, then gave them encouragement as they were about to graduate.
Hi Sam, amazing access. From the passenger seat to the training center. You continue to be the world's premier passenger. I still love your first video from the A380 shot on the flight from Sydney to LA. Cheers...
That was so interesting to watch all the lessons that Crew has to be mastered. Thank you Sam for sharing!
Hi Sam, thank you for a breathtaking tour inside Emirates - one of my favourite airlines! Absolutely amazing insight. I follow you and your videos for many years and want to express my appreciation to your amazing work. I hope one day to meet you in flight
Thank you dear Sam for sharing this amazing training sessions organized by the Emirates family. The training sessions especially in case of unpleasant situations on board were so well explained. A big salute to all the trainees and the staff who trained them..
I strongly believe all other airline companies across the world should adopt similar sessions for their new joiners so as to make everyone life on board easier in case of such unplanned events..
An 💯 out of 💯 for the content.. looking forward to meet you one day Sam with the grace of almighty.. once again thank you 👌👍.
That building design looks amazing! I like how part of the building looks like the plane fuselage with the wing and everything. Amazing video Sam
Hey Sam! Its incredible to see how the cabin crew train themselves...And your videos are amazing and so knowledgeable❤
Tons of Thanks Mr.Sam for showing the complete crew training. There is lot of happening behind the scenes to train the newly inducted crew. Hats of to the trainers in moulding the Emirates crew which is the best airlines in the aviation world.
Once again Thanks to Sam for bringing this to the world.

This made me feel so much pride for the crew and the airline in general. I hope I fly with Emirates soon! ❤

Didn’t realise so much was involved. Respect to those cabin crew, I’d definitely feel safe on emirates.
I did laugh when the babies head popped out though 😆
Great video. Learned so much about Emirates and cabin crew training but also as a person who will take flights I think very helpful to know what to expect in disasters.

Sam, that was awesome! Emirates is a first-class airline (no pun intended) and from what I see in your videos, everything they do is excellent. What an amazing training college they have! Thank you Sam, and Emirates 👍
What a cool video, thanks for showing us behind the scenes of training to be a flight attendent at Emirates 😀
Thank you for the great vlog! I’m an ex EK cabin crew, now I work for a different airline. My current airline has a great reputation of safety and engineering. It’s one of the oldest airlines in the world, but I must say Emirates Ab-initio training was more intense and practical. It’s so nice to see one of my Ab-initio trainers in this video!
which airline are you talking about?
why did you leave emirates and was it hard to get into?

Hats off to all those who served in this line of work once more.
Please don’t ever disrespect flight attendants, they are doing really hard job. I feel for them..
That was a pretty cool video. The only international airline I have travelled with is Emirates but you can see from this show just how well the Cabin Crew are trained. Like everything else Emirates ...... Perfection. Thanks Sam, good job!!!!

they are trained well. look at those facilities. amazing. emirates is the best.
Amazing work Sam. This video just stole my heart. Thankyou so much for making this video as its very inspiring and informative.❤
In addition to the onboard safety demonstration, I do believe that a video like this should be watched by everyone that is going on a flight. The more the passengers know, the better! Thank you Sam for organising this for your viewers
Fabulous video!!!! There's so mush of hard work with patience that goes behind the incredible service of Emirates airline.
I recently flew Emirates and had a great flight! They past out toys for children and the food was great.

This is brilliant. I feel like I am taking some of this away with me. Flight attendants are underrated and have so much responsibility.
I will say that about 3 years ago when I was flying on a Qantas aircraft the captain made an announcement mid flight asking for any doctors, medical personnel or nurses that might on board asking board if anyone could provide some assistance as there was a child that was having breathing difficulties. Myself (Nurse) and another nurse came forward to help the crew. Very eye-opening and all the adrenaline takes over in the moment. This happened on a Qantas aircraft travelling from Sydney to Lax back in 2017. The child's outcome was fine, we managed to remove the child to an open exit area where the child was able to gain more open space and airflow & from sponging the child down her temperature reduced slightly. At the time the mother was travelling with the unwell child and because the child was in a small space being in the window seat she could not get enough air between coughing fits.
It can be confronting but it would surprise you that sometimes even though there may be a doctor on board they have the right to refuse to give treatment. The crew were really good and appreciated the help that we were able to provide with a good outcome. Appreciation for this video, very informative to see from a passenger’s perspective of what the intensity of what flight crew have to go through before even being allowed to work on any of the Emirates aircraft. The Emirates training centre is amazing.
What an amazing video as always.
This was very interesting.
Keep it up.
Sam you are amazing in these videos. What intricate training. I think it's very smart and stunning. A very high standard which is set

now im looking back on all the flight attendants on the planes ive been on, and they have all my respect
Ab-Initio EK 476 here.
Great so see this again.
i remember for the first time i ever saw someone with a medical emergency in my 19 years of flying on airplanes was this year. it is interesting to see how the training is done for emirates, thankfully in the flight i was in, there were tons of doctors who could help the passenger who collapsed because of his diabets, but unlike emirates, this flight didn't have the "do not touch the patient" on the pa so everyone crowded around
Congrats Sam, you are not only airplanes, you are 100% aviation.
I love this video, very informative and i love the way the flight attendants are being trained😍
It's always so good traveling in Emirates literally my favourite !!
