I'm thinking of booking the new Icon of the seas next year, which will (in 2024) be the new worlds largest ship. Would you like to see this video on the channel?
query: the ice skating rink..is it a real rink, as in ice rink or is it a layer of plastic...? a few years back (pre covid) there was this travelling rink that spent a week at my local shopping centre..it wasn't a 'real' ice rink, but a form of plastic squares that were laid down on the floor that real ice skates seemed to glide over easily..it was quite fun and, thankfully, not cold..
$20,000+ for a theme park on the sea and still having to pay extra for food and drinks? Absolute madness. I’d much rather sail on the Queen Mary 2 than the Wonder of the Seas.
And they know you're an influencer so aren't most of these videos and flights not coming out of your pocket? They comp these suites and flights knowing it's advertisement from your channel!
I think this might be the first video of yours I've watched where I've been completely aghast at the price. Normally I get sticker shock from your videos, but the luxury and food and drink balances it out. But the sheer amount of extra money needed on this ship is insane. At that price point everything should be included. But this is why I enjoy your videos - you're super honest about how bad that experience is.
Well, to play devils advocate, once you get on the boat, you don’t “need” to spend another dime. A lot of the things he bought were extra charges that didn’t have to be purchased. As an example, there are free dining establishments on the boat, free drinks, etc, but he just chose not to go to those as often
@@fuksoup Yeah, but then you spend half the day trekking back to the one dining room that isn't extra, the one bar that isn't extra. On other ships with cheaper pricetags you can just pop into a bunch of different restaurants all over the ship.
I felt there's something lacking for the price paid, exclusivity, really upscale experience as well as the look of everything offered. Seems Wil and Millie enjoyed much the experience, maybe the actual feel much differs from what has been recorded.
@@walover165 If we look at this specific ship, his stateroom is unfortunately as far away from anything as it gets, other than the free buffet which is one deck down and about the same location. I can understand if you pay this much money you don’t really want to hike for miles just to get some food, but this is something that many people would’ve taken into account before getting that specific room. That said, for $20K, everything should’ve been included anyway - I know some rooms (even cheaper ones) do include drinks but I don’t think this was one of them.
What gets me is that as a 20k suite customer, he doesn't get priority in booking specialty dining. That suite customer should absolutely get priority on any booking on the ship.
Thanks for saving me $22000 dollars. I'm very empathic, you see. That was really fun and a very efficient way to experience 4 days in a floating, high-end shopping mall. How easy it is to overlook all the logistics you surely must employ to film everything properly, including the camera drone. Thanks to you and your lovely companion. For 22K, I could visit many awesome destinations in Europe for 2 to 3 months or on a budget, 4 months. (single occupancy, of course) Much more sensible and far less insulated from reality. I prefer "roughing it." Lol.
"a floating, high-end shopping mall." Exactly. It's everything I hate - on land or on the sea. As an American, I have to say, though, it's like American commercialism gone mad. Awful. It screams, 'money, money, money.' Just... vulgar.
@@FigaroHey Not really. You see, normally, Price tags like these come with exquisit food, service, rooms and of course all inclusive. The fact they allow themselves to charge 20K and then want you to tip ON TOP OF regular tips AND charge you for drinks and food.... just a hard no. That is not American commercialism, it's just stupid. You simply do not get the value you pay for. If that were the case there wouldn't be a problem with this price tag. But you're simply not getting the value.
Thought the same… when he said „the drinks were expensive“ I was like: YOU PAY EXTRA FOR THE DRINKS?!?! It cost you 22k to get there and they don’t include some basic drinks?? I mean I get that it probably won’t be freeföowing champagne… but like 90-95% of drinks should be included at that price tag🫣😅
Oh i'm in total agreement, at this price point soft drinks, mid level alcohol and dinners should all be included. But again, that's exactly why I produce such content to shine a light on areas that frankly need some improvement.
@@wincrasher2007 gave U an upvote re: tips. Possibly sliding scale decided by the company, and any extra tips distributed the same way. My one cruise (long ago), private $ tip to a crewman had to be turned in to the company.
My mother and step father did the Nordic ocean liner - said it was just pure luxury and perfect and didn't have to pay ANY extra for anything on board. Pick your cruises wisely people!
There are a lot of travel youtubers out there, but something about your soothing voice, calm demeanor, thorough explanations, inside jokes and honest reviews, make yours ever so much more watchable! (Also Millie!) I LOVE seeing the menus for each place whenever possible, and what you ate! (My fave part, won't lie!) Thanks for posting, it is very entertaining and great to watch!
There are suites that do come with included wifi, and unlimited drink and dining packages,,i dont have the money to stay in a suite and i don know the full details, but this review left out an enormous amount of details...
I watched this video a couple of weeks ago and was really appalled at the cost, number of passengers, and inflated extra meal costs. I see from the comments I wasn't alone. While it is nice to have a large suite, at $22,000 for 96 hours its quite ridiculous. The huge disadvantage of that suite is the staircase. Given 50% of cruise passengers are over 50 having to use stairs is not as simple and has potential for accidents. It was good that you took one for the team by trying the restaurants where you have to pay extra, however at $22,000 both the food and drinks should be included. There is a compulsory gratuity of 18%; to suggest an additional tip of 10-20% is outrageous.
The costing on this trip is insane. No barista coffee, extra tipping required and the pricing on the food and drinks is wild! Love the videos as always ❤
@@rachkate76 Yeah, a total rip off. I'd never tip mandatory. Fck off and go by yourself then. I tip for exceptional service, cause I want to reward the waiter/waitress, but never mandatory.
Emma cruises approved indeed! 🤣🍪 It’s so fun for me to watch this video, we took basically the same cruise but in the opposite way. My total onboard spend came to $50, I bought the soda package and stayed in a ‘inside’ balcony cabin. 😀🥳 I always look at those speciality restaurant and suites so it’s so good to see inside. 🤣🤣
Me and my family have also went on The Wonder of The Seas and we went with 8 people including me. The cost was about 7k+ because we didn’t get first class, but for the 7 days we spent there we barley did anything since everywhere was filled. Numerous things that were actually fun required you to be 18+, so my younger siblings just ate and go to their rooms. The water park had extremely salty water, which peeled my skin and caused multiple scars. The food was pretty good, but the only place you’d get food for free would only be the buffet, hot dog stand, a pizza place, and a Mexican grill. Me and my siblings would only go to the card room and play ping pong for free time, while my parents would go gamble at the casino. Even though we went to the Bahamas and the other islands everything including an Uber - for a tour around the island -, and getting access to the water park on the islands would cost an excessive amount of money, and the places that were free would always be overcrowded. I was even more dissatisfied that everything that included food would had be bought in packages, which added more payment into our experience. Overall, was it worth it? Ofc not, but for experience? Probably not, but I wouldn’t go on it again. 4/10.
Well most of the stuff you can reserve on the app before the cruise starts and then you’ll be able to do it all, we were just on harmony of the seas and we reserved all the stuff we wanted to do on the app beforehand and never had a problem of not being able to do what we want
I think that after the 18-24 months that Covid essentially "killed" cruising, the Royal Caribbean line is looking to make up for their losses. But since the hosts spent over $2,500/day per person (which includes all meals) to pay $150 ($75/person) really meant they really spent around $125/person for dinner (when one considers what they paid for their "suite"). Still, I think they were "nickled and dimed" to death, and it sounds like you also felt your cruise was heavily option-priced, and a score of 4 out of 10 means you're not likely to return to RC for another go-round. I also would be very upset if after paying nearly $1,000 per person, that virtually any worthwhile activity was extra money...or that so many venues were sold out. Your kids spent most of their time in their cabins? In that lovely warm Caribbean weather? I'd be very upset and would definitely rate the experience poorly and warn others to be well-prepared for disappointment. Hudsonv24 advised that you should have had the app and then book all the options and activities in advance? I cannot imagine cruising and creating a schedule weeks in advance that you must adhere to minute by minute. By the way: we did a Holland America tour: the ship's tour was FREE, although you don't get to see many of the engineering areas nor the bridge. Trek Trendy spent well over $1,000 per person on options, so in my book, I'd rate RC very low and would cruise elsewhere. I hope that this option-pricing is NOT the wave of the future. Thank you for your feedback...much appreciated.
My wife and I sailed Wonder in a junior suite (a slightly larger balcony cabin without most suite neighbohood perks) for our honeymoon and I think a trick has been missed here with not prebooking, you can skip so much of the upsell. A 3 night speciality dinning package even paying a supplement for the Hibachi effectively organises a buy 2 get 3 deal. Same with drinks the drink package was much cheaper booked before the journey coming to about 80 pounds a day, everyday we got our moneys worth especially since cocktails are allowed in the solarium hot tubs. For things not covered here (we couldn't do everything over a week in the Mediterranean so this trip couldn't do everything if it tried) I'd recommend boozy brunch at the Mason jar (southern soul food restraunt) and the aforementioned Solarium an adult only pool complex with a hot tub extending off the edge of the ship.
I will never be able to afford £18000 for 97 hours on a boat, so thank you for the experience hahahah I’d still be getting titanic vibes on a ship this big. I’d be worried that 7000 people would never fit on the lifeboats, but it’s a very fancy, fun and beautiful ship! But for £185 an hour, it should be world class. And all the food should be complimentary. Having to pay for soft drinks is actually offensive considering the price you paid.
The price definitely depends on when you sail. I was able to book the same type of room on Oasis of the Seas for $8,000. The actual first class that they have, which is called star-class, has everything included, all the drinks and all the dining. I guess the fact that it is on the newest ship and the fact that they went during the summer make the price really outrageous and not worth it. It is definitely better to go on older Oasis class ships that are just as good, like Oasis of the Seas for much cheaper. And don't take this as me defending the crazy $20,000 price. And also my $8,000 price is for four people. It's 7 nights, too.
@@gilbydog7350 it’s interesting because we are used to airplanes, where flight attendants are trained to evacuate an airplane in 90 seconds. But that’s because the biggest risk is fire and explosions in a small space - and there is almost always a safer environment outside the plane. With cruise ships it’s very very different. Cruise ships are designed to resist catching on fire - and even more so they resist spreading fire. There are fire doors, fire suppression systems, and non-flammable materials. If a room catches on fire it can be completely isolated in minutes. The biggest danger to evacuating passengers is injury caused by panicking passengers. So slower is always better. The kinds of issues cruise ships face tend to allow for slow evacuations to minimize injury and death. I think I read that ships should be ready to have life boats launched within half an hour of everyone reaching their muster stations. That gives disabled and injured people plenty of time to get to the lifeboat safely. A mad rush would just injure more people. Incidentally, that’s why captains on planes avoid emergency evacuations whenever possible (ie if it’s safe to remain on the plane). Because most people injured in an emergency are injured in the evacuation. People can be clumsy or rude or just plain push people out of the way. We are a mess in emergencies.
Your conclusion pretty much matched my own feelings on why the premium experience didn't entirely deliver. I would have expected more at that price point and certainly made to feel a tad more special than usual. Now im going back to rewatch your Virgin cruise again! Thanks for your efforts in showing us warts and not just this video, but all the ones you do have been super useful in allowing me to make better decisions on my next travel plans. Thanks again!!!!
Dude, I have never been on a cruise, and my peers & family are always going on cruises. This ship, being the current largest in the world, is a large exception for a cruise example... but what a video to immerse viewers to show what it's like to be on a cruise! I can't imagine families with multiple children, trying to eat & entertain each day, after paying for the cruise alone. Very, very fascinating.
He spent a lot more than he had to for this video. You can get a balcony room on a 7 day cruise for about $2k, and it’s even cheaper for non-balcony or interior rooms. Once you’re on board, you don’t have to spend another dime if you don’t want to. Most food is free, and you get basic drinks for free. All the entertainment on board is free. Alcohol is always extra cost of course. Cruises are pretty good value for the money in my opinion.
I absolutely love how this channel provides a personal experience whilst offering a VERY helpful rundown for travellers. I think the added costs and the crowds only confirms that larger scale cruises are not for me. Definitely more keen on trying a smaller luxury cruise or train experience.
The nickle and diming on almost everything at this price point made the Virgin cruise look a way more appealing experience. Even if money was no issue it seems like the ticket cost did not include very much compared to lower tier passengers.
Couldn't agree more. Go to any similarly priced activity - Michelin restaurants, first class flights, five star hotels...they offer many benefits beyond the basic expectations of food, airfare, accommodation respectively. A five star hotel will book activities (almost as a travel planner) and first class flights often include ground transportation to/from. This cruise would be very disappointing for me.
Try MSC Yacht Club. Not only do you get unlimited drinks (including a fully stocked minibar in your room), you also get a private lounge, private restaurant, private bar, and a whole private floor.
We thank you very much for giving us this opportunity and sharing these wonderful moments of your beautiful journey. We were truly enjoying ourselves as if we were on the train...more fun.
Welcome to Royal Caribbean. I’ve 19 cruises under my belt sailing with RCI since 2006. The pricing has just gone crazy this year (Covid recovery pricing) and as you rightly mention, the upselling is all part and parcel of cruising nowadays. Being in a suite would have granted you access to the concierge / suite club for free drinks every night. At least something is “free” on board but the reality is it’s all part of your cruise fare. Extra gratuities expected everywhere you go, even after pre paying gratuities before boarding. I wouldn’t sail on Wonder of the Seas as it’s a floating kids club. Try Celebrity next time, much better cruise line and with the option of prepaying a classic or premium drinks package.
Most shocking for me is the mandatory tip and even asking out for another handout. Are these organized beggar gangs? What is wrong with you US guys to accept this insanity? I was asked for a tip from an automated gas station pump. This is just insanity!
Compared to many of the ships you’ve sailed on and the 20K price point, there should not have been so many extra charges. Great video! Have you tried the Cunard yet? I would love to see a video on that one!
The cabin is expensive because it is big and has a great view, space is at a premium on a ship. People booking these cabins usually have plenty of cash to pay for extra charges as well.
Thanks will for another beautiful journey. Without you people like us would never be able to explore a cruise like this. My whole family waits for ur blog and it’s a treat for whole family to sit and watch ur amazing videos together. Keep doing the great work. Well done 👏
Went on the spectrum of the seas 3 night cruise only cost like 5k for 4 passengers in star class same room as yours got a personal butler 24/7 all food included specaility resturants also included. Amazing and very worth it
You can go on all inclusive on Regent and Seaborne cruises for less than the cost of this. Absolutely crazy money and whilst that suite was nice, it seemed quite small compared to what you’d find on other cruise lines
This is a great example of why the drink package is extremely worth it. 3-4 drinks a day covers what you pay for and in my experience, you get way more
It’s always nice to watch someone give honest reviews. To pay $20,000 and then pay another $1,000 in extras for meals and drinks is insane. I can think of so many other things to do with $20,000; like building a greenhouse 😁 Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves and keep up the great work; I thoroughly enjoy your videos every week!
Its way cheaper if you just go in a regular room. It's also WAYYY cheaper to buy your drinks and food (at the specialty restaurants) online preboarding. But you don't HAVE to buy the specialty restaurants. There is so much free food.
Love the shoutout to Emma Cruises, I really like both of yours informational style of presenting. I agree that if I was looking for a vacation at that price point, wouldn't use it on a suite on a mass market cruise. It's like that old adage "never buy the nicest house in the neighborhood"... no matter how exclusive the cruise line attempts to make the suite experience, you're still on a platform that is catered to the masses and not geared towards exclusivity.
The only reason why I would take this cruise is because that behind the scenes tour. I know it cost $180. But if I was on the ship for a few days I would definitely try to make some friends and have them show me around. The infrastructure of cruise ships is absolutely amazing and that is really why I want to go on a cruise one day. Edit: They dont take you to the engine room for $180 WTF.
Love it! I have dined in Chops Grille on 3 different RCCL ships. When seeing your dinner bill I realize I saved a lot of money booking the restaurant before the cruise! I've seen the Wonder of the Seas several times as I visit Port Canaveral many times a year to cruise or just visit the beach bars. I only live a little over an hour to the north. I am just so impressed with your videography and how you edit the video to make the trip story so seamless! I'm taking notes for myself to use some those great techniques on my next cruise video in December. You have probably one of the best travel channels on RUclips. Why do I feel broke after watching them? Lol! Cheers!
I’m living on cruise ships all year this year, and you’ve painted a really clear picture of this one. I sailed on Symphony of the Seas (slightly smaller than this one) a few weeks ago, and found the sheer scale of it absolutely remarkable!
For all the people expressing concern for all the additional add ons, I, having recently been on a Royal Caribbean cruise can confirm that you can still have a great cruise without spending any extra money. We payed $1800 for our interior room and spent $30 on the soda package. We ate dinner every night with the rest of our family in the main dining room, which had way better food then you'll get on a run of the mill resturant on land. Breakfast and lunch were eaten in the windjammer buffet or the free pizza joint. As for entertainment, we went to all the shows and did all the free activities and talked with family. Was on of the best vacations i've ever had and we spent a grand total of $3000 for the entire trip including flights.
There’s plenty of other lines that you get far more for what you pay for! Royal Caribbean is a massive ripoff that takes advantage of idiots who are easily manipulated by their giant ships!
There’s another RUclipsr, Jordan Bauth who was working on Wonder while you were there. She’s a figure skater and was part of the ice cast. I hope you saw their show. I’ve watched it on RUclips and it looks incredible. Honestly, for what you paid, drinks and premium restaurants should have been included.
Costs were absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!! Hope your garner many more Patreon supporters to offset these charges...Millie is looking so splendid in her camera shots! I do so appreciate your efforts to show us (we, who could never afford these hi dollar pleasures) what the 'rich folks' are entitled to enjoy. Thank you sir, and lady!
You live like royalty. (at least for a while). I appreciate the extra effort you put into the experience for our benefit. Your channel has become one of my favorites.
Seeing this makes me miss my work with Royal. I spent 6 years working on 11 ships (10 contracts). The new ships look incredible. They all came out after my time with the company ended in 2016. What a fun time I had. Definitely lots of work. Giovanni’s was a awesome and so is Izumi. Makes me want scallops (from Gio’s) and champagne lobster rolls from Izumi. Very cool video. Kinda wish I could’ve spotted some of my friends.
While I enjoy your travel videos very much, every time I watch a new one, I secretly hope Millie is in it because I absolutely love looking at her hair and what she wears. She should have a fashion site!
The additional costs have cemented that this is not for me. I hate feeling robbed and pushed into spending money and that would ruin the experience for me. They're just being greedy, the ticket price is already extortionate but to make the restaurant basic to push you into paying for the expensive ones is a bit disgusting. Thanks for sharing this so we can cross this cruise line off the list!
For 20k i would expect way more complimentary things. Its a super nice ship, but its very commercialised in an American way sadly and it would also ruin my mood. Especially the tip added on top of mandatory tip. Its just insane. The ship itself is magnificent though
Agreed, and this is exactly why I review products like this, to lift the veil on something that will never usually be picked up by the countless press trip videos online
I really appreciate it that you don't hide when things are expensive. Even if you can afford them, you are aware that the price might be outrageous. And im only at the 40% tip for the first meal 😵💫😵💫😵💫
I've done my share of cruising....all on Norwegian. It was eye popping that the Suite was so expensive. For almost 20K I would think you could get more space. I've stayed in the Honeymoon and Penthouse suites and both were considerably less in cost albeit over ten years ago. The Norwegian Garden Villas (only 2 on the ship) are 27K but over 5000 sqft and multiple rooms. The Suite in this video is not big and the appearance of greater volume is made with the additional floor main bedroom. The Norwegian penthouse suite is more volumous and the bathroom is quite large with floor to ceiling window in the full shower. Overall I get a sense that these bigger ships and the extreme packing in of 7K souls is indicative of corporate greed mentality where you get nickel and dimed at every opportunity. Sheesh....even the Penthouse suite on Norwegian had full drink card included. My cruising days are over for sure and I'm also a USN veteran so I've had my fill of herding onboard ships of any kind.
This is pretty awesome Will! Looks like you and Millie had such a good time! Amazing though how many up charges though for the price of your tickets. Still pretty cool though
thank you for always being blunt and thorough. as nice as this cruise seems, its absurd the extra amounts you have to pay while already paying a very high premium
I cruised Royal Carribean over 40 years ago when the ships were tiny in comparison . Those days the meals were superb , caviar starters , 2 dollar drinks and unlimited entrees for dinner. Cabin cleaning twice a day , turn down service and chocolates on your pillow. All this for much less than $ 200 / day . And they flew you to Florida included in the price. Now that was value .
The fact that my whole city can fit on that ship is mindblowing. In my city called Bramming in Denmark there lives 7.171 people, and there is 7.084 on that ship. Its mindblowing to think that we today can make such big ships.
I can honestly say I went on the Anthem of the Seas for a 12 night cruise from southampton at 1750 per person in a balcony stateroom. And the experience was VERY similar, although the wonder has a few more things, most the good stuff is still on there. and is MUCH more reasonable especially when you realise kids go for £99 a kid so a full family of 4 can go for under 4k. and in UK on anthem you get even the top staterooms for 3-5k per person, not 22k. 22k will probably get you a royal loft on the anthem which has a damn grand piano in it.
Awesome vid as always mate I sailed on freedom of the seas in 2022 and it was the biggest ship I’ve ever been on I can’t imagine what wonder of the seas must have been like 😮
Its always a good sunday when trek trendy posts. Been a fan for years now! Keep up the great content Will!! Still hoping for a review of Taag angolas international first class on their 777-300er.
I went on wonder at the start of June. Absolutely amazing I’ve been on 2 other royal Caribbean cruises as well and this one tops them all off. Can’t wait for icon of the seas
Really ! I am glad you enjoyed your experiences! But Have You Tried P&O or Cunard They are so much Better and all inclusive for that Category of Suites 😊
@@Richard.Charles.S Cunard is very boring unless you don’t like to do anything. I did the Queen Elizabeth with my family when we went through the Panama Canal and it was just ok. Cunard is mainly for much older cruisers versus if you are young. Think like people in their 50’s and up. If you love to stay busy with lots of entertainment choices then Cunard is not it. I enjoyed doing the Norwegian Sky cruise which had 100% open bar and went to the Bahamas as well. I also did Carnival which was fun too when I was younger. Cunard was just eh to me. I would love to do Royal Caribbean but this price tag is insane and overpriced with no perks for him being in a suite. He should have gotten many different free perks for that price. It’s a shame how these companies get to rip people off. 😑😑😑😑
That’s how they make money. Cruise ships this size take over a million dollars each day to operate. With out exclusive paid things, they wouldn’t be able to pay their crew, build new ships, or improve their passengers experience.
@@sawyer3510That’s how Royal Caribbean makes money of idiots! There’s other cruise lines that don’t rip you off like this! MSC Yacht Club is a great example, you get a private area in the ship, your own high end restaurant, unlimited drinks from your own mini bar and everywhere else on the ship, your own Butler, and multiple other perks which is all included in the price you pay!
I was grateful for the vicarious va-ca getaway. Genuinely! I'll stick with house/pontoon and party boats, on the endless lakes, within our slice of Heaven. What a hoot! I went on a 3 day cruise, and loved it! Once ... was enough.
Love the videos so informative and a great vibe! We appreciate the efforts you go to! (you must be searching for new things to do all the time so I thought id suggest the Seven star sleeper train in Japan and the Maharaja express in India would love to see your experience!)
@@TrionnoStunting I don't speak it either, but amazingly I understand what he/she wrote. Maybe I'm a genius, maybe it's cause it's close to german words ^^. Personally I don't think this is a beautiful cruise. I wont attend if they pay me. Rather'd go for a Hurtigruten with alcohol package.
I went on one of these cruises before, was in Europe though. Sailed from Barcelona, it’s nice but the prices is way too expensive compared to other options. You would think that they would include soft drinks at that price range but you still have to get a package for that as well. Great video anyways love your videos and content 🙏
They know you don't have any other options, especially when at sea. Ofc they're gonna nickel and dime you. Knowing that and how the employees are treated, it says a lot about the cruise industry in general.
For $20,000 plus I’d expect some meals and amenities to be included. But the consonant up sell is a major downer for me. I feel you can get a better value on other cruises. And yeah why was the all access tour $180? Why not $100?
20k is a crazy price but when you have been on so many cruises that the rewards program with carnival and royal Caribbean both give you so many discounts and free shit that cruises like this would be about 4-5k with a paid for 2 rooms free casino free dining in most restaurants and free drinks
Way too costly, but given the amount of amenities on board for passengers to enjoy while on her voyage, holding back that cash would definitely be irrestible. Excellent video coverage as usual👏🏽
I’m going to join the no drinks bandwagon. I’ve taken two trips with Royal Caribbean and there won’t be a third. First was a regular balcony and the value was ok. Second was in a suite and, for that kind of money a drink or two should have been included and maybe even one meal at a specialty restaurant. They will likely never miss my money and that’s ok, I don’t care. It’s my relationship with my own money I’m trying to maintain, and my money needs to know that I value and respect it enough not to throw it away for little value. 😂😂😂😂. Thanks Will, another solid video.
20k for a comparatively small first class suite, no special treatment, no personal wait staff, hardly anything included and no reserved seats for events that are fully booked? There are definitely better cruises 😅
Great vid Will... Really shocking that alot of the dining and drinks options were still chargable given the ticket price. Very suspect to that they seem to be constantly upselling it as well with the less than stellar quality on some of the meals you had.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I live in toledo Ohio. I've done some traveling in Europe when I was a teenager, I'm 60 years old now. I just absolutely love watching your travels. Looking forward to much more. I wish I could still travel with my loved ones!
Great video. I don't understand though how cruises charge that much but half the stuff isn't complementary. Feels like a scam. If I pay 20K everything on that ship better be included lol
I went on this same cruise for my 22nd birthday and had the best time of my life @royalcaribbean ! Although it may be expensive for most, you do get what you pay for and I’d rather pay that price. On the cruise alone, I spent about $350 on drinks and souvenirs for the entire 7 days, and this did include the daily gratuity they charge. The food was delicious and there was no need to pay extra to eat at the restaurant they charge for. I was able to see a new show every night and the talent was absolutely AMAZING! They even had shows throughout the day. The entertainers are very friendly and interactive and I even keep in touch with a few of them too! Each island we went to offered such a nice experience and I had no complaints. The only down fall about this trip was the amount of children on board who were left unattended by their parents, but that’s obviously not something Royal Caribbean can control. Overall, one of my top 5 best vacations!🙌🏾
So shocking as a swedish individual to hear that it's mandatory to tip and also added tip on top of that. One would think that considering their prices and owners they should be able to pay their workers... 😅
That lounge breakfast is pretty much identical to carnival's seaday brunch that's included with all cabins. I personally would not see that as a selling point for a suite.
I'm in shock at the price of this cruise! Feels very unattainable for us regular Joe's. We recently visited Cape Canaveral and saw the ship docked at the port and the size of the ship was truly amazing! I've never seen a ship so incredibly massive!
If I was paying $20,000 for 97 hours I would not expect EVERYTHING to be included, I would DEMAND it! Safe to say, travelling on this liner will not be on my list of things to do.

Thanks for watching. I'm thinking of booking the new Icon of the seas next year, which will (in 2024) be the new worlds largest ship. Would you like to see this video on the channel?
Tried to order, but they don't deliver to the UK.
Any help..
wait for another largest cruise ship name the icon it will out next year
yes sir I'd like to see that video and I love all your videos!!! I hope you and everyone is having a wonderful and Blessed day!!!!
query: the ice skating rink..is it a real rink, as in ice rink or is it a layer of plastic...? a few years back (pre covid) there was this travelling rink that spent a week at my local shopping centre..it wasn't a 'real' ice rink, but a form of plastic squares that were laid down on the floor that real ice skates seemed to glide over easily..it was quite fun and, thankfully, not cold..

$20,000+ for a theme park on the sea and still having to pay extra for food and drinks? Absolute madness. I’d much rather sail on the Queen Mary 2 than the Wonder of the Seas.
Oh I'm with you. 20k would net you a return Queens Grill transatlantic voyage on QM2 with a healthy bar tab to boot
And they know you're an influencer so aren't most of these videos and flights not coming out of your pocket? They comp these suites and flights knowing it's advertisement from your channel!
Agreed!
The qm2 is an outdated shithole. The only reason people sail on it is because it’s the only regular transatlantic sailing.
20k is not the norm, this is still one of the wonder’s first voyages.
For twenty thousand, you’d think it would be all inclusive, seems way to expensive, very nice vid though, cool to see the largest ship
Wait? Dinner can cost extra???🫠😅 it’s just ridiculous
It's the bloody mandatory tips on top of everything else. Nope, call me a stingey old git, but I decide if and how much I'm going to tip.
And no concierge to help out with reservations.
Oh i'm in total agreement, at this price point soft drinks, mid level alcohol and dinners should all be included. But again, that's exactly why I produce such content to shine a light on areas that frankly need some improvement.
10%-20% tip on top of mandatory 18% when you've paid £20k to be there. What on earth.
As always, stellar video Will
very little of that tip makes it to the employees I'll bet.
Yeah, ridiculous!
don't worry he tipped less than 8%
@@wincrasher2007 gave U an upvote re: tips. Possibly sliding scale decided by the company, and any extra tips distributed the same way. My one cruise (long ago), private $ tip to a crewman had to be turned in to the company.
I hope that the 18% tip was already included in the price, because $10 for a $151 meal is a lousy tip.

I agree!
Are you really that uninteresting?
I'm shocked that suite didn't come with a drinks package or at least some dining package. That's insanity.
That’s royal for you
I wonder if they are playing off the rich's egos with that. Can't spend $20k on a cruise then lose face over a $30 sippy cup of alcohol 😬
There are suites that do come with included wifi, and unlimited drink and dining packages,,i dont have the money to stay in a suite and i don know the full details, but this review left out an enormous amount of details...
Food is included but he went to the special restaurant.
so many F U moments to people who are spending big money.
Even the Titanic had included drinks and meals onboard. Except for the Á La Carte Restaurant.
latuaged your is the rememberis come the ocarina.Hotel dont the give money come.just to borrow form to ocarina all.

What an American Cruise ship it is.
Suites can get to 10,000 per person the cheapest rooms are interior for this ship which cost 2000 per person
The tipping just means, that at this cost the company still doesn't pay their employees a wage one could live of

It’s so fun for me to watch this video, we took basically the same cruise but in the opposite way. My total onboard spend came to $50, I bought the soda package and stayed in a ‘inside’ balcony cabin. 😀🥳

@@hudsonv24 But you have no freedom them as you have a schedule you need to follow.
@@xScooterAZxyou don’t need to follow that schedule you can cancel which frees up spots for other people

Thanks for letting me know. :}
My wife and I sailed Wonder in a junior suite (a slightly larger balcony cabin without most suite neighbohood perks) for our honeymoon and I think a trick has been missed here with not prebooking, you can skip so much of the upsell.
I will never be able to afford £18000 for 97 hours on a boat, so thank you for the experience hahahah
I’d still be getting titanic vibes on a ship this big.
This price is definitely not normal for that room 😂 And don’t worry, there is a life raft/boat seat for every person on the ship 👍🏻
I think you've touched on a real and genuine concern with a ship this big. In an emergency would they be able to disembark 7,000 people quickly ?
Does anyone wonder how he affords this content all the time?
Truly need an answer
Super appreciative about him being open about the prices and finances and showing he paid for them too!
Im with you. This is so underwhelming at that price point!
Praying extra for food and then having to pay an additional 10-20% over the mandated 18%???? That's insane based on what you've already paid!
I absolutely love how this channel provides a personal experience whilst offering a VERY helpful rundown for travellers. I think the added costs and the crowds only confirms that larger scale cruises are not for me. Definitely more keen on trying a smaller luxury cruise or train experience.
Your content, editing & information is ALWAYS on point. Thanks Will for your fantastic videos. Big love, kindest regards, Richard U.K
this is quality content, you make an entire trip into a video and make it seem perfect.
Always love a Sunday post! Especially when over 20 minutes. Thanks!
The nickle and diming on almost everything at this price point made the Virgin cruise look a way more appealing experience. Even if money was no issue it seems like the ticket cost did not include very much compared to lower tier passengers.
No drink package on Virgin. Have to pay for each separately
Love that you cleared this up for people. I have gone on multiple RC cruises and have never come close to paying near that much!
Most shocking for me is the mandatory tip and even asking out for another handout. Are these organized beggar gangs? What is wrong with you US guys to accept this insanity? I was asked for a tip from an automated gas station pump. This is just insanity!

Incredible ship! I am very surprised at all of the extra charges given the suite you're in and the eye-watering price tag of the tickets!
The additional costs have cemented that this is not for me. I hate feeling robbed and pushed into spending money and that would ruin the experience for me.
Nice one Will (as always), great that Millie could make the trip with you. Can’t wait for the next video champion 🤙
Just went on my first cruise in the Caribbean last month and I didn’t realize how fun they are
The room on this one is crazy!!
Simply love your travel videos, honest, interesting and well put together. Keep up the great work.
I've seen other videos about this ship but this one was very well thought out.. great to watch
Thank you so much for watching :)
Millie is the highlight of your channel . She's gorgeous.
Love how you mention each other's channels..."Emma cruises would approve 😊"
I think it was absolutely atrocious that, given the price, there were so many extra charge things. Just pure greed.
Have applied to go on the Seven Star sleeper train for the last three years, unfortunately not been lucky enough to get a ticket yet. Here's to hoping
It's overrated.
@@Trektrendy fingers crossed 🤞 and again thanks for the brilliant content🥳
Tusen takk for en kjempefin visning rundt verdens største cruise skip. Elsker at både du og Molly er med. Hun er så nydelig. 🙂
I don’t think he speaks norwegian
@@TrionnoStunting I don't speak it either, but amazingly I understand what he/she wrote. Maybe I'm a genius, maybe it's cause it's close to german words ^^. Personally I don't think this is a beautiful cruise. I wont attend if they pay me. Rather'd go for a Hurtigruten with alcohol package.
yeah im learning norwegian so i recognised it too. Im dutch-german too@@-ripinpieces-8409
I love that you say "included in your fare" rather than "free"
Like a floating hotel connected to a theme park that has a mall. Not my cup of tea, but once more you do a phenomenal job producing another video.
Nice work yet again! Though it seems to me like the suites aren’t such a great deal if almost everything on board costs extra anyway (no free DC😅)
20k for a comparatively small first class suite, no special treatment, no personal wait staff, hardly anything included and no reserved seats for events that are fully booked? There are definitely better cruises 😅
The additional costs are ludicrous, and 30$ for two drinks is madness
Always great to see Millie! Thanks for the great tours!
Much respect on all the work you do luv the vlogs
Great video. I don't understand though how cruises charge that much but half the stuff isn't complementary. Feels like a scam. If I pay 20K everything on that ship better be included lol
@@qyhchhhjhhhv9753 Yea but even then, most nice cruises cost a few thousand but then you get on and most of the fun activities/food isn't included.
I agree with this statement
Nice when Daddy pays for your stupid shit, right?
What an incredible experience. You guys are living the dream ❤️
What a shitty experience! There are hundreds of better options than this rip off.
Love your work Will but I'm afraid that ship is everything I dislike about travel all in the one place, albeit a very big place!😂
I agree, it's like getting stuck in a department store.
Milly it's ok to pack more than 3 outfits😂😂😂😂😂
They have a lot of neck not to include a drinks package with your suite, great vlog thanks.
If I was paying $20,000 for 97 hours I would not expect EVERYTHING to be included, I would DEMAND it! Safe to say, travelling on this liner will not be on my list of things to do.
You could DEMAND it all you like, you would not get it.
I’m happy you guys had fun!
The cost is 7 years of my salary so it’s super out of my budget but I really like watching others spend money. 🤣❤️
