Man's got everything, a beautiful house , a sweet lovely girl , the best dad who's always flexing 😂 and a supporting brother. Lots of love for you two!!
This is one of the best RUclips videos I’ve ever seen. Two brothers and their dad, working hard, having fun, and bringing joy and unity to a complex task-all to make a beautiful couple’s dream come true. The proposal at the end is just the cherry on top. Congratulations-this is beautifully done!
I don’t even know who you are. But you have great building skills, it almost made me cry how wholesome it looked in the beautiful sunset how you proposed, it’s so beautiful!❤❤
********18:35 mechanic here with 20+ yrs medium/heavy duty please tell me you are going to use grommets in the hole you fed the battery cables through!!! we need to make sure he sees this comment I would even use threaded compressible grommets but running battery cables through a metal hole that was probably not properly deburred is it guaranteed literal definition of a short short to ground Spray foam is not a solution it's going to fail the only thing you can count on is when the short to ground happens you'll be caught off guard or you will not be around to witness the fire
This is probably the longest remodel I've seen in a while that had me smiling the whole time I was watching. Dad is a gem, family is on point, and we got to see the proposal at the end?!?!?! Congrats on the new home and engagement. Many blessings to you.
I missed the building and construction part. I wasn't with someone who is in construction anymore. :((( which lasted about a decade. now Im on a new journey.
This is what makes my day, seeing how hard they worked and how much time they spent doing things and I have to say… amazing and congratulations to the both of you and I hope the both of you have a blessed and beautiful life together

Your dad is amazing man. Huge props to him. Also, my head can't wrap around the idea of weight and high speed movement against all of the stuff inside of this house. Which makes this far more amazing and magic-like for me.
@@daelusx I thought about that too but then I realised it's made to haul around the weight of more than 50 people. The weight will be the least of their worries, they used the wrong materials for something that will be subject to a lot of vibrations and different weather.

I am a bit older than you at 74 and im bedridden. Ive been called the grumpiest man some folks have ever met. With that said I shed one single tear watching this video.

They capture the essence of life-free from politics or worries-highlighting the pure joy of simply existing and loving one another. Thank you for sharing your happiness with us!
That’s no only the nicest interior I’ve ever seen in a DIY, but the creativity in the layout blows my mind. It has no side pull outs YET if feels like it is wider than it is. Love it. This is my new template for when I finally do it. This guy(s) a perfectionist and skilled tradesman. Wishing them an amazing life and future !!
I'm genuinely curious about two things: The added weight of the drywall and tile in comparison to other materials more commonly used in RV builds - usually people avoid these due to the weight cost - and the durability of these materials after putting some miles on the vehicle. Flex and vibration are notorious enemies of tile and drywall, as well as doors and windows made for homes instead of RVs. I genuinely wish you well on this, but if the experience of other schoolie builders means anything, you may be presented with some unforseen challenges.
I hope he drove it over some certified scales with all the tanks fully loaded! Ya know, to make sure the tires are within their limits and such, gotta be safe! I'm sure the gvwr will be sufficient, but sometimes weight has to be shifted around or tires upgraded to higher load ratings, etc.
Absolutely! Been living in lorry's for 15 years+ there is a lot of flex and movement, also after a couple of showers and washing up that small water tank will need filling, especially if like they said there both going to be showering every day !
Definitely share a 1 yr later video talking about any challenges you faced and maybe overcame and what you might've done differently if you could go back. I always wonder if people kinda lock themselves out of fixing things when they design so comprehensively and build a singularly unique structure in one go.
Looks absolutely sick and best ending ever to a video. My two concerns (1) obviously the weight added in terms of safety. Like that thing weighs at least 5x its designed weight and how the bus frame can hold, (2) is that you installed four large batteries right below where you sleep. Hopefully nothing ever goes wrong, but it’s literally like sleeping around gas cans. If something goes wrong and battery fire starts. It burn hot and fast quick.
Omg I was thinking the same thing with the batteries and also was surprised they didn't use solar (I was like "well where is the solar panel gonna go?" and they never put one) .... I'm already scared of using a powerbank in bed for my phone, and they are p much sleeping (mattress and blankets and all) on massive fire hazards like it's nothing.
the weight shouldn't be an issue. school buses can handle a lot more weight than you think. i'd give it a solid 20k lbs in cargo weight. the batteries, yes, don't know why he put them under his bed, should've been on the other side near nothing else very valuable.
Yeah, I thought about that for a moment but then I realized that school buses are designed to have 50 to 60 kids. That's easily 6,000 or more pounds. Plus the weight of the chairs that they removed. I'm guessing that it's semi similar. Also they removed a lot more glass. I think they're probably okay but I was very curious on the weight before and after.
Man, this brought a tear to my eye. Great build and wonderful story. The love of a groom for His bride is so very powerful! And the love of your bride is just breathtaking. May His face shine on you both!
Very nice job. I was a truck and bus mechanic for 45 years, and I was very impressed with your creativity and work. If you don't mind me asking a few questions. 1. What was your GVWR when completed? 2. With the flex of the vehicle, are you concerned with your tile cracking? Did you do anything special to prevent it? 3. Like cabinets and drawers, did you install special catches to prevent them from opening when driving? 4. Were the items you used like electrical, etc. meet FMVSS? 5. While I liked your roof raise, I think I would have put some structure bracing so your panels did not have some of the ripples, but that was just me. I give you 95% on overall job young man. I would be interested in knowing after you have driven it for a while if you have had any structural flexing that has caused you any issues? I worked building Ambulances years ago and when we cut the tops out of the Ford van to put the fiberglass raised roof we had to do some actual supporting to compensate for flexing and when we relocated the seat belt mounts when we put the header wall in we had to do so special testing to mount seat belts. Of 😢 were considered a manufacturer and in order to get Ford to sign off we had to meet certain criteria. We were using Ford chassis that were designed by Ford to be converted into ambulances. One last thing I'll share with you. We ran Leece Naville alternators. 200 Amp systems, and we would take the diodes out of the case and use Delco diode rectifiers out of 100 Amp altinaters, wired in parallel and remotely, mounted them in the grill for cooling. This would give us great cooling and a bullet-proof charging system even at idle. That is only an option should you have a problem keeping those batteries charged up for your electrical system. I would be glad to give you more in-depth info if you DM provided you need it. Overall, I think you did a great job, young man, and what an awesome project for you and your dad and friends to do. All the best wishes to you, and congratulations on the engagement. May you have many years together. Have a blessed day.
@droogiesouls8635 I am more concerned about an accident and what may happen. Having been involved in the manufacture of ambulances, trailers, and other things, one of the most discussed with engineers and corporate litagaters was liability. So of the testing we had to go thru was extensive. Not to be a Debbie downer. I am concerned about some things. I wonder if the company who insured it had any concerns. Wiring, burn rates, crinkle points, etc. However, the creativity was great, and the overall quality of work was nice, and the commentary between friends and family was priceless.
@humble_frog 10-4 I would not have a problem living in it, just driving around in it.🤣 I kind of understand your point, but all of this video stuff is beyond my understanding I just and old guy. Your generation has carved out a notch, and your creativity is awesome. I wish I understood more about it, but for me, it's a lot of fun watching young individuals like yourself expressing ideas and ingenuity. I am by no means being critical. My expertise revolved around safety, liability and trying to identify anything that might be hazardous. Thank you for the feed back, keep up your creativity. Sincerely
@@johndavis318 These are all very valid concerns John. If you look when the leave the house the added panels have all distorted from their original install and any coach master would physically cringe watching the making of and point out the 1000 errors made in building it. All of the money used to build it would have been better suited to be spent at a coach builders built to regulatory spec with the proper procedure and materials 100p. This is a pimp my ride of campers and I imagine Tavarish will buy it in a few years to rebuild it to proper spec for content farming.
The mere fact that these kids built something and had such support from family to get it done, is amazing and a blessing to them & their posterity. SO MANY LESSONS they HAVE learned and WILL CONTINUE to learn (not just from this build - but from working as part of a team (which is what our family is) to learning how to be a spouse, a parent, a grandparent: WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FUTURE they have to look forward to!! He never promised it would be easy, but HE did say it would be worth it!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU on your life’s journey no matter where it takes you!!!
Just like many others who commented, I'm happy for you. However, there were many red flags with this build; mainly the weight capacity, the choice of materials keeping in mind that the chassis will contort/flex, and the option to use battery banks, rather than solar & battery bank combo. Good luck, out there! 🥰🙏
My thoughts exactly. 800ah is quite a bit, but only relying on DC to DC charging with the amount of things he has in it, he'll find out real quick it isn't enough. He has a ton of real estate for solar panels, and should've added a port for shore power.
All I have to say is that that bus is probably one of,if not the best build/conversions I’ve seen, you guys are super talented, you would think you guys did this for a living…AMAZING!!!
This really shows that humans are capable of quite nearly anything with ingenuity and a whole lot of sheer will. Congrats and I’m so happy the outcome was way beyond what I was expecting when seeing this in my recommended haha
I found your channel today, and watched this video. You made this 61 year old 230 pound biker tear up at the end, not kidding. I'm a contractor of 39 years, and I am blown away by your skillset. To see a young man like you, with your dad and friends do what you did, is beyond moving to say the least.
dont mind if i ask 1. Is there a means to reach the engine compartment? If not, how would one go about performing substantial repairs and oil changes on the bus? 2.Can the engine truly handle the load that you have added to the bus? Some engines were only designed to handle a particular amount of weight, and they would not be able to handle it when the bus was going up or down a hill. The bus also had trouble stopping when there was more weight on it. I'm curious because it seems like a dream come true for anyone who has ever desired to live this way. Or you're planning to stay in one area permanently near the beach as u mention, so you won't travel much.
The bus has to be able to carry alot of kids, 20 is over 1000kg of weight.

@@adamski9936 That weight is easily reached with the water tanks + wooden beams / floor etc. Also windows are very heavy. (and most likely not fit for driving around, with standard glass...)
400 gallons of water would easily be more than that thousand kilograms from the children… all the wood, using the construction was way too much weight, not to mention all the appliances… if you park somewhere and doesn’t drive it’ll probably be OK but it definitely won’t handle going up hills unless it has a very beefy upgrade to the engine and transmission, suspension and brakes…
I just stumbled upon your RUclips channel, and wow-I’m in awe! I absolutely love tiny houses, but this video truly stands out as one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. I usually don’t leave comments, but seeing how your family, especially your dad, came together to create this stunning tiny home, and then watching you propose… it brought tears to my eyes. ❤️ Congratulations to both of you on your engagement, and kudos to having such a phenomenal, supportive family. This was so beautiful. 🌟🏠💍
This would be nice parked somewhere for a permanently placed tiny home, but not sure about driving it around with all the added weight. And, tile on the stairs says slip and fall hazard to me with big red letters. All of the batteries could pose a fire hazard … sorry, but yes. And, the passenger seating in the cab … don’t get me started … LOL. I hope you never get stopped. Again, you have created a great little space to park and live in , but not drive around. Other than the safety concerns, you guys did a great job. It looks beautiful.
The weight is just fine, a bus of this size, being a full-size school bus, can take a maximum vehicle weight of 36000 pounds, and this thing is almost certainly under 16 tons. That rating is what the bus is rated to suffer over its lifespan routinely without issue, and even go over that if its ever needed. The batteries are also LiFePO4, which only emits at worst a candle flame when impaled by a long nail, its nowhere near as dangerous as Tesla's NMC battery packs which explode with white flames within two seconds of puncturing and heat up past 650 Celsius in the process, but even so yeah some heat shielding and fireproofing around the batteries themselves would be a very good improvement. But otherwise, its all very good and the only real improvement beyond the shielding that needs to be put around the batteries (and the cabin passenger seat since I imagine this lovey-dovey couple wants to be beside each other on any long drives) is refitting the shock absorbers to be softer and adding solar panels that can be rotated out to clear the roof deck space.
@@theoxygencombustion7006 Oh for sure, you legally must have one in a house, for a motorhome with a proper fridge and stove and everything its basically a house in all the ways that matter so it definitely needs one even if it legally might not need one. I think combination smoke/CO alarms are available, I have one in my house with a 10 year rated battery built into it.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. This thing is cool, but it also breaks all sorts of road worthiness laws. A big one is the glass, which must be automotive grade tempered glass in RVs. It looks like they just used standard plate glass residential windows, which is a major hazard.
i don’t think i’ve ever been more proud of an internet stranger ever like this is an insane project that alone is life changing and then adding the proposal to the end im acujust in awe- CONGRATS AND I HOPE YALL HAVE THE MOST FUN

Using wood to hold in your water tanks seems like an absolutely horrible idea… all the weight of the water plus the eventual deterioration of the wood due to being exposed to the elements (even though it’s treated it will deteriorate) will result in catastrophic failure.
1) Congrats! 2) Exterior doors should open to the outside. Not just to preserve space inside the living space but for safety. You never want to have to back up if you're trying to escape a fire.
Just to let you know it's uncommon for residential homes to have the exterior door open outward however i don't know what it is like for rvs and the like.
@@felixthefennecfox1944 it's standard in sweden atleast, from what i heard (i.e. not confirmed fact) other places mandate inward so firemen can get in easier
Wow! That bus must weigh a ton. All that wood and stone and full size appliances, not even considering the weight of the water. Congrats on proposing. 😁💎
In addition to the added total weight, I’m worried about weight distribution. It looks like they mounted almost all the heavy stuff (bathroom, w/d/r appliances, cabinets fresh/grey tanks, all on the driver’s side. Seems like a tip hazard
You guys did an amazing job on this. Plenty of hard work done by good people. I only have one concern for you guys being a young couple in this mini home. I noticed you did not use green board for sheet rock. You also did not seal it or the joint compound. That leaves plenty of opportunities to absorb moisture and create mold. However, you did install the dehumidifier and with the spray foam walls and ceiling, you created a pretty solid vapor barrier. Just please check on this after a year or so to be safe. Amazing transformation you all did.
Yeah the build is just throwing money out the window. You can have a real house with 3 accomplished builders and all the money they put into that bus. This bus must be parked somewhere and LEFT on the ground, because all those tiles are gonna crack if you'll be doing actual driving. You can't stand in the bedroom. You can't stand in the office. The couch can't fit 2 people. There's very little storage. Its impractical and overpriced but its cool and it makes money as content.
I'm 60 years old (young) and this has got to be in the Top 5 DIY's I have ever seen and I watch a TON of RUclips content! SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT! And on that proposal, brother,......You Got Style & Class, BRAVO!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is how you should not convert a school bus. Buses are earthquake on wheels, so they shouldn't have put drywall in it, which cracks early. That is just one of many things incorrectly done on this build. They built it like a house, and you should build a skoolie more like a boat.
He didn't even get a beach side spot. Just the middle of the campsite XD. And she sat on a bench to get there. Novel but... all that for that? The thing will be broken very soon. It's a big waste of materials and effort, really.
Awesome job man! I’d recommend looking into what’s called a buddy seat. It’s used in large farm equipment worldwide for a passenger to sit comfortably and it still folds away.

I don't know if you plan on driving this but the shows you just how much thought and planning has to go into RVs and other mobile homes because of the weight. The amount of wood you've added to this Frame is an unbelievable amount of weight
I love the enthusiasm but plz remember you aren’t building a house or even a stationary structure. There are multiple reasons you don’t see Sheetrock or solid core wire in RVs or boats. The biggest being the constant movement of everything. Stranded wire with crimp connections is for safety. The tile may stand a chance with the kerdi backer but I see lots of cracked Sheetrock in your future. Your center of gravity would be a major concern as well. Good luck though, sorry for the negative remarks
I was thinking of the flexibility of household windows and doors. I’ve remodeled old RVs and you also have to be careful about how everything inside is balanced
@alparker2616 Yeah, balance with the fridge and washer/dryer on one side and nothing opposite them. Also with that 200 gallon blackwater tank running in line and not transverse, I think, with the fresh water tank and grey water tank on the opposite side, fresh will start out full. So the weight of 100 gallons of water all on one side, with nothing opposite. I hope that's not the same side with the appliances. Otherwise I'm surprised this thing didn't just tip over! Besides the issues pointed out in this thread though, at least it looks really nice and was built with care.
Load it up fully people , stuff , including the tanks , take it over the scales and note your gross weight , check to ensure your tire ratings are sufficient, then perform a brake test . You owe this to the other people that will be on the road with you , JMHO
One big question is how much cargo capacity does this have after loading it up with all those heavy elements? Perhaps my desires are unique, but more toys = more fun!
Exactly what I was thinking (weight issues) and how about all that tile (walls and floors) cracking to pieces after a few thousand miles of flexing. Would love to see an update in a year or so if they use it often.

@@clay282 exactly what I said. I would have used aluminium for the frame and lighter siding with a layer of something like that speaker carpet for extra insulation. And I would have staggered the fridge and laundry room to be on different sides for more even weight distribution.
One of the best bus makeover videos I've ever seen. Very well put together. Music added tons of anticipation and centiment. The editing probably took as long as building the bus. And the bus turned out really nice. Nicely done.
It's going to rattle and shake, the windows will lose their seals before next summer... and it'll probably come in at 3 gallons a mile for the weight... but it's a gorgeous build for sure!
@@Faesharlynliterally the first thing that came to my mind too. The drywall will crack, the bathroom tiles will crack. Cool idea but it’s not very efficient. As soon as the bus hits a bumpy section, it won’t take much to start cracking all these products that aren’t meant to in this environment.

Back in the day, when I purchased my first home to live-in; that was Miami in the early 1990s, first mortgages with rates of 8 to 9% and 9% to 10% were typical. People will have to accept the possibility that we won't ever return to 3%. If sellers must sell, home prices will have to decline, and lower evaluations will follow. Pretty sure I'm not alone in my chain of thoughts.
If anything, it'll get worse. Very soon, affordable housing will no longer be affordable. So anything anyone want to do, I will advise they do it now because the prices today will look like dips tomorrow. Until the Fed clamps down even further, I think we're going to see hysteria due to rampant inflation. You can't halfway rip the band-aid off.
Home prices will come down eventually, but for now; get your money (as much as you can) out of the housing market and get into the financial markets or gold. The new mortgage rates are crazy, add to that the recession and the fact that mortgage guidelines are getting more difficult. Home prices will need to fall by a minimum of 40% (more like 50%) before the market normalizes. If you are in cross roads or need sincere advise on the best moves to take now its best you seek an independent advisor who knows about the financial markets.
There are advisors in cities around you but I needed services of one who can guide me irrespective of location. ‘Melissa Terri Swayne’ comes highly recommended especially in times like this. I am hedging and haven't lost much to the recession. I found her in 2020 when the market was at an all time low. Look her up and thank me later.

Never felt so insecure in my life… these 3 guys are all expert level plumbers, electricians, carpenters, masons, mechanics, architects, wood workers, fabricators, roofers, welders and riggers. I’m honestly speechless, people usually become 1 maybe 2 of these and hone that craft for their entire life.
Honestly, this stuff isn't that hard if you're willing to spend a couple days researching what you need to do prior to a job, and not taking a crack at it till you're fully confident. If you're not good at self learning, there's always night classes and stuff being ran practically everywhere. 75% of the difficulty is understanding how to do things safely and in a way that will last a long time

I’m sure your gf/fiance will feel the same. 💕
You obviously put your heart and soul into this build. But while I’m no expert, I’m terrified for you and your beautiful girl. Lots of things about it are extremely concerning. The tremendous weight, the rigid tiles, the potential cracking drywall, the massive added weight from the water tanks held up by wooden beams, the very serious electrical hazard right underneath your bed, and your fiancées seatbelt won’t hold in crash. Then the issues of braking make this house on wheels a death trap for you or someone else. Who’s going to insure it? If it goes up in flames is it going to be a total financial loss? If someone else is hurt you could be in debt for years and/or face criminal charges. Even as a tiny home I don’t think you’ll be able to get insurance. That’s what has happened to a lot of the tiny homes that people built themselves. They can’t live in them because of local building codes. I totally wish you the best but I’m honestly scared for you. I apologize to anyone that I have offended with what I’m saying.
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on RUclips in a while. The bus looks amazing and the ending was very well done. Perfect song choice and camera angles.

I really loved watching this. The journey from start to end was one to remember. You made me feel like I was a part of it all. Wish you both the best wishes in life. Love and greetings from Papua New Guinea
Never seen one of your videos. So maybe this is explained in other videos: Weight before, weight after? Suspension changes? Dry wall in a moving shaking vehicle? Did it crack ? Same question about the tiles. Passenger seat up front, safety wise not so good for long trips. Was there no room for a second seat? Gas mileage now vs before? Read this in a comment as well about the tanks. Wood will rot fast and the tanks will be heavy. My trailer has a thick tarp type thing on the bottom. Might need something there. Would love to see a follow up about all of this. Also mentioned in another comment, where’s the money for this coming from?! Congrats, so much work went into this. Lots of talent there!
I give that suspension 100 miles before it gives up. Seriously dude, you’ll be about 4 times the weight limit there, you NEED to get some reinforced suspension.
What is the GVWR of this specific model? In another comment he said it weighs 29,900lbs with empty water tanks. Even if you figure full 200gal black, 100gal gray, and 100gal fresh that's 32,300lbs. Thomas states GVWR of up to 36,200lbs for their Saf-T-Liner HDX buses, which is what this is, however we need to know the specific year & wheelbase of this bus he used and I don't see where he stated that anywhere.
I like the enthusiasm in this video, but it oozes thoughtless waste. Tile? Double shower head? Black water twice as big as fresh water? My assumption is given all the help his dad is giving, they're building this vehicle to be mostly stationary, likely it will sit on their parents' lot or someone they share land with. Otherwise this thing will be STUPID expensive to move.
Hey man. What a phenomenal job you did on that build! My only critique and concern for your Build is all the four-way stop signs that you have when laying the drywall. Doing that in a home will almost certainly give you cracks, but now you’re in a moving vehicle. I’m imagining you have cracks everywhere? How is it holding up?
wood on the bottom and spray foam was a big mistake. that foam will make any repair a nightmare. that wood underneath will rot and crack during travel. those vents should of run straight out the side, all those curves dont help at all. the walls are way to thick, they built this like a barn and didn't optimize the space at all. the batteries are dangerous and should of been built into a fire proof box with exterior access. THE BATTERIES ARE UNDER THE BED!? .............im speechless rn. using carpet was also a huge mistake. use area rugs instead...amazing bus overall and congrats on engagement.
I see a dozen mistakes that are going to show up after only a few years.... Drywall in the bus... Absolute no no. Unfortunately a lot of hard work wasted...
I was thinking, wait, just those pipes for support? It feels like it’d get squirrelly in a crosswind. Giant sail effect. That bedroom is disturbing. It’s a firetrap.
The best video I've ever seen. I'm 68 years old and watching the way you and your family have worked together to build a dream into reality is more inspiring than I can put into words. God Bless you all.
All that weight of the large plastic waste containers held by wood and screws, in the elements that wood is going to rot and your going to have 200 gallons of waste in the road causing a crash.

I totally agree ! 👍
Absolutely! Been living in lorry's for 15 years+ there is a lot of flex and movement, also after a couple of showers and washing up that small water tank will need filling, especially if like they said there both going to be showering every day !
yep. very true. it may be good on weight, likely has over 30k gvwr but a few bumpy dirt roads and that floor could start to crack.
Not that will happen in Mexico Lol not here .
Definitely share a 1 yr later video talking about any challenges you faced and maybe overcame and what you might've done differently if you could go back. I always wonder if people kinda lock themselves out of fixing things when they design so comprehensively and build a singularly unique structure in one go.
ya its extremely over designed. there not gonna be able to drive it on long trips which imo defeats the whole purpose of van life.
You'll proably never see thos bus again
That bus went from taking kids on a field trip to taking the viewers on a feels trip. Congratulations mate!
He needs to encapsulate battery compartment and vent it outside.
the weight shouldn't be an issue. school buses can handle a lot more weight than you think. i'd give it a solid 20k lbs in cargo weight. the batteries, yes, don't know why he put them under his bed, should've been on the other side near nothing else very valuable.
I thought the exact same thing. Plus, to be sleeping on top of all of the EMF can't be good for their bodies.
Man, this brought a tear to my eye. Great build and wonderful story. The love of a groom for His bride is so very powerful! And the love of your bride is just breathtaking. May His face shine on you both!
Just didn't love her until he made sure all other options weren't available for 6 years hahaha
i was crying for him asewll, who the hell would like to live in a prison van just look at this 24:47
This is definitely not a great build.
I was thinking the flex will completely shatter the structure
@droogiesouls8635 I am more concerned about an accident and what may happen. Having been involved in the manufacture of ambulances, trailers, and other things, one of the most discussed with engineers and corporate litagaters was liability. So of the testing we had to go thru was extensive. Not to be a Debbie downer. I am concerned about some things. I wonder if the company who insured it had any concerns. Wiring, burn rates, crinkle points, etc.
However, the creativity was great, and the overall quality of work was nice, and the commentary between friends and family was priceless.
hey john, this bus build was done mostly for video purposes - they aren't actually going to live in this full time by any means. hope this helps

He has a ton of real estate for solar panels, and should've added a port for shore power.

dont mind if i ask

Carbon monoxide / smoke alarm would also be nice to add.

I'm 60 years old (young) and this has got to be in the Top 5 DIY's I have ever seen and I watch a TON of RUclips content! SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT! And on that proposal, brother,......You Got Style & Class, BRAVO!
lol, you feel for fake youtube video, boomer. Go back to fakebook.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is how you should not convert a school bus. Buses are earthquake on wheels, so they shouldn't have put drywall in it, which cracks early. That is just one of many things incorrectly done on this build. They built it like a house, and you should build a skoolie more like a boat.
Unc
He didn't even get a beach side spot. Just the middle of the campsite XD. And she sat on a bench to get there. Novel but... all that for that? The thing will be broken very soon. It's a big waste of materials and effort, really.
Awesome job man! I’d recommend looking into what’s called a buddy seat. It’s used in large farm equipment worldwide for a passenger to sit comfortably and it still folds away.
Be Honest , How many of You people's Heart got Heavy & Eyes with Tears of Joy & Happiness coz finally she got the Engagement Ring she was asking for 2 years , She deserves every happiness... Bro the Build was Absolutely Amazingly Beautiful & very Brilliantly made... GOD bless You All with lots of love & happiness & with good health & wealth... Keep Up The Great Work...
I don't know if you plan on driving this but the shows you just how much thought and planning has to go into RVs and other mobile homes because of the weight. The amount of wood you've added to this Frame is an unbelievable amount of weight
Exactly what I was thinking.
I was wondering about the drywall. That stuff cracks if there is the slightest flex in a house.
There are so many things that will make this unusable almost instantly
@@dgpsf I’m also curious how close it is to the 13’ 6” DOT height.
The proposal at the end made me cry ,this is one of the best video i have seen so far in this category. Love u dude
This is such an inspiring and heartwarming story! The way he transformed a school bus into their dream home is incredible, and it shows how much thought and love he put into building a future together. Her saying yes makes it even more special. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness in your beautiful, unique home! ❤❤❤
Bro just casually builds a dream house out of a school bus and documents the project so well it was incredible to watch. Then suprises us with the proposal to one of the best songs ever made basically dropping a dream proposal music video. 🤯🤯😮💨😮💨

I want to see it drive at actual highway speeds, take a curve and experience cross winds. It’s BEAUTIFUL! That much weight up top would be scary.
Needs outriggers maybe wider axels
This "bus" will kill someone someday if it's regularly brought to highway speeds.
Park another one next to it for your
" guests" and some storage.
We did that before. 😅
Good story. Thanks and great family you got.
@@GreganDunn Agreed. It's probably only safe in parking lots.
@@clay282 exactly what I said. I would have used aluminium for the frame and lighter siding with a layer of something like that speaker carpet for extra insulation. And I would have staggered the fridge and laundry room to be on different sides for more even weight distribution.
kudos to your dad who loves you two so much. That he spends his time building this together with you
One of the best bus makeover videos I've ever seen. Very well put together. Music added tons of anticipation and centiment. The editing probably took as long as building the bus. And the bus turned out really nice. Nicely done.
All your meticulous hard work proves u came from an awesome dad! Great job, guys!!!
Wow, welding, carpentry, plumbing, electric. You guys don't mess around. Massive respect to you, your friend and dad. Enjoy the spoils.
It's going to rattle and shake, the windows will lose their seals before next summer... and it'll probably come in at 3 gallons a mile for the weight...
but it's a gorgeous build for sure!
Fantastic 😊
@@Faesharlynliterally the first thing that came to my mind too. The drywall will crack, the bathroom tiles will crack.
Cool idea but it’s not very efficient. As soon as the bus hits a bumpy section, it won’t take much to start cracking all these products that aren’t meant to in this environment.
@@TroungTran-g7v I'm genuinely surprised at the grouted tile

@@Faesharlyn well all I can say that it’s refreshing to run into someone with common sense. I went through a bunch of these comments to see if anyone had a brain, like you and I. But it all seems like they’re too busy saying what a great job they did. The things people do for likes these days 🤦♂️
Thank you RUclips for saving this kind of memories to people. Love you.
I will be happy getting assistance and glad to get the help of one, but just how can one spot a reputable one?
There are advisors in cities around you but I needed services of one who can guide me irrespective of location. ‘Melissa Terri Swayne’ comes highly recommended especially in times like this. I am hedging and haven't lost much to the recession. I found her in 2020 when the market was at an all time low. Look her up and thank me later.
Melissa Terri Swayne is the licensed coach I use. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
75% of the difficulty is understanding how to do things safely and in a way that will last a long time
@@trotskiftw Yeah, agreed. I’d add that you may not get the knowledge to tackle every job but you can deffo get the basics and the knowledge needed to tackle the specific job you want to do. Thank good for RUclips, honestly. You can find a tutorial for pretty much anything!

The interior walls/ceiling are all wood, and smells as good as it looks! I can’t tell you how much all his work meant to me. It’s one of the nicest gifts he’s ever given me! I’m sure your gf/fiance will feel the same. 💕
25:49 the proposal ❤

Never seen one of your videos. So maybe this is explained in other videos:
Weight before, weight after?

Bro is so bad at copying that he made the list in the same order as the original
But they created a death trap, so there's that.
I was thinking about that .... there's a lot of added weight...campers use light weight materials.
@@FinalFront So after all those heavy elements in the bus, the cargo weight capacity is what, 10 pounds??? ;)
I'm pretty sure he's well aware of that
I like the enthusiasm in this video, but it oozes thoughtless waste.
Well the reason they do this is for video content, so long term maintainability is not a concern
I see a dozen mistakes that are going to show up after only a few years.... Drywall in the bus... Absolute no no. Unfortunately a lot of hard work wasted...
@@TheOrovinso what does that really mean? They are encouraging their viewers to do this dangerous build and it's ok as long as they get views?

All that weight of the large plastic waste containers held by wood and screws, in the elements that wood is going to rot and your going to have 200 gallons of waste in the road causing a crash.
Only if they allow the wood to rot over a period of years then continue to operate the vehicle with zero maintenance at all
