Quick note from a frequent Alaska first class flyer - Seattle has a couple of Alaska lounges and they are very nice. Also, Alaska asks passengers to go online and pick out their meals in advance a couple days before the flight, hence no menu - the options are listed online. They do keep meals onboard for those who didn't choose online. The fruit and cheese box makes an excellent light meal and is one of the most popular choices - there's never a guarantee there will be one on the flight, so order it online..

It's a shame that Alaska no longer includes lounge access when you buy a first-class ticket. However, if you don't need a lie-flat seat then their first-class is a bargain.

A van came for me as well to take me there. He brought me drinks and food, whatever I needed. When it was time for me to take my flight he rolled me onto my plane and into my seat. Canadian Airlines have what I would call Business class only...nothing really "First Class". I fly a fair bit for work, probabaly not as much as Trek. My take.. Air Canada is the best, ya ya, everyone in Canada likes to complain about the major carrier, but their product overall is good, I have flown other airlines in US and around the world and AC's domestic business class is a good product. Internationally though AC's Business class is middle of the pack.... Little note.. Air Canada does have it's discount airline, Rouge, and at times Air Canada will switch their mainline flight and put you on a Rouge flight. Rouge has a business class product too, it is substandard to Air Canada's mainline business class. We even have a saying for when Air Canada switchs you to a Rouge flight last minute..."you have been Rouged". WestJet does have a business class that is good with service but choices of food selection is limited and very few lounges to be had. Porter Airlines, a fairly new Airline is Canada, has a business class, it is a little better than WestJet, good service but again very few lounges across Canada. Overall for flight selection and availability, AC comes out slightly ahead. As a buisnes traveller who visits lounges often, Air Canada has a lounge in pretty much all the province's major cities. Although the Lounges in YHZ, YUL, AND YYZ domestic have a lot to be desired....the Halifax lounge was outdated 15 years ago, Toronto's lounge is boring/outdated and you have a great view of the airports roof ventilation systems and very little view of the runways, if you stand up..if you are sitting forget seeing a plane. Montreal's domestic lounge has nice view of the airplanes and the ramp but it is too small and always cramped, terrible layout but I will say this, the people who work in the Toronto and Montreal lounge do a good job or trying to keep the place clean, dishes removed promptly. My hats off to all lounge staff as I see some real assholes in lounges who think that because they are in a lounge they are "special". Never once have I considered myself special, as I am lucky to travel for business often and visit lounges and many beautiful places in North America. If I ever do start feeling "special" I just think of my dad, who at the age of 12 had to get a job to support his family, Dad deliver milk by horse back in the 40's, never heard my Dad complain once in my life. Blessed to have had such a great Dad and what I have and do!

As noted by others, comparing U.S. "First" Class domestic cabins to your experience in Delta One (international Business Class) isn't a fair comparison. There is a difference between domestic and international products of all U.S. carriers, so you could have theoretically flow SFO-LHR in Polaris and could have had a better experience than flying SFO-MSP on DL.
Great job otherwise and keep 'em coming. 😀

Really liked the video (as always). I do think that comparing Delta One to the domestic first class products of the other airlines is not quite fare, though. It would’ve been more fair to compare maybe a domestic Delta first class seat to the east coast. Also, you have to fly delta one (or have the right credit card) to get into the Sky Club; even international delta first class (e.g., SEA to Mexico) by itself doesn’t get you in. ☹️

Delta has no international First. The highest class international for Delta is Business and an international long haul Business gets you to Delta One’s super premium lounge Delta One lounge in JFK.

As I have discovered, drinks and pre departure service on AA first class is at crew discretion. Also most lounges are aging and limiting hours...so if an early flight or late arrival you'll have to join the general public offerings. Most Delta must have the amex companion card to enter. First class is not very classy any longer. Fun trip you had though.

Delta getting a leg up here with the only international flight. Not apples v apples. I can say I had a great flight with United from Newark to Amsterdam a few months ago on a 777-200. Even though an older aircraft, it was a great flight, much better than the same type of aircraft from SFO to Newark a few days earlier. I put it down to it being international v domestic. If Delta wasn't the best flight out of this bunch, there's something wrong.

Dear Person That's Reading This, We Don’t Know Each Other But I Wish You All The Best In Life 2024 And Beyond.🙏
May I also remind you of the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions.
Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shockingly sad truth. 😔
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return to rightful owners Native American people.

Another great report - thanks Will. Sorry you'd to endure United - back in the day, we'd an amazing customer experience through Continental Airlines, every time. We knew when management moved from Houston to Chicago that things would deteriorate. We'd no idea just how badly... I'm glad I was able to coach tearful flight crews through career change options during a ground stop. Nasty, horrible airline - treats its customers with even more contempt than its employees - and I'm personally connected with one of their VPs who had health issues... United screwed him to the wall, poor fellow. Glad that you'd better experiences aboard their many competitors!
