It was couple of years later when he did this movie that people started to like him again and slowly regained his respect. There was Valkyrie and another light hearted comedy Knight & Day afterward that got his career back on track.

It was controversial even in the year it came out. There were a lot of people who called for boycotts, mostly for the usage of the word retard and Ben Stiller's Simple Jack character.
His performance was the best of any in the history of acting when you weight the other roles he's played and how unlike him is this character. That's acting and I've loved this movie since I've seen it in theaters. It brought the best out of every actor in the film and its really cinematic gold. Truly thank you Tom Cruise for giving me something that makes me smile EVERY TIME and can take me out of any negative mood. Brilliant.
You know movies are usually all the same. Sometimes maybe there will be those who are a bit different or slightly more original but at the core they are the same. Same plots, same scripts, same jumpscares and this lasts for decades. But sometimes, once every 12 years, out comes a movie that is not only good but also so weird and different that you're like "what the actual f was that?". This movie is it.

His performance was the best of any in the history of acting when you weight the other roles he's played and how unlike him is this character. That's acting and I've loved this movie since I've seen it in theaters. It brought the best out of every actor in the film and its really cinematic gold. Truly thank you Tom Cruise for giving me something that makes me smile EVERY TIME and can take me out of any negative mood. Brilliant.

You know movies are usually all the same. Sometimes maybe there will be those who are a bit different or slightly more original but at the core they are the same. Same plots, same scripts, same jumpscares and this lasts for decades. But sometimes, once every 12 years, out comes a movie that is not only good but also so weird and different that you're like "what the actual f was that?". This movie is it.
