How did it sound before?
This video really helped me out. After the second day I was unmotivated and regretted my surgery but seeing this video motivated me to push through it. Im 4 days after my double jaw surgery and I'm feeling mentally better🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
It gets better with each passing day. I'm 8 weeks post op. and things are atleast 100xtimes better now.

Honestly watching your video helped me get through my surgery. I am now 3 months post op. I got the exact same surgery, my jaw was brought back, my upper jaw was brought foreword and the upper jaw was divided into 3 pieces so it could be widen. Your videos helped so much! Thank you! I still have a some swelling but everything is a lot better now that I can eat.

I have surgery on March 30th. I am nervous. How are you doing? Was it worth it?
@@mr.makedonija2627 Yes it was :) 95% of the numbness went away and I can chew perfectly! I only have a small patch of numbness left between my lower lip and my chin. For me, the hardest part of my post-surgery experience was not being able to eat solid food for a while lol Other than that it was mostly painless since I was numb for a long time 👍 I wish you well and stay motivated! 😉

@@vin7281 I'm grateful that my wife took her time to prepare and blend me some delicious meals. I don't remember what she used to make them taste that good though. I do remember loving blended indian food and anything containing potatoes. I have to say that eating from a straw was difficult at first but buying a bigger straw helped me alot. Also be sure to cool down your meals lol I only made that mistake once 👍 Oh and I always had enough smoothies in the fridge to keep me well fed 🙂

I'm almost 3 months postop. My teeth still feel kind of loose when I try to bite down, and I bite my lower lip when I try to chew. Can't wait for Thanksgiving dinner. Glad your surgery turned out so well. Can't wait for the 6 month mark. I miss biting on pizza, bread sticks or apples. Little things you can take for granted.
I'm going to have my double jaw surgery Dec. 22nd and your videos definitely helped me to get an impression on how the healing is going to proceed. The hardest part of my surgery has been being bound for over a month. I will never take for granted the individual parts of food. Having to blend everything, having every bite be uniform, it is hell. As a foodie, the diversity of food is what hurts.

I got mine done about 8 years ago, and to this day i'm still paranoid about biting into an apple lol. You looked like you had a good recovery right after! I was black and blue, lost too much blood as well, I had to stay a few days more in the hospital. I unfortunately lost feeling of half of my upper lip it gets worse during the winter. Your face is definitely going to still keep changing a bit, mine settled in after a year, I now have killer cheekbones which I'm pretty happy about.

Hey, I had my double jaw surgery 32 days ago today and wow has it gone fast. I’ve been able to eat pretty much almost everything I ate before surgery (chicken, rice, pasta, potatoes, veggies, and even most snacks.) I’m on elastics now and getting the hang of it. I returned to College last week and all my friends and lecturers have complemented me on my bite now (I used to have a super bad underbite).
Your videos of three weeks and four weeks post op on advice and your experience really helped me and my family prepare and it’s so great that you’ve uploaded this video at the best time for me 😊

Adham Karkour I got my surgery done for free because it is a part of “resolving my condition”. I have a Cleft Lip and Palate so the way my face and skull was formed was completely different so to help me chew and eat better they just offered it to me.

I was 25 and I had a double jaw surgery for my underbite. I am 3 mths post op now but my face is still swollen pretty badly. I used to have a sharp jawline but now my face is just chubby. Is this normal? Did anyone experience the same? Does it get better? I am afraid I will remain chubby/swollen forever. :( i have seen a lot of youtube videos and most people look much better when they are 3 mths post op. But not for my case :(

I'm two weeks away from my 3 month post-op point and I'm so happy with my results. I was supposed to have double jaw surgery but while I was under the doctor decided to just do the top. I can't wait for the rest of my swelling to be gone 😁

I just had the exact same surgery on the 15th and I’m a junior in college. The pain is pretty much gone, but I’m still very numb and 85% swollen due to my right side being just about gone. How long did it take until your swelling and numbness was gone?

Mine turned out good. I'm still recovering after like 8 months. Swelling is still there and a little numbness but i can tell it's getting better
I'm debating on getting jaw surgery. I'm graduating high school soon and I was thinking about getting it in the summer. I find myself like insecure about my jaw and sometimes I have trouble with pronouncing words. Did you ever experience speech problems when you had your underbite?

For anyone who’s done it recently watch your mouth for any big ulcers! If you see them it means your body is rejecting the titanium plates and you’ll have to get them removed. It happened to me a couple of months after

YES the video I was waiting on for. To be honest, your videos makes me slightly less nervous about my double jaw surgery in April. I have a question though, actually I have 2...lol First, did you have a crossbite as well as an underbite or just an underbite? Second, I know you say full recovery is 6 months, but will I feel ok around 4 months/halfway through (like eating wise, talking wise, swelling still?) Appreciate your videos:)

I had pretty much the same surgery as you. They had to break my lower and upper jaw and also had to break my nose. My surgery was 3 weeks ago. It was not fun at all but each day I get better and better. I think the worst part about it is can’t eat solid foods for about 6-10 weeks and sleeping is hard for me as well.
I am looking into getting my jaw fixed as well & wanted to know a few things. Did you lose weight in the process of healing since you can't have solids? Also, how long before did you have to have braces put back on?

Scheduled to have mandibular and maxillary surgery in 2023, they say they'll have to take out some teeth big oof. I was informed that there is a 20% risk of permanent numbing in the lips (which I'm fine with since it doesn't affect appearance and wellbeing) but the thing I'm most worried about is the chance of lip skewering- what is the actual risk of that?

these types of jaw surgery are still pretty risky. If its a minor cosmetic issue just leave it.
Bunnies Forever naah if you go to a good Surgeon nothing bad will happen, mine had like 30 years doing this kind of procedures.

you probably won’t see this but, i’ve gotta have my lower jaw brought forward and i’m terrified because what i might look like afterwards the only problem is when i bring my jaw forward to see what it looks like my back teeth meet but my front don’t do you know what they will do ? or if they will take a couple back teeth out?
I had double jaw surgery plus wisdom teeth out on Thursday. I’m now on day 6 and still very swollen I cannot speak and so frustrating! Any tips on swelling would be fab I feel I can’t take any more lol

Hi! I know this was a couple years ago so you may not see this, but did you have to pay for your braces and surgery in full or did insurance cover any of it?
Five months have gone since my surgery. And I am not able to move forward and backward, and also side to side. Could that be normal? Will I be able to do it later?
I haven’t done my exercises well these three last months. I skipped the exercises plenty of days. Now I feel bad that this can affect my jaw natural moves.
The only thing about the surgery I am concerned about is the splint.it is driving me nuts. I keep accidentally biting my tongue and it’s hard to sleep at night(4:16am as of now). How long does it have to stay in your mouth?
Due to the fact that you had double jaw surgery, did that worsen the recovery process by making it take longer to recover? I had lower jaw surgery only and my doctor said the recovery will take about 6 weeks for recovery. Is it because of only lower jaw that its quicker?

I had the same exact surgery in the 10th grade, back in 2010!!!
I had double jaw sugery too, but with the opposite problem, my jaw and chin where way smaller than normal, i had an advancement and yes like the firts days (like the first 4 or 5) are the worst, literally, awfull... but you can deal with the rest of the recovery, obviously it is akward
How many months do you reckon you could have taken your braces off without much difference?

I just got this done and am currently on day 4. I am hating it. Although there’s not a lot of pain I can’t breath and constantly choke as I have my braces bound shut and just guess I’d ask anyone that’s has it. When does it actually feel like it’s getting better rather than it’s a little better but still depressing. Is there any point or says around where you thought this is so much better now? Any honest answer would be appreciated

I have the exact same situation as you, the underbite,lisp and the double jaw surgery. I'm getting my braces in a few days and then I'll have to wait for 12 months for the actual surgery..yikes! kinda scared but I'm motivated by the fact I'll look a whole lot better afterwards. I can't wait😅

Does it really take 3 weeks to talk?? It’s been almost a week since my surgery and not being able to talk is a nightmare & I’m so incredibly energy-less ,, can’t even walk for too long or even sit more than 10 minutes, I immediately need to lie down and cuz I get very exhausted
My daughter had upper jaw surgery on Jan. 3rd. She is unhappy, thus far, with the looks of it. The bite looks great but something is definitely off but it may be too soon.

Becouse right know i fell that my left side is pressing on when im trying to open my mouth so much that is possible , how was you experience did you have some of the same problems in the first weeks ?
