    What do I like best about this tour:
    The fact you can paste stuff in cmd! That's the best improvement in my opinion they did throughout the OS, thank you so much for showing this in the tour! I am so excited for the release!

    Scott, Thank you for taking the time to introduce these features of the Windows 10 Technical Preview. It really is great to have an overview of the new and/or experimental features and to get someone else's initial impression of both the functionality and value of each of them. I have just downloaded the Win10 TP about a week ago, so I am [now] a newbie of the W10TP audience. Coming from primarily a Technical Support background - where I troubleshoot as well as coach Users - I am approaching 10 from the perspective of 'How easy is it to use?' and 'Does this feature look like something the User can "break"?' - so to speak. My installation is running smooth on a considerably older hardware platform, so that is a good thing too! Thanks again for your effort here and I hope you will make additional videos if inspired to do so.

    thanks for the demo. . . in conjunction, i also use this FolderChanger utility to speed up my computing tasks and productivity overall in terms of folder management in Windows 10. It keeps me organized when using the computer. Look it up for "folderchanger" when using google. It works pretty well.

    1.virtual desktops
    2.better snap features
    3.explorer enhancements
    4.adding cortana
    with this crazy idea - removing metro or having an option to completly disable it
    so close yet so far microsoft.

      MasterOfGalaxyYoda we all know what happened with the windows sidebar feature.. aah yes, it was so handy and full of apps to install..Until that time hackers broke into to them, and so suddenly made their way to bypass it and 'Wallaa'' they accomplished to break into your system! Microsoft took down windows sidebar ever since. And what about Windows 10 now?.All those icons are even bigger now in this version, its too much in your face, especially for organized users.

    This looks great! 1. How long is it usually between this stage of development and release to the public? 2. Any thoughts as to whether or not this will be a free update for 8.1 users?

    • @nothingimportant5203
      @nothingimportant5203 9 лет назад

      I think windows 8 was realeased a year and a half after it's intial preview, but, given that a lot of people have pointed out that windows 10 is just a reworked 8.1 I doubt it wil lbe longer than a year, however, this being just based on my opinion, i strongly doubt it will free for 8.1 users, at most I would expect an "upgrade discount".

    Is it possible to remove the icons out of the start menu? Like remove every icon (Skype etc.) so the right side of the start menu dissapears? And also what about the right or left snapping of the windows, what about you don't want any other windows get open and just snap one windows to a side and on the other side you want to have the desktop shown. Is this disable so the choices don't get shown? I hope someony can anwer my questions. Best regards! :-)

    Just coming from Win7 I was a big hater of Win8. After using for sometime now I have grown to love it. All of those comments saying you will love it if given the chance were right. I am glad that Microsoft is offering more choices on how someone can use their PC. Hate metro, use the start menu, Like metro? No worries just keep on using it. :-)

    But overall, very encouraging.

    It is so ironic how much Windows is becoming more like Unix-like operating systems, especially Linux. If It wasn't for the Start Menu and IE taskbar icons you might be fooled into thinking that this was a Linux Distro. It's nice though. Still, if Windows wants to win back Mac users and Linux users they are going to have to do a lot more than this.

    I think, one of the problems with old console, is that scrolling has a very short memory, so you couldn't scroll up/back far. Has this changed in new console. I also wish they update file explorer to include tabs and dual panel. File explorer has become so stale, that I use free commander as my file manager. When you did search calc, it appears to be TWO calculator programs there (one desktop and another the metro version). It still feels like TWO OS, than the one
