- We stumble upon some things Saavedro had wanted Atrus to see (too bad he'll have to make do with us instead).

On the very left of the mural is a man who doesn't seem thrilled about the two brothers. I've always thought that was Saavedro.
Based on Atrus' journal, this Age never had civilization. It only has one of the 3 elements: Nature. It's more likely that Atrus wrote this Age specifically to create plants like this for the purpose of teaching Sirrus and Achenar. If it weren't for his journal saying he wrote it, I personally would've thought that Catherine had written Edanna, because of the complexity of writing it would take to create such bizarre organisms.
Presumably, as the time is always the same on most Ages, as far as we know. There's an Age in this game which is my favourite because of how the time of day is stuck to be so breath-takingly beautiful.
The path 'branches' here. No pun intended?
Because there wasn't enough sunlight when we stood by it, but by directing the light reflecting in the orchid onto the tongue, there was enough light to open it.
I wonder why Saavedro made a mural of all things. The message on that viewer would've been enough.
I'm suprized that your views on the Myst play throughs is so low. They are, BY FAR the best let's play Myst videos on RUclips. Thanks Sven, you fill out the mythos nicely🤗
I bet the machine ten minutes in was where Atrus delivered the message about nature encouraging mutual dependencies.
I think it's intentional, as he's trying to logic his way through everything. That's what I love about Sven's LPs. He shows how we can come logically to all the conclusions we're supposed to.
These plants look oddly usefull, like maybe they have been engineered in some way. The Aurora flowers and the Reflective flowers are obviously related, but there are no other/wild flowers witch have these reflective capabilities in Edanna. The Swing plant and the Staircase plant also seems too intentionally usefull to be wild. Maybe the tree once stood on an island with a civilization on it? And the plants in the tree are remnants of the plants the people used in their forest city?
That is in fact not a venus flytrap, that looks more like a pitcher plant. The venus flytrap is the one which has green leaves and those things that look like teeth.
Although the tree could simply be a wild tree growing on a coral rief just of the coast of the mainland and the plantlife we see in it have spread there as spores from the civilizations on the mainland. It would not be impossible for plants like this to exist if an intelligent race existed to manipulate their evolution in a direction usefull to them.
I suppose I don't know enough about ecology to argue here about whether or not an ecosystem could sustain itself in such a cycle. Still, it's lovely to have such a pleasant discussion on RUclips - a rarity these days. I feel like Sven attracts an enlightened audience.
He updates the playlist every few days as new videos come out.
2:46 Treeception. We need to go deeper.
Your production rate is inspiring. I hope to get close to this pace someday. Great series :)
Wait, why is the tongue fern all lit up by the sunlight when viewed through the orchid but not when viewed up close?
this is how complicated creationists describe walking as
That makes a lot of sense. We know that the Art can create many strange and bizzare things, so this seems like the best solution to the problem ^_^
Do you think there will ever be a realtime version of exile after starry expanse?
Why didnt Atrus ever talk to him I dont get why I feel for Saavedro
Atrus was trapped by his sons I believe
Yes he was trapped
Is it always the same time of day on Edana? I'd imagine how difficult these light bouncing puzzles would be with the light constantly changing.
I was actually referring to before the reflected sunlight was directed toward it. :)
Great LP as usual but the video compression is terrible - thanks youtube... Maybe if you uploaded them in HD the extra bitrate would help? (I know the game is not in HD)
Ah, that brings to mind so many questions though about how such an ecosystem could survive without a day/night cycle, but nevermind, nevermind...
I presume you mean Amateria?
This game really feels like it was designed by committee.
GalaxyJazzGirl Cyan wasn't involved in Exile, it was done by Presto Studios. One reason you can't get it on Steam or GOG.com
Considering the LP is now over, do you mean the lattice trees shown in the background of the mural?
Just to let you know, this video as well as the last one are not in your playlist.
Oh. I don't know that.
I most definitely mean Amateria.
You might get stuck in an awkward period of nighttime then :P
Why not hd sven?
