I'm not completely sure about Saaveedro's involvement with the puzzles on Edana, but it might make sense that he took a smaller sample with him to study for his own uses (after all, wouldn't he have to solve the puzzles to change the symbols?)
The side path is a place where I got stuck for HOURS, cursing at the screen. Finally my brother came in and asked me what was wrong. He just pointed to the path and I could'a strangled him .... Only real problem I had with this Age.

the hardest "puzzle" in entire game!
I've been stuck on this all-day, even with the walk through. I'd progressed further but not popped that red thing cos I couldn't work out how. I could not find my way back. I've wasted a day. Yes I've just popped the red thing but this puzzle has reinforced how much I dislike this game. How am I even supposed to know I have to pop it with light? How am I supposed to know I'm meant to focus the light in a chain reaction?
I think the bird puzzle is incidental. How could you engineer a bird getting trapped precisely at the right time - when an explorer is nearby?
The most difficult part of this game is finding these two side paths, haha.

Exactly! I've been on this all day. I'd gone much further into the game but never popped that red thing, then struggled to find my way back with the walkthrough. The guy narrating the walkthrough is really annoying. It's the same on another channel I use. Just play the game and help us out. The plot and characters make no sense to me whatsoever.
If it wasn't for the "secret" side paths they put in all their Myst games, the puzzles and story wouldn't be so painful to play through. I know Riven had some brutal secret paths that were essential to find for the completion of the game. Is it absolutely necessary to make them so tricky to find?

It's not so much a swamp as a pool. It looks like a very nice place to live.
i know shadyparadox did it already in his LP, but you should show how you can pop the pod while right next to it for those that haven't seen it.
No matter what I do, I can’t get the light to shine through the sunflower: I have tried so many times no matter how I line it up, it isn’t working.
I have to wonder how the lambent orchids developed the ability to reflect light. What would necessitate that?
Actually, if you think about it, it's a bit strange that Atrus mostly speaks English instead of D'ni, considering that Catherine would have had to learn the language from scratch, but she already knew D'ni when she and Atrus first met.
Feels like this particular Age drags on way too long. It's beautiful, yes, but it's not worth it being stuck in a jungle for a long time.
The second time I change direction of the light beam to the right to free the electroray it does not work, it does not work etc etc etc.
Mind you: after getting stuck I copied and saved every single step of the videos and it did not work, it did not work

I've been playing this up to this stage now. I enjoy the puzzles but I find them very very complex, and not very logical. However I do not understand the plot at all. I don't understand the gobbledygook in those pages or what that guy talks about when he pops up. Not one word. I'll just carry on clicking my way through the puzzles but I'm afraid the story is completely lost on me
