My grandmother passed away last week, and her cremation was two days ago. I'm a grown man, and a doctor, and am still having a hard time with the whole process of death, funerals, cremation, etc. I've been watching a lot of your videos to try and normalize things. The way you talk about things has been extremely comforting.

I work at a crematory, she did a great job...one thing though ,at my crematory anyway, we go through great lengths and a everytime process to insure we take care of peoples loved ones individually!..always!..I take great pride in being the last one to finish the process of someone's loved one to be at peace..its very important to me.

I figure there's some crematory out there where the workers have harsh New Yawk accents, hook the bodies up in the freezer like sides of beeves and grill them up like at down-home South Cackey-Lackey family barbecue. Sad when that happens, but I'm sure it does...somewhere.

    Hi Kari,
It's a few days since I saw your crematory tour. Because of your kindness and gentleness I told the family about your tour. I was confident in your thoroughness and discretion. Everyone was interested in the subject. So today we "cast" your tour on the big TV so they could see your presentation.
I showed it without comment, though I will tell them about the air tray having two jobs.
You did SO well that the family chose to go straight to your prep room tour next.
Thank you for your good, gentle presentation.

Thanks so much, my brother just past away, my sisters will bring his ashes back in a week or so from LACA, , my parents were cremated and their remains kept in a wall, at a memorial garden.
When it's my turn, I'll request my hardware, metal knee, several staples, screws be kept with my ashes, they were expensive and are part of me. Furthermore, they're stainless and not magnetic, I believe. I think my brother is about 120 lbs, how long in oven? An hour? Very nice video, thanks.

Instead I found this so educational, and actually touching at times, because it was obvious to me so much care and respect for the deceased is paramount. I’m a Christian and hold strong to my faith, but when you’re looking at death in the face .. or I should say ... knowing a parent is ... it’s a feeling I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

He even went to the funeral home his friend owned and told them his wishes. They went there within minutes of him passing & got his body. We was allowed to go back and see him at funeral home. But they only hold them I think it was 2 hours if not being cremated. Remember you are allowed to be with her .. to help get her ready . and even have a service before cremation. We had a one day pay your respect thing for dad with a big dinner down stairs. Had his urn but in middle of a large flower wreath. ..

Kari, Thank you so much for such a concise and respectful tour. When my mom departed this life she was cremated and I never realized how comforting it is to have her remains close. Years ago, I thought it was rather gruesome to think of that. But when we lose loved ones this process, and having their remains close in an urn gives a sense of comfort that is amazing. Most of my relatives were buried in cemeteries and that now seems very cold and lonely to me. Thanks again!

At the end of the day. You are gone. So cremation is fine with me. I already told my family. Do not spent $10,000 on a funeral. Spend $1,000 and just burn me. That is not me no more anyway. Iam already gone. That's just my shell.

My Mom was cremated in January 2013, I opted not to attend, but I was treated very well as the Funeral Home called me once her remains were ready. They did everything so we did not have to deal with details while grieving the loss of her. The care home, Glencroft of Glendale, Arizona took wonderful care of her and guided me as the surrogate through the entire process. Now I understand what her body went through after she passed. She was treated with dignity and respect, thus the family was treated with dignity and respect!! Thank You for the informative video as I also plan to be cremated once I pass away.

YeahJack: Hot Dogs Saved My Life! LOL As a former Avionics Tech, I would advise attaching a Heat Sink to your person before entering the burn area. Then, if possible, use a leaf blower to cause the electron pixie dust to be dispersed and mute the transference. Ear plugs and nasal blockers will also aid in the blockage of the cerebral transference. An OSHA approved Facial mask is optional, as any dust entering through an oral entrance is usually voided within the working day. LMAO

Thank you Kari for letting your followers see what happens during the cremation process. My son passed away a week and a half ago. I wanted him cremated so we could have his ashes and make memorial necklaces or whatever the rest of the family wanted to do to memorialize him. My daughter in law at the last minute changed everything that we had agreed on wanted him buried. The cost alone for burial is astronomical and her father and I had to pay for everything. Let your wishes be known and don't leave it to others who will be in emotional turmoil and will make arrangements based on guilt. Now my son is buried in North Carolina and I will not be able to visit his grave. You really made me feel comfortable with cremation. Thank you Kari!

For some people... There are others, like me, who do not care about funerals or the like at all. When it is my time, I hope to lay down at my favorite hog and deer hunting spot, and let the animals consume me as I had consumed them while I was living. If I know for sure that I am suffering from a terminal illness and there is no cure, I am simply going to discharge myself from any medical facility that I may be in against medical advice and hopefully while I still have enough energy to do so, and take that one final trip into the wilderness with my rifle and sleeping bag. I do not believe in life after death, or heaven, or hell, or any other man-made fantasy tales. The time to enjoy life to the fullest, contribute to society, and do good deeds, are when you are living. Once you are gone, you are gone. Ain't no coming back and ain't no "next step" in some "journey"... Just like you do not remember anything from before you were born, death is going to be the same thing.

    • @cyprixx
      @cyprixx 6 лет назад +1

@@AKPolarBear In my state, you are allowed to be a "witness", i.e. be there while the body is loaded into the retort and may participate. But then you would have to leave following the push of the on button. Some facilities let you do this by remote control.

Obese individuals are usually done on a cold hearth start up. That is where the retort is just started for the day and that person goes first.
If the larger person is put into a hot retort the grease could cause a run away fire and also overheat the refractory materials in the retort.
The retort is started after the person is deposited. Then the flame is brought down and the grease burns itself and you just regulate the temp with air.
You are so right about the 50 lbs of fat is equal to 12 gallons of gasoline. These grease fires can really get out of control and burn the crematorium down.
Great video. Hopeful someday I’ll be opening my own crematory.

We manufacturer, service/repair crematories, operator certification, troubleshoot, offer VE testing. You name it. :-) Love your channel Kari. Found it this evening and I've watched quite a few videos thus far. Add adding another note. 4000 degrees is also way over temp and the refractory would be shot after running at that temp. These bricks are rated for high temp but only about 32-3300 degrees absolute max, but should not get this high on a normal operation. Much more than that and you start talking about fires and serious structural issues. You are correct about regulated temp, each State is diff usually 1600 or 1800 degrees.

Momboo Jones she can do this Job as you would guess that others can Not do it. This is a very simple reason for why she can do this sort of job that is, cause the Lord Jesus has everyone working for him. He make perfect people for certain jobs. I certainly would not want to do this job but then I do not know if I could do it either. It sure would not be one of my first choices I must tell that. I would probably not last long. Good job to this woman that’s why she can do it we all have a job to do when we work for the Lord Jesus Christ. I don’t even know if this is the right thing to do with a human as we all used to be buried at one time when a person past. But all I know is somebody’s got to do this.

I thought it was weird, odd and i even thought twice on my relationship with her. But it came to light for me when she told me just how exciting it was for her after months passed. I will keep the details to myself but she got to use some of the tools and machines you mentioned. Glad i stumbled upon you here. 😊

I was never told by the funeral home that I could have been present when my husband was cremated. I would have been there so he wasn’t alone. We were together for 46 years and I’m very upset to know that being with him to the very end of his journey wasn’t offered to me.

Fact, they are not ran up to 4000 degrees. The brick have a limit of 2500 degrees. Average temp is 1550 to 1750. Florida is not 2000 degrees. 2000 degrees is what we call the high limit which means if the temp hits 2000 degrees it will turn burners off to cool back down to safe temps then starts back up. Those three machine are PPIII or also know as Super PowerPak. I was the senior tech for 10 years with this company building these machines and training people. Great job, a lot to learn.

Kari, I have a question on cremation for taller individuals. My dad is 300% sure he wants to be cremated but hasn't made any arrangements for himself, which is fine. I understand it will be my job to handle and I just want to make sure I'm educated. I understand that for the heavier folks there is an additional cost, but what about taller? He's almost 7feet but isn't obese. I understand the additional cost is because of additional weight but his being heavier is a product of his height not weight. I thought since the bones get pulverized and doesn't need additional gas to cremate that it would be the same? I'm so grateful you are here and available for questions because I would not know where to go for answers!! I cannot have a repeat of what we went through when my grandmother died. I swore I would be educated and would not bullied again.

Hi Kari, I agree. Thank God for you. It’s obvious that you care deeply about your job, and the families who choose to use cremation at the end of ones life.
Can you tell me how long it usually takes for all of the paperwork to be done (death certificate filed, burial/cremation signed off on) from the time of death (natural causes) to cremation or from the time of death where an autopsy is involved to cremation?
Thank you so much for the videos they are super informative.
