I lost both of them in 2020 in the same six months completely unexpectedly. Broke me to shreds. But it's the hard workers that do the work you do, that helps me so much and made it actually bareable. Years ago, I asked a friend who was a mortician to allow me to watch this process start to finish. I had seen every other part of the death process; I needed to see this as well. He was kind enough to let me watch him embalm several people. This was done with absolute respect for the deceased. While seeing the actual process is not something I recommend everyone do, it was essential for me. I was amazed at how it actually works, the problems that the mortician may run into and how they deal with it. I was also appreciative of this in depth look at the miraculous workings of the human body. But more than anything else, the most valuable affirmation I got from this is to know for myself that what the mortician is working on is an empty shell. The living presence has left the clay behind. It is one thing to be taught this, even to believe it. It is a precious gift to experience this for yourself. Thank you to the people who do this service; they are more important to the comfort of the families than most realize.

    I'm a nurse and even though I have seen alot of death you never get the opportunity to see this aspect of the end of life. I feel like the wonderful people in the funeral industry are definitely the unsung hero's of the difficulty journey when having to cope with a loved one passing away. I can personally say that when my grandma passed away I was shocked and delighted to see how much care they had put in to make her look like MY grammy. She was in liver failure and was swollen up 2 times her normal size when she passed. I was so worried about what I was going to see even though I'm a nurse and have become slightly more tolerant when dealing with death. When I walked up I was so happy to see her look like I wanted to remember her. I cried because I knew how much thought and care went and into preparing her. So thank you so much for all you do in the funeral industry. It makes a difference for sure!

When I went to her wake the casket was opened and the makeup was so heavy including her lips that were painted up with bright pink lipstick. Pastor, well said!!! As a nurse, it is so very important to care for folks who pass away. We must care for them, praying for them and supporting their families. My faith as a Christian is strong and I know for sure the veil is lifted. Absence in the body is present with our Lord,

      Hey Pastor, what the hell have you been smoking because I would like to buy some. When you die your body is done, period. Wasting land and polluting groundwater with formaldehyde so people can look at a dead body? No, it’s not respect, it’s a business. Try natural burial or cremation. Both options are more economical and easier on our environment.

    • @DallasStorm43
      @DallasStorm43 5 лет назад +4

      @@jefftalbot8371 You are a complete ass. Everyone in this world has a right to choose the way they want to happen with their bodies after death. Yes cremation is cheaper but do you realize a "natural burial" can be harmful to the Earth depending on the sickness? Just because you are wrapped in a biodegradable shroud naked doesn't make it any better than this. Apparently you didn't listen to her when they said they fully clean the body and use a wide range of stuff depending on the person to use while embalming. You should keep your negative and rude comments to yourself.

My special needs adult son was embalmed & I've had thoughts of what if the deceased isn't dead during or prior the preparation, instead they're in a unnoticed coma. That individual can't communicate. I know it sounds far fetched but just think there have been deceased who've woke up at their own funeral. I tried opening my sons eyes at his viewing because he was born sleeping with his eyes partially open throughout his life. That's how I wanted him remembered. Though it would have freaked ppl out who weren't aware.

      @@debkski6084 embalming takes place after blood is drained from the body and embalming fluid is delivered via a tube into the body. It’s not required by law to embalm a body unless you plan to have a showing, in a funeral home or church.

    Appreciate the in-depth, but not overly in-depth demonstration of the embalming and body preparation procedures embalmers go through! I definitely learned a lot from it, I never realized how much you guys have to do to prep a body for visitations and preservation! You are all very special, talented individuals and much appreciated!

    This is very interesting. I’ve always wondered what went on past the double doors in a funeral home that are marked Private or Authorized Personnel Only.

    Anything happens to me, I'm being embalmed, besides I won't know anything. I'll be in heaven with Jesus!

      Only if you have repented and FOLLOW him and keep his COMMANDMENTS.. it's not just believing and confessing with your lips.. read your OWN BIBLE and OBEY it til the END.

    The Bible tells of "words fitly spoken". Kari, you have fulfilled that scripture as kindly and as professionally as anyone that I have ever heard. Thank you for that and thank you for the service that you perform.
