Lol I loved when you said what’s going on with my hair. That’s so me lol. I am going to school for embalming and this was very helpful! Gives me a peek into what my career will be like.
This was very good. I was going to be a mortician back in the early/mid 1990s and I remember the embalming room was not even half the size of this one. That is amazing. I still remember all of the instruments, eyecaps, trocars and fluids from those days. That new embalming machine looks so technical. I remember the porta-boy from my days and it was way different looking. Great stuff! I would like to see more videos.
This was a very admirable idea; however, instruments, eye caps and trocar buttons are not the decision maker on whether to shuffle off to mortuary college or not to obtain ones licenses; viewing an embalming, perhaps two or more is the key to that. It is not for everyone and can be tough to find a funeral home that will allow this due to prep-room regulations; I was lucky in that I found one, and after visiting a few of them, one took me on as an apprentice so I could legally be in a prep-room with a licensed embalmer; an apprenticeship is easier and cheaper to let go of if one decides it is not for them. Video was very well done in excellent taste.
First of all thank you so much for educating us and taking us behind the scene of your funeral home that's the room a lot of people including myself have always wondered what does an embalming room look like I do have another question why do funeral homes do not show the actual embalming process so that's why I wanted to see what actually goes on so far as the actual embalming process and also where is the choke art that you didn't show that to the part you used to disinfect the abdomen what they called cavity embalming
I’m replying and have a question. I would like to see a video where there is a step by step explanation of what an embalming actually happens. My question is Does a piercing with a sharp instrument still happen ? To make sure the person is dead?
Please turn your camera to a landscape position, it gives a much better view. I enjoyed the content, you just need to work on the production (like landscape view, and making Joe as easy to hear as you were-it was a bit of a struggle to hear him. I did get out my headphones to make it easier to hear him, but then you were extra loud. I don’t make videos much, so am sorry to have no practical suggestions on how to solve the audio problem, but putting the camera in landscape position would be a sure fire help.
Funny how he side-stepped the question about the cosmetics being used over and over again on different people. The answer is, YES they are. I know it may sound gross and perhaps almost disrespectful, so that is probably why he chose to skirt around that question and bring forth the idea of families bringing in their own cosmetics. The cosmetics used for deceased people are special though, as they respond better to cold skin, as opposed to those found for the living. I am impressed with that embalming room though. It is respectful, organized and professional.
When I was 11 and at my gradma's funeral I thought my grandma winked at me. After your embomimg procedure can the person cominicate with their loved ones? I loved my grandma very much and she died of junas. I'm 73 now and would love to see her after I die.
I was thinking- why not embalm with chocolate and marshmallow, then place the buddy in a gingerbread coffin? Yknow- if you want S'MORE business options
I'm writing a book with a scene in the prep room of a family owned funeral home. Could this general area (in the basement) be referred to as the mortuary? Or is there something more accurate?
It is not nearly as popular. Mainly, it is the case of three reasons: 1) funeral professionals making it known that embalming is not required 2) public becoming more aware of other options that don't require embalming 3) body present ceremonies are decreasing in popularity in the US
I own a retired church we live in it right now but had a idea to turn it into a funeral home. It is 5,000 square ft . And has a full basement. Any one up for a new funeral home?
I could never do this. I can fly you through the most difficult weather on earth in an aluminum tube, flying at 540MPH, but the funeral stuff....nope, not for a million dollars per day.
do you carry out disinfection of instuments onsite using a washer/disinfector unit similair to those used in a operating suite? or are they sent out for that process?
How would you respond to those who say embalming is utterly un needed, horrendous for the environment and just a way to squeeze those extra dollars from a grieving vulnerable family
I'm curious if you've come across long fibrous rubbery type clots within the last year or so. Something that you've never seen before until more recently
Yes I agree. God knows what goes on when the cameras off in there while they’re working on these poor people that passed away so one big joke isn’t it to them . This woman recording this needs to stick to her other job certainly not cut out for educational videos. And the gentleman had no microphone on could barely hear him, even with the sound turned all the way up.
It’s part of life!, you try to do this job!, it’s not for everyone? But people like them we need.you have to have fun in any job! You will go bat crazy!
I have worked in the ED for 3 decades, and consider myself partly sane after seeing death and trauma all those years. You have to develop "gallows humor" they are joking about the place, sometimes due to stress. Not directed at a body
I could have appreciated this video, but I has to stop in it about half way. Her voice was too loud, I think she didn't have any insight about how close her mouth was to the recording and when she interrupted him so so many times, and the laughing, to me was offensive and too loud. Wont be trying to watch anything she puts out again. Absolutely needs to study up on some recording skills and etiquette... I am sure this could have been informative, it's too bad.
This is the cleanest & well equipped embalming room I've seen.
Thank you. We do attempt to keep it clean regularly. Its not a room you want dirty.
tables don't look very comfortable i guess it doesn't matter
Straps on lifting machine looked filthy as does the floor, he suits being a funeral director with his almost void personality
Great video joe. You are a very nice guy. Keep up the great work
Thank you... Enjoyed seeing this. Very clean. Would love to see more videos like this.
Give you guys alot of respect for what you do.
I Think/Believe This Is Excellent
Info.And I Like The Personality
You Bring.Richard.

The laughing and joking, this is not a joke. Otherwise a good tour of the sacred room.
This is there job, they need to stay positive amongst one another, I'm sure there not laughing or joking Infront of families

You mean the Trocar, which is used to aspirate the internal organs. One was there when he opened the drawer with the tubing in it.

Extremely clean

Using a cell phone lengthways across produces a better picture if it's used as a camera.
So excited to hear green burial!
Sweet.

nice video
This may seam off topic but where did he get his sport coat?? I love it!!!
I love the sound of the pulse mode on the embalming machine
Why you got to use the bombing fluid able to help somebody die tell me why
More lives please?
I was thinking- why not embalm with chocolate and marshmallow, then place the buddy in a gingerbread coffin? Yknow- if you want S'MORE business options
♥️ people dying to get in♥️🤣
Is there a tube they stick down your neck??
why when some folks die their eyes are staring up and their mouths are open?
I think a quince fruit did lead me to see these very significant rooms of death. Then it's a Quince fruit has unknown powers.

Hi I have worked in a funeral Home when I was just a teenager, I would like to know if embalming is still the same as it was in the 70s?
It is not nearly as popular. Mainly, it is the case of three reasons: 1) funeral professionals making it known that embalming is not required 2) public becoming more aware of other options that don't require embalming 3) body present ceremonies are decreasing in popularity in the US
How long does a body emboldened last after burial
❤do you need embalming even in cremation and burial
Thank you for the video
Does the body become stiffer after embalming fluid has been used ???
I own a retired church we live in it right now but had a idea to turn it into a funeral home. It is 5,000 square ft . And has a full basement. Any one up for a new funeral home?
Does everyone get emblems before cremation?
How many day to preserve maam
It must b hard able to do this
Why is there a toilet under the table ?
You have to torch the dead bodies? By cutting and put screws in them?
I want to see more videos
Why do you inbalm the cavity as well as the veins?
I could never do this. I can fly you through the most difficult weather on earth in an aluminum tube, flying at 540MPH, but the funeral stuff....nope, not for a million dollars per day.

Could barely hear anything that Joe was saying...
Sorry! It was one of our first videos and we now know a mic is needed next time.
Where's the body fluid and blood go? Does it drain with water? If so it's mixing with the drinking water.
Yes it goes right down the drain.
I'm curious if you've come across long fibrous rubbery type clots within the last year or so. Something that you've never seen before until more recently
Wtf 🤬
Other than a badly burnt body what would make a body unviewable?
Physical trauma from an accident involving any machine. Chemical trauma. Any body that was not found for several weeks... etc.
they use a head block i guess the hindi brick didn't catch on
Does a body have to go into frigid
Could not hear Joe speak.
❤hi there when I pass do i have to be embalmed ❤
Nice video but could not hear the guy.
How long this take
Are the organs removed from the body or why do you mash them?
I wouldn't touch anything there with out gloves theirs germs . And if you forget to wash your hands touch your face.

Please will the lady stop talking over the top it’s very distracting.
The laughing and joking is not funny at all. Not very professional
I agree.
AMEN 🙏 ❤

Well they won't admit it but they do b depressed when wrkn n that field
@@rosearmstead4585 how yk
@@vickyy8126 I use to date a funeral Director/embalmer
I think he was very professional. It is not a business where you want to be seen joking around. His portrayal was perfect.
Are you married
