A bit of both. We have a storage unit with furniture as things here come fully furnished. We donated and sold a lot of stuff. It was hard at first but feels great now.

We left Alex, Va in June 2022:) got tired of those taxes relocated to Sanford, Fl now we can fly to Panama 3 times a yr:)
What about homes that are more on the outskirts, like semi rural areas?

Only a couple of small hotels. You can find plenty of vacation rentals though. Try vrbo.com for starters

MI need a job in Panama
Jobs are only for those who have established permanent residency under a visa that allows for work. And the pay here is much less than you are used to. If you are doing a business it is much easier. Or do remote work from the US.

Is burning garbage a problem in that area, as i have heard it is in some locations there? (lots of smoke) Approximate cost of sending a small container there? I have a 5 by 10 foot storage unit at the moment. Do you need a car there, or is there a regular shuttle taking you to local shopping, is there a daily bus that goes to panama city if you want to go there from time to time? Can i live there on 1800$ a month?

I will cover the first one here. They do controlled burns of trash and shrubbery during the dry season. We saw it a bit more while living in Coronado since the land is flat and we were in a hi-rise. We did just have a major fire near the city that caused smoke for a couple of days. That was unusual. Hope this helps!
