the beach you mentioned at 8:24 of your video is called Playa Serena. dont know why you couldnt find the name as it appears right on google maps. and as the name implies the water is quite calm and serene there. great spot for swimming. I loved the mix of black and white sand. there were endless patterns formed by the mixing of the two, especially where little streams ran out across the beach. in some places it would appear to be all black sand but when your foot broke through it would be all white underneath and you would leave a trail of white footprints. great point about the lack of crowds and N vendors! what a nice change from Mexico where you have to keep saying "no gracias" every 2 minutes.
Thanks , ya I realized that about the beach name after the video was done, but I wasn’t going to re-edit and re-produce our little video to correct that. Yes, so refreshing from both Mexico and Costa Rica
Well my question how does this compare to White Rock or Birch Bay beaches as far as accessibility .But you seem to have wide open beaches in Panama and like you said parking by the beach not good.
If you stay in Playa Coronado it’s east to walk to the beaches, in White Rick you just need to pay to park. Itch Bay is kinda a mix or blend of the two. Of course the water temp is much Warner in Panama !!! White Rock is pretty easy to live close to, just wish it was warmer. LOL.
you just need to explore a bit and find places to park. at 8:24 of the video where he talks about "going around the corner", there is a big open field there with free parking. it is gated and there is a sign that says no trespassing but the gate is left open during the day and I parked there 2-3 hours with no problem. the gate is closed after sunset.
We were there in Coronado in December two years ago and loved the black Volcanic sand that sparkles as well. It was neat to visit but not sure if it could be "home" for us. Great and honest review! 👍
Thanks for watching !!! I love getting feedback for the videos we make, just a hobby of ours in retirement to keep myself busy. Hope you have a great move !! We have never been to Argentina but someday we would both love to go there. Cheers
Great video, guys, thanks for sharing this. Living in germany, i am looking for a place to migrate to, because europe and especially germany is going crazy. Panama seems like a pretty good place to life.
if you go east of Nueva Gorgona there is a big wide flat beach called Malibu beach where it's all nature and no houses. the beach there was flat and wet from the tides and it was like a giant mirror reflecting nearby mountains on the ground as you walked. you would need a car to get there though. my other recommendation is Punta Chamay about a 15 minute drive east on the main highway and then a 30 minute drive through local roads to an isolated fishing community that has beaches on both the bay side and the ocean side.
The bar was actually in Nuevo Gorgana, we just walked there on the beach from Playa Coronado. It was call “Beach Bar Bahia” We did not find one restaurant or bar on the beaches of Playa Coronado. All residences. Thanks for watching and for your comment !!!
yep, Beach Bar Bahía. and there is actually one other one close to there called Restaurante Arena Mar which is more of a locals place where they grill fresh caught fish.
It was quiet there (in early April) because the Panamanian Summer holidays are over (mid- December to February-ish) and the seasonal Snow birds will have started to return North. Also much quieter during week days.
Lucinda's version of Van Halen was awesome! 😂 I love the fun facts you share of your travels. I hope you two get to retire there.
LOL. While we were down there, most every timeI said Panamá, that’s what she did. LOL.
Ok, fine, as soon as you said Panama is one the most popular places to retire, you had me... 🤔🙄☺️.. I'll stay tuned 😂👍👍
So many advantages I never knew before !!! Not a slam dunk but it did raise our eyebrows
Lucinda😂😂What a beautiful city. WOW! Nice houses. I can see why people want to retire there. The weather is amazing and right on a beach.
It was an amazing place if you in the mindset to find a nice place to live !! Not a typical vacation destination
Perfect for snowbirds
That black beach is stunning! And the layers when it eroded? WHOAH. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
The black and white marbled together was amazing
Soooo interesting.. and beautiful! Imagine looking east for the sunset! Tx for the great share today!
Thanks for watching !!

Love the way and black and white sands marbles together. Was a little hypnotic sometimes with the waves moving then around.

Great video.
We passed through Coronado and loved it.

I heard one of the reasons snow birds love Panama is because they speak English, health care is pretty good, people are friendly and no income taxes
That’s right. Our next video will talk about several of those points.
Retire to Panama ? … comes out Thursday
Great video!
Here in Panama... Atlantic=North; Pacifc= South .....
For the rest of the Continent: Oceans are located East & West.!!!
That’s true !!
So easy just to imagine it the same as the rest of North America, even though that’s not right.
Thanks for sharing!!

That makes sense.
Thanks for the comment !!
Why is the sand black ? I loved the fact the beaches aren’t busy
Black and white on the same beach !! Old lava fields. It’s an Isthmus you know !!!
lava sands from volcanic activity.
Its totally dead
You can golf at Visa Mar about 15 minutes away and it`s pay as you play.
Thanks for the information !!
If you do t have a car, are taxis easy to get to and from there ?
The beach you couldn't find the name is Playa Serena
Yes !! We couldn’t find a sign anywhere but I never looked close enough with Google maps.
Thanks for the comment !!!
Have a great day !
The view is great, but my grand kids like to surf. Off of my list.
Good point !!!
Have you been to Cerritos Baja Mexico ?
What a great place for surf and for kids !!!
Thanks for watching and for the comment !!
there is actually surf nearby in San Carlos there is a surf school I had my first lesson there good luck
Looks beautiful but a bit hot for me 🥵
Yes it was hot. I now know why they have siestas in the afternoon !!! LOL
Im there now its not bad lot pf clouds
A lot of People retire in Panama, only a few stay permanently, not much to do.
Colombia and Mexico are more fun!
Hello
Thanks for your comment. We have been to all 3 countries and I know where you’re coming from.
Have a great week.
Cheers
My goodness, to complicated getting to the beach, not interested. Too many other places in Panama with less complication.
You have a good point here. I guess that contributes to why the beaches are empty.
