Thanks for this awesome starter kit! :) I have created 85 videos thus far! Hope to continue to come up with meaningful and valuable content for the RUclips community and beyond.
Cheers to 2022!
What kind of tripod were you using could you add the link please.
I've posted 25 videos so far. I'm 4 months in and hoping for the best in 2022. Thanks for the awesome tips!
*_about 30 on my current channel but my old one had like 80_*
I just started a channel and I do not have any vids yet
Such good tips! My first video was delayed and delayed b/c I was nervous or felt I didn’t have the right equipment. Once I pressed record there was no turning back! I just passed 1000 subscribers and am so grateful for this channel helping me to do that!
Wow, so cool and congrats!!!
congrats! I'll be there right behind you! I feel once you get over that hump you simply take off from there!
How long did it take you to reach 1000 subscribers? I haven’t started yet. Congrats by the way….
@@carmenbenyair6384 it took me 2.5 years. It would’ve happened faster but I was very inconsistent at the beginning and did not niche down fast enough.
To those of you who are just starting out like me, I say this, passion for your subject and consistency bloody works!
A dream without action can become a nightmare.
wow, that's deep. nice quote!
So true. I feel so lost. I want to create content but just need some one on one help. I'm willing to pay someone but its not easy to find someone.
Editing 101:
9:03 - Edit your A Roll (main video)
9:15 - Edit your B Roll (supporting shots, shots that you take to elaborate on whatever you’re talking about)
9:25 - Add music
This is what I struggle with, A LOT. Thanks for this video, it was really helpful! 🫶
I agree I’m an older woman and this is my biggest fear! It’s like sometimes technology goes over my head
How to make your first RUclips video: *You gotta just press record!* 🤣
I heard Seans voice while reading that!
Same! And as basic as it is, it literally is what prompted me to "start before you're ready." I can't believe I've been doing YT for 6 months now. I learn every single day. I wish I could afford better audio and a camera. My camera doesn't have a port. But I'm focusing on the content first and the tech stuff will follow (I hope!) 😉
Very true.
I read this comment in Sean Cannel’s voice 😂
@@ChattieCathie very funny but you are right
Nolan, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! This content is worth GOLD. Especially for a beginner, like me! Worth watching TWICE.
Thanks... I actually know more than I thought I did! Your videos are fun, informative, and uplifting.
Every once in a while I come across a fun personality to watch - that is you. I only hope I can start my first video with as much personality. Thanks for the tips!
Nolannn!!! Thank you for all your wonderful videos! I have learned so much from you and I want you to know how we are all listening and learning so much from you and all the people at Think Media! I started my channel, Create your best life, in January, and I am following VRA , and I’m building my business brick by brick, slowly but surely. Thank you so much once again!
I just launched my RUclips trailer 3 weeks ago. It was a big relief to finally do it as it was taking forever to launch. Now, there are other concerns but oh well. I use a script and teleprompter. I film it several times. Going without a script takes me way too long in preparation. I have never been very good at ad libbing.
Have you tried using bullet points instead of a teleprompter?
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup Thank you! I will try that.
@@potentialreality 😉 good thing we can delete and redue portions, I sure make mistakes all the time!
Did you use movie maker trailer builder.. I did and it really came out great,, i was so surprised
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup Thank goodness for the delete button...rock on
I didn't know about the watch connecting to the iPhone to control the camera on the phone. Learned something new. Thank you.
Ya I love using that! So convenient 🙌🏻
Thanks for sharing great tips. I remember that I used an iPhone 6s to make my first video and I don't know anything about filming, I started to learn from 0.
I think with YT, we need to be consistent on this journey, improve content everyday, it's not a story of 1-2 months, when you focus on what, you will get results from it.
interesting you say that because my first video was on a Iphone 6s!
Indeed, I am shooting on my iPhone too! It's pretty awesome and easy to just whip out the phone and shoot!
We learn something new everyday from Sean's videos. I think we will never stop learning.. so much great stuff plus everyday something new comes along
My first video was DIY on a Maglite flashlight and what Sean said is true. Man, I don't know how many times I messed up, and took me a lot of time just for that video. Once, I am done editing and uploaded it to youtube and my video had BiG FAT zero views. I don't know why, I was rookies at the time. Later down the road, I found out why I didn't get any views because I didn't add any keywords/tags and with bad thumbnail. After I fixed the thumbnail and add all the keywords/tags then the algo started recommending my video to the world. My video was from 0 view to over 5k views ever since I did all that. Thanks to you Sean. Now, if anyone out there were doing your first video, don't be discouraged by all those things. Just be yourself and do what you love, and you'll be fine. Happy shooting your video and Merry Christmas.
I have pretty much all my equipment to start filming and I have to owe a lot of the information I got from you guys.
y'all have seriously put in the work doing these videos helping people.
Thanks!
Just start! 😉
Thanks so much for that feedback!
They are good..and we saw quite a few that tried to teach this stuff
Thanks for this video. It was informative, concise and fun to watch. I’ve done a few test vids and I’ll definitely will implement these steps for my next vid! 👍🏾
I’ve made 6 videos so far using what I’ve learned watching these videos. I have to say, the point about scripting and not trying to write a full on script is very helpful. Also, the point on how to record the video (just start the sentence again if you get it wrong) is so helpful. Thank you Think Media
Let's continue to work on our craft!!! Thankful for this community!
Same here about starting the sentence over .. in stead of doing the whole thing over.. or trying to edit it out... good stuff
There's also a tool launching that's basically an AI scriptwriting helper that trains on existing youtube channels of your choice, so you can try out different cadences, tones of voice, etc. Search for Skryptly, hope that helps!
Finally gained the confidence to start my own channel! Thank you for the inspiration!! Good luck to everyone out there, you got this👍🏽
yeah, I am motivated to continue my RUclips Channel, gain confidence here that I can do it.
nice channel man, keep it up!
@@HeyEveryoneHi really appreciate that! Thanks, I’ll definitely keep at it💪🏽
Thanks for the video! The videos are so helpful. The talking to the camera and smiling, along with remembering the B-Roll, were the areas I see I need to work on. Thanks.
Awesome, glad it helped!!
This is WILDLY helpful thank you so much for taking the time to make this.
Thank you for posting this. I am trying to start my channel and I have 30 - 40 videos that will never see the light of day lol. I appreciate this so much!
This was so helpful I’m saving it thank youuuu!! 🙏🙏
I started about 10 months ago, and shot 19 videos, and have improved from being incredibly awkward to a little less awkward. however after watching many help and advice channels and videos like these, I have learned a great deal and have gone back and made changes to those videos and have seen a definite positive influence towards them. I now wish I could go back in and make many edits with in the videos to fix a lot of horrible stuff, but don't see any way of doing that, and I'm concerned about editing the saved copy and reuploading the modified version and losing the views and stats already accounted for on my channel.
You could make them private
We started about a year ago and what a difference from our first video's to the one we make now. Thanks to Sean and his team
Love this video, super motivating, thanks!
Thank you, great video. Very helpful tips. Just starting out here and I’m tackling how to edit and what’s an easy beginning program to use.
I'm on my 15th video now but this was still super helpful! Here's to a great year on RUclips in 2022 :)
You're doing great on your channel, you just gained a subscriber.
I hope to release my first video today😊.
@@ebiztechlab thank you so much and good luck!!

One of the clearest video's I've watched. Thank you.
Thanks so much, I’ve been researching and studying your videos and I realize I just need to shoot the darn thing. I’m starting my channel this January and I’m scared but I feel almost prepared. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks again from a RUclips newb! Mo❤️
Don't stress. You won't mess this up.
Videos don't need to be perfect to be good and entertaining.
You've got this!
@@makeracistsafraidagain thank you so much for the encouragement. It truly matters 🤗
This video is awesome!! Great job Nolan :)
I started RUclips slightly over a year ago and used to really struggle making videos but recently I challenged myself to post 12 in a month so it definitely gets easier!! The final one is coming out tomorrow:)

Great video! I am wanting to start doing read aloud videos on kid's books. Hopefully it will be helpful for teachers / parents and exciting for kids. Thanks for the great info.

Thanks man this was a great tutorial!
Thank you! Wonderful video and I am starting today!
just what I needed now, lol.
thank you so much
thank youu so much for all the tips very useful and reliable !
great video as always, its always daunting starting out like myself, so many how to's....heres what you need to do etc. but this simplistic approach is more my style lol
Hello Nolan, this video is extremely helpful. Thanks a lot!
Very helpful video, thank you for making it!
This was so helpful! Thank you so much! :)
Hey! I really liked your vibe. Thanks for the information. I appreciate you!
Hey Nolan, thanks so much for this video. Truly compelling ! ✊🏼 I’m based in Australia. I wonder if it’s possible to have a mentorship program, intensive course or whatever might help me to kickoff my RUclips channel ASAP. I got so much stuff in my mind I’d love to share and your BS-free approach of Think Media seems to be exactly what I need to start with a solid structure and “press record” The info that you provide in this video is amazing and just make sense. I only imagine how much I could learn from you guys. Again thanks so much 🙏🏼 and I wish you nothing but the best in 2022 🤗
Looks like a beautiful Arizona sunrise in the beginning! Great video overall!
Thanks bro!!
Excellent tips in this video. Thank you!
This was the most helpful tutorial I watched!!! Thanks so much! 🙏
This was so helpful and I’m finding this after posting for over a year!!! Great tips 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You're so welcome!
that watch is a great idea nolan! you could do a vid on that alone called "how to get a cheap monitor"
I've only just started a channel. Put up a few videos to get the hang of things, bit will push much harder in the New Year. Your videos have been awesome. Straight to the point and useful. Thank you!
Good luck!
It's fun to follow the analytics.

Excellent video - just brilliant. Thank you.
yo thanks, you have helped me out a lot. I finally stared my podcast called "The Webinar" and only 3 subs so far hopefully I can get more soon!! really excited about this journey, so happy I finally got it off the ground!!
This is such incredibly helpful information
thnx so much I noted this down and I'm starting a RUclips channel!!!
Thank u so so much. I promise myself I'm starting today ❤
Ty for the steps
thank you so much!
This is great!!! Thank you! 🤗
I subbed just because of this video. Love ur energy! Great advice ❤
This has been a very helpful video. Now comes the good part wich is apply it all !!! Thank you very much !!!
This is a pretty good startup guide. Just one positive criticism. You talked about getting the sound right, but your video had 5 different kinds of sound quality. The volume was consistent, but the quality dwindled consistently. Would want to check that out. I'm bookmarking this, because I'm definitely coming back to rewatch it and get inspired again. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Thanks for this video 🙂
Thanks for the video bro, that truly helps
Thank you so much for this. Actually I’ve already done most of the steps that you mentioned in the video but I was just not able to get myself to shoot it but that’s not the case anymore so once again thank you so much I gotta go coz I’ve a video to shoot haha!
Awesome!!!
I love the message in the small lines 🌱💪🏽😉
Thank you so much for the tips!😁
Great tips! Thank you!
Thank you for this!
Thanks for the tip about using your apple watch to use the rear facing camera on your phone! Love it!
Thank you for helpful advice and motivation.😊
Thank you so much for all these advices! I wouldn't have think about the B roll and I can see how important it is.
PS: you really, really make me want to get an apple watch, using it as a screen seems so great!
Very cool stuff. Thank you!
I’ve made a few hundred vids but this is still a great refresher. 2023 I wanna jump start my YouTubing and build my page to where it should have been years ago!
Great tips for beginners! 🌟
First time I have ever seen the watch used as a monitor. That was clever!
Thanks for your helping me think Media ❤
Greetings! I'm new here! Thank you for this fabulous video! Much love and blessings everytime! 🙏🏽🥰🤗💕

tyy!! verry helpful
Great video here. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for sharing your video.
great tips, and tricks....loved the apple watch set up
One big challenge for me is becoming more comfortable talking to myself more naturally. I have a huge mental block when it comes to selfies and I am slowly learning about a laundry list of editing issues. But I started making videos for my biggest fan (and my toughest critic) - me. Getting ANY views tickles me in some weird way.
