You will get a letter in the mail from FMCSA for your audit call. Do this ASAP. It’s easy, they basically just go over your application to verify what you’ve entered.

You have to wait 21 days from the time you apply for your Authority and you want to make your insurance effective a couple days prior to that to make sure the insurance company has time to process the filings so your MC will be active on the 21st day.

You should do a video about taxes with a box truck. And if you can include hotels as an example or can’t. Also loop holes in buying a box truck or how to use it as a tax cut.

people that have businesses also don't insure the driver through a rental company or even there own equipment which turns into lawsuits and failure because there's no way to change the contracts once you mess up or your employee.Theres so many out there doing that it's insane only if Amazon and other companies knew if the driver is even insured in there agreement with the bussiness owner I seriously doubt they know .

For amazon relay does their box truck requirements include needing a CDL or non CDL trucks? Or just as long as you have a 26' box with a lift gate?
I spoke to Progressive regarding Insurance as you have spoke about and guided us on,and they suggested Truckers Book Keeping Services for DOT/MC and Authority set up. Is this something you would recommend sir?

It will be tough to do it part time due to the cost of insurance. All policies will be 12 months and they don't have an on/off switch.

Does Ryder have a mileage cap with their trucks doing Amazon? I’ve heard from them that there’s unlimited miles, but on the link you provided for them I see it has mileage limits and then additional charges if you go over those limits. Is That correct?
They just updated that on 6/15/2021. It's not a hard cap, they just add additional mileage rate...soooo...always negotiate!

How much is it to add trucks past the initial 1? Like a per truck estimate?
There's a lot of variables that go into that. If insurance on one truck costs $10k, 2 trucks probably doesn't cost $20k...it might be more and it probably won't be less until you have a year or two on your authority and establish that history with insurance. Driver's history, cost of trucks, how fast you are trying to add trucks...there's a lot that goes into calculating all of that

No, you do not. You only have one policy. In the situation with Ryder Rentals, you will use their Physical Damage insurance but that is it.
what happened if you get sick and have to stop driving fro a weeks or a month ? coronavirus they have to pay insurance even if thy had to take time off??
If you have to stop driving for an extended period of time; you need to do a voluntary revocation of your authority and get your insurance cancelled to avoid racking up additional business expenses while you are not able to continue hauling.

Workers’ compensation insurance in all jurisdictions where your company operates
Employer liability not less than $100,000 per occurrence
And do I need workers compensation insurance if I'm the only owner/operator?
Progressive does not currently offer those coverages. However, they are not required to work for Amazon Relay unless you are required to have it in the state you operate out of.
Progressive offer it in Nee Jersey and Pennsylvania that i know. For 1 million general liability.
Amazon now requires DOT & authority to be atleast 180 days old.

What is a realistic insurance quote for a 26 ft box truck down payment and monthly payment?
There are too many variables to determine a realistic quote. I have seen quotes as low as $5,000 a year and as high as $90,000 a year. I would say an average would be $25,000 in most states.

depends on you’re region as well Amazon don’t use box trucks in every region they only basically use box trucks In areas that don’t have a DC within a certain distance of your area they mainly use box trucks to hit areas like small towns and cities that aren’t near a main hub and that don’t use their own drivers so keep that in mind also insurance for Amazon is required to be a million dollar policy just to qualify for Amazon relay this is what most you tubers aren’t telling u is the amount of people who are getting into this business and that fail within the first month or two. u will definitely think about doing this if everyone knew the amount of people who don’t make it and fail doing Amazon relay put it this way more then people who are successful that’s a fact

So as far as I understand it 26 ft box truck drivers as well as cargo van drivers do not require CDL licenses, is that correct?

For CA it is very hard to find insurance if you are renting due to progressive being the primary carrier in CA that allows rentals. We do not have a market in CA for rentals on new ventures.

Can I run Amazon Relay or other company loads in my 2 door F150 with a topper?
Not amazon relay, possibly other load boards but you won't be able to do much with an F150 because of the weight limits.

He is correct. Progressive told me I would need to be insured for at least 1 year before they’ll insure me as a new company. Even with 2 years driving experience. That’s here in California.
Why does Amazon want a single owner operator to have workers comp and employer liability insurance.as a start up the rates they pay doesn't make financial sense nor should it be a concern of theirs
Its based on if the owner operator is a W-2 employee or 10-99.
