Just discovered this channel great information! I live pretty close to the Garner Distribution center. I've been told that Amazon needed drivers and the pay was good. I've just started researching but I havent seen any requirements on the truck itself such as year model and ELD capability. I have access to an older but maintained '92 Peterbilt 379 so its ELD exempt. Alot of companies aren't interested in older trucks.
Amazon's requirements for the actual truck are pretty minimal. It basically just needs to be in working condition and they don't care at all about ELD's. That's not their concern.

Can I get insurance on day 19 of 21 and the insurance would be good to go that week. I heard it takes 10 days to process.
It shouldn't take that long. It depends on which insurance company you go with but Progressive does the federal filings same day and then FMCSA normally gets your authority status updated within a day or two.

Yes, you need the truck updated on the policy every time! That’s super important!

Anything over 2 years is treated the same.

Your MVR does not affect getting accepted with Amazon Relay, your MVR does affect your insurance though.

How you get insurance on a truck rental you don’t have? It’s confusing.
You update the VIN on the policy after you get the rental truck assigned to you. The policy will be written with a VIN # from the company you are renting with.

You have to make edits by submitting a MCS-150. Go here: li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/PKG_REGISTRATION.prc_option
I get the number is $61/day (1000000)$24/day(750000)for insurance from budget truck rental
The insurance from budget will not work for your motor carrier authority. You need a full policy outside of the insurance offered by the rental companies.

How do you get insurance without a vin#?
You can get quotes without a VIN, you don't get an insurance policy though without a VIN. You need a VIN to bind the actual policy. If you can reserve a truck with the rental company and have them give you the VIN of the truck you will be getting, that's great, they won't always do that though, sometimes they will give you a VIN from a list of VIN's they might have, you just have to make sure the VIN of whatever truck you end up getting actually gets updated on the policy!

How do you get insurance quotes if you are renting a truck? To get an insurance quote, I believe you have to have the vehicle infor (VIN, cost etc)
You don't have to have a VIN number to get an accurate quote, however you do need the year, make, model, and weight class of the type of unit you are looking at renting.

Hey Daniel is it okay to use The MC and DOT of 18 wheeler trcuking company to run and operate a box truck rental for Amazon.
If you plan on renting a truck under that company's business name, adding the truck(s) and driver(s) to their insurance, and you have permission to do all of that, then yes you can. Are you talking about doing it any differently?
