Woke up this morning to see that there is another Lupus warrior joining that club which we never asked to be a part of. Halsey is an incredible artist. It is such a strange feeling to have your own thoughts and experience echoed by someone you admire so much. Absolutely worth a listen. Halsey-you’re not alone. I know it must have been incredibly hard to share this with the public. I have been through the chemo, the infusions, the isolation, the feelings of betrayal against my own body. It is incredibly difficult to allow yourself to be bare to the world when you are so vulnerable. You are a hero to put yourself out there like this. Just got the call that my uncle with a lifelong chronic illness passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. He lived a good long life, and was surrounded by loved ones. I opened instagram for a distraction and found myself here. Thank you, Halsey, for always having the right words we need to hear.
Please know that your thoughts can make you ill or make you well. Watch the documentary "Healed" ..It was life-changing for me. In my opinion, it is the radiation and chemo that kills you. It's literally poison. And it may kill the bad cells, but it kills the good ones as well. The medical and pharmaceutical industries don't make money off of people being well. And anything that is unresolved mentally or emotionally, has to manifest in the physical.. so that you know to pay attention to it and heal it. Resolve inner turmoil and your physicality will reflect that. "I think, therefor I am." And know that God loves you and you can speak to Him always. No fear. Just love. ❤

As a person with chronic illness myself who both feels like a burden to the people around me and is sometimes made to feel like a burden, who has experienced the anger and exhaustion of doctors not listening and people thinking I’m just being dramatic, knowing it’s not the end of the world but feeling like it is or maybe that it should be, this song really hits close to home. It’s both comforting and sad when you have something like this in common with someone, because it’s the last thing you want to or want someone else to relate to, even if it makes you feel less alone.
It has been obvious for years that halsey is an extraordinary writer, but with this track... absolutely broke me on the first listen, I'm swinging between the pain the lyrics brought and absolute awe for this masterpiece

I started to admire Halsey and her passionate for music, especially her friendship with BTS and the fact that she, Chris Martin from Coldplay, and Megan thee Stallion that truly understands and appreciates BTS’s music. I remember when my doctor uttered those words to me, telling me the one thing I dreaded the most. I told my partner and held my breath, terrified of my world crashing and in turn destroying theirs. But here we are, almost two years later and we're alive, we're in love. We're okay. I pray that everyone find a love as soft and divine as this. A never ending love, even if it feels like your story is over.

He's also your caretaker in times you need it & vice versa - even tho that may look completely different... Just don't compare! :) The best way my family member (who doubles as a caretaker when needed) put it that helped me understand was: if the roles were reversed and YOU were in your husband's position, would you want your partner to feel guilt, shame, or feel like a burden?! Absolutely not!! You would do everything in your power to help them. It can be incredibly difficult from a caretaker standpoint to watch and not always be able to do anything to help/ease the suffering. I still struggle with guilt of not being able to help out with yard work, play with the pup outside, or even take her out for a few mins on days like today when it's 90°+ as the feels like temp! But my family doesn't WANT me to do those things cuz they know it'll hurt me even more. It's strange how we can be our own worst enemies ... Cuz knowing all of this still doesn't stop the feelings of guilt. So... This is my super long winded way of saying you are NOT ALONE! You are HEARD! And you are worthy of self- Compassion!! (Top tip: I like to use Pinterest to find affirmations, quotes, photos, etc that are centered around chronic illnesses on the days I am mentally struggling the most, and sometimes on the days I'm bed bound too. “At first it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain”. This song resonates with me so heavily. I am 22 now and have been suffering from severe health problems since I was 18. Epilepsy, 4 autoimmune diseases that made my body and bones hurt and my muscles weak and took away my ability to walk last year, dysautonomia, heart problems, fainting, etc etc. Doctors and even most of my own family never took me seriously until last year. My mother held me in the dark every night last year as we cried ourselves to sleep thinking it was the end for me. I met my boyfriend January of this year and loves me through all my health complications, and believes me. Sending so much love and light to you Ashley. I’ve grown up listening to you and growing with you and I am just…so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished and overcome. And I’m so sorry. Stay strong. Suffering from leukemia, lupus, EDS, mcas, endometriosis, and probably more we don’t even know about is something I and im sure everyone else cannot wrap their heads around and aren’t nearly as strong as you for fighting. Been stuck with an autoimmune disease since i was 14; the memories of those hospital visits, blood samples and the surgery never felt like leaving. I relapsed twice this year, and I'm so scared I won't make it to my 18th birthday; this song captures basically everything. I'm tried of only pain and suffering, I want something soft for once in my life. Coincidence or not, it's my liver; i still can't make it 100% better.

As a person with chronic illness myself who both feels like a burden to the people around me and is sometimes made to feel like a burden, who has experienced the anger and exhaustion of doctors not listening and people thinking I’m just being dramatic, knowing it’s not the end of the world but feeling like it is or maybe that it should be, this song really hits close to home. It’s both comforting and sad when you have something like this in common with someone, because it’s the last thing you want to or want someone else to relate to, even if it makes you feel less alone.
It has been obvious for years that halsey is an extraordinary writer, but with this track... absolutely broke me on the first listen, I'm swinging between the pain the lyrics brought and absolute awe for this masterpiece

I remember when my doctor uttered those words to me, telling me the one thing I dreaded the most. I told my partner and held my breath, terrified of my world crashing and in turn destroying theirs. But here we are, almost two years later and we're alive, we're in love. We're okay. I pray that everyone find a love as soft and divine as this. A never ending love, even if it feels like your story is over.
This is one of her best songs in my opinion. Its so raw, and emotional. This album is going to hit me where it hurts. I can tell. Just knowing she wrote it while she was sick...it must have taken a lot of strength to do that. I can't wait to hear the rest of the songs on the album. ❤

@@laurengallagher2076 Lauren, all of your feelings - both internal and external - are VALID!! Your hubby chose you as a life partner. He's also your caretaker in times you need it & vice versa - even tho that may look completely different... Just don't compare! :) The best way my family member (who doubles as a caretaker when needed) put it that helped me understand was: if the roles were reversed and YOU were in your husband's position, would you want your partner to feel guilt, shame, or feel like a burden?! Absolutely not!! You would do everything in your power to help them. It can be incredibly difficult from a caretaker standpoint to watch and not always be able to do anything to help/ease the suffering.
I still struggle with guilt of not being able to help out with yard work, play with the pup outside, or even take her out for a few mins on days like today when it's 90°+ as the feels like temp! But my family doesn't WANT me to do those things cuz they know it'll hurt me even more. It's strange how we can be our own worst enemies ... Cuz knowing all of this still doesn't stop the feelings of guilt.
So... This is my super long winded way of saying you are NOT ALONE! You are HEARD! And you are worthy of self-

“At first it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain”. This song resonates with me so heavily. I am 22 now and have been suffering from severe health problems since I was 18. Epilepsy, 4 autoimmune diseases that made my body and bones hurt and my muscles weak and took away my ability to walk last year, dysautonomia, heart problems, fainting, etc etc. Doctors and even most of my own family never took me seriously until last year. My mother held me in the dark every night last year as we cried ourselves to sleep thinking it was the end for me. I met my boyfriend January of this year and loves me through all my health complications, and believes me. Sending so much love and light to you Ashley. I’ve grown up listening to you and growing with you and I am just…so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished and overcome. And I’m so sorry. Stay strong. Suffering from leukemia, lupus, EDS, mcas, endometriosis, and probably more we don’t even know about is something I and im sure everyone else cannot wrap their heads around and aren’t nearly as strong as you for fighting. Been stuck with an autoimmune disease since i was 14; the memories of those hospital visits, blood samples and the surgery never felt like leaving. I relapsed twice this year, and I'm so scared I won't make it to my 18th birthday; this song captures basically everything. I'm tried of only pain and suffering, I want something soft for once in my life. Coincidence or not, it's my liver; i still can't make it 100% better.
