The books great. Bong said he wanted to make it a lot crazier. The books title is Mickey 7, but he said he wanted to kill Mickey 10 more times. Also Mickey 8 is pretty normal in the book, but Bong said Mickey 18 in the movie is crazier because of a malfunction and increased libido.
I personally thought Mickey was kind of insufferable in the book (Ch. 4 SPOILER: he bets on his friend to lose a tournament, then gets mad at his friend for winning and blames him for his financial situation; like wtf dude? take some responsibility...also he just did the 4th wall breaking too much and wasn't funny enough to pull it off imo). BUT Robert Pattinson has the kind of charisma that can actually make Mickey work, and also Bong Joon Ho is always great. So even as someone who didnt like the book, I'm still looking forward to this!

If I was an actor I wud make the exact same choices as Pattinson has done. He has the most quirkiest yet shrewdest sense of what films to do, the perfect mix of oddball and mainstream.
There are so FEW actors in Hollywood that actually become 'different' characters in the roles they play. So many feel like you are watching them play the same characters in every film.. but Mr Pattison changes not just his remarkably versatile voice..... but also his characteristics, in how he moves, how his face moves.. Its so refreshing to see that. Its so rare.
Man I don't even watch too many movies these days. But this looks good and it's original. Oh and Robert Pattinson is a phenomenal actor. I've only seen two of his movies. But I've seen clips of his other movies on RUclips. And he's arguably the most underrated actor right now. I think The Batman boosted his profile. Before The Batman I only knew him from The Twill saga. I'm not a fan of the Twilight saga. His performance in The Batman made me do some research on him. And this movie continues to show his versatility in his roles. Phenomenal actor!! Much respect to Robert Pattinson.

This is how the trailer cut should be, a glimpse of what's going on but should not be able to understand the entire plot which creates the anticipation. Most trailers nowadays are like mini movies but this one is great 👍
I remember years ago during the Twilight era I bashed Pattinson as an actor, but over this last decade, he has proven himself to have an immense amount of range and has had many spectacular performances. I will absolutely be seeing this in theaters.
It’s amazing how much what I thought was “bad acting” in twilight was just terrible writing and direction. They wrote him so monotone and I hated those movies. I also didn’t take him seriously as an actor at first
Here’s the thing. Twilight opened so many doors for him. Yeah they’re cornball movies but he was laughing all the way to the bank. It put him on the map. And he had the money to be selective about roles. He didn’t have to take just any job to keep a roof over his head. He found cool and challenging parts and worked his butt off and learned and now he’s considered one of the best actors working these days.
This is actually a pretty scary concept. Imagine going on dangerous missions under the idea that, because they can transfer your conscious in a new body, you'll survive. Suddenly death becomes meaningless to you, and you even start to let it happen. Then you learn you had it all wrong. You're not you in a new body, you're just a clone. All those memories you had were different people, with different lives. It begs the question of who you even are anymore. Hope they touch a bit on the psychological horror aspect.
I think it depends on if you have religion or not, and if you believe in a soul. If they can copy your exact body and brain, memories and feelings and everything included. Than it IS you (if you don't believe in souls). The "original" version doesn't really matter, as the other versions are carbon copies. At least that's how I see it. If I found out I was a clone, I don't think I'd be bothered by it. Whose the say the thing I'm a clone of wasn't a clone as well? If it's a 1-to-1 clone, I'd be cool with it.
@@aprophetofrng9821 Thankfully the book avoids going into concepts like the soul which always end up in cheap philosophy that goes nowhere and focus on more practical issues. It's going to be a good movie. The book is light and very entertaining with a few good ideas.

I was expecting something dark, not going to lie. But then again, it is Bong Joon-Ho.. The man exudes quality and I am sure this movie won’t be any different.
Fun fact, in an interview with the author of the book, he said that the talk of a movie started two years before he finished the book, from it getting picked up, to this day, he doesn’t know how his manager done it, but he got two theories first one that his manager got something on someone on Hollywood, and the second is he used witchcraft

Man I don't even watch too many movies these days. But this looks good and it's original. Oh and Robert Pattinson is a phenomenal actor. I've only seen two of his movies. But I've seen clips of his other movies on RUclips. And he's arguably the most underrated actor right now. I think The Batman boosted his profile. Before The Batman I only knew him from The Twill saga. I'm not a fan of the Twilight saga. His performance in The Batman made me do some research on him. And this movie continues to show his versatility in his roles. Phenomenal actor!! Much respect to Robert Pattinson.

This is how the trailer cut should be, a glimpse of what's going on but should not be able to understand the entire plot which creates the anticipation. Most trailers nowadays are like mini movies but this one is great 👍

I remember years ago during the Twilight era I bashed Pattinson as an actor, but over this last decade, he has proven himself to have an immense amount of range and has had many spectacular performances. I will absolutely be seeing this in theaters.
It’s amazing how much what I thought was “bad acting” in twilight was just terrible writing and direction. They wrote him so monotone and I hated those movies. I also didn’t take him seriously as an actor at first
Here’s the thing. Twilight opened so many doors for him. Yeah they’re cornball movies but he was laughing all the way to the bank. It put him on the map. And he had the money to be selective about roles. He didn’t have to take just any job to keep a roof over his head. He found cool and challenging parts and worked his butt off and learned and now he’s considered one of the best actors working these days.
This is actually a pretty scary concept. Imagine going on dangerous missions under the idea that, because they can transfer your conscious in a new body, you'll survive. Suddenly death becomes meaningless to you, and you even start to let it happen. Then you learn you had it all wrong. You're not you in a new body, you're just a clone. All those memories you had were different people, with different lives. It begs the question of who you even are anymore. Hope they touch a bit on the psychological horror aspect.
I think it depends on if you have religion or not, and if you believe in a soul. If they can copy your exact body and brain, memories and feelings and everything included. Than it IS you (if you don't believe in souls). The "original" version doesn't really matter, as the other versions are carbon copies. At least that's how I see it. If I found out I was a clone, I don't think I'd be bothered by it. Whose the say the thing I'm a clone of wasn't a clone as well? If it's a 1-to-1 clone, I'd be cool with it.
@@aprophetofrng9821 Thankfully the book avoids going into concepts like the soul which always end up in cheap philosophy that goes nowhere and focus on more practical issues. It's going to be a good movie. The book is light and very entertaining with a few good ideas.

This is a lot more humorous and comedic than I honestly expected from Bong Joon-ho, quite the shift in tone from Parasite
I mean, the parasite trailer was also pretty light hearted and fun
I was expecting something dark, not going to lie. But then again, it is Bong Joon-Ho.. The man exudes quality and I am sure this movie won’t be any different.
