not in comifornia!!!! Berkshire H. is the only game in town and they don't do 300K BIPD, only 750K...(might as well start running right away w/ 100,000 BIPD and 100K cargo for only about $150 more a month). Now I have to pay another $300 to reapply for DOT # because I wasn't ready to run yet knowing this now!
Can you make a video of the timeline and steps we do after the 90 days? Do we update the insurance first then do the 150 form? How long does it take the 150 form to update with the updated vehicle?
I wish you made this video a few months ago. Our agent didn't inform us about this strategy. Would've saved is a lot of money. We tried to go with you guys but you don't write in Ct...
You can complete an MCS-150 through the FMCSA portal: li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/PKG_REGISTRATION.prc_option or you can call the FMCSA and I think they will help make the edit for you.
Question: I just applied for my Authority two weeks ago , now I want to add my wife to help me driving our truck. What am I supposed to do? Add her to the FMCSA as driver and to the insurance. What else ? Thank you Appreciate your help
Hi, I found your content a couple days ago and love it, I just applied for MC authority today. I have a Class B CDL - would you recommend getting a heavier duty truck (33k/55k GVWR) for more potential loads, or just go with 26k for less fuel and wear and tear?
Class B is any single vehicle 26,001 lbs or more so why not? Whatever is the heaviest a single vehicle can weigh provided it has enough axles and the tires can cover the load then you can drive it. Class A only needed for combination vehicles.
hello thanks for the helpful videos! im having an issue, when trying to update the mcs 150 there is not an option to change the weight class i had it over 10,000 and im trying to change it for the non commercial
@@TruckInsurance Any additional info on this question? Really enjoyed the video, but I'm also confused. I understand that brokers count your age based on the date of your MC's activation. If I'm unable to activate with a $300,000 policy what am I actually aging here?
Approximately what type of discount are we looking at - 10% / 40% / 80% ? In other words, is it a token, good or substantial discount before one files with the correct vehicle later?
Great info!! Wish I saw this before I completed my MC form. Is it true that you’ll have to go back and pay the difference in down payment when you switch vehicles and coverages??
How about starting up with Amazon relay to gain experience than move on to the brokers that require 90 days of experience. I hope Amazon doesn’t require experience
have you tried it? this is quite interesting. So the truck will be running under company A but is insured under company B. So for the insurance company does not care what company does it run under as long as it is paid, and the driver is right?
My question is I put my interstate authority on hold in 2019 I changed it to intrastate authority so I wouldn't have the audit Inspection requirements while not operating, can I cook my authority while on intrastate authority??
Thanks for the info. I do have a question. I filed an LLC with me and the wife as owners. Do I also need to add her as contact # 2 and put her down as an owner on the mc authority app? She's not a driver, she will be helping with dispatching.
Hiii ! I have a quick question please! Can I get insurance for MY authority in someone else’s name ? If that makes sense . My MVR IS BAD but my boyfriend mvr is great . The authority is in my name , can we get insurance for the authority in his name ?
I already have a business llc but want to add a trucking business as a dba. Is this a good idea or should I start a separate llc for the trucking business?
Exactly what I'm looking for ! I'll be calling ya'll... thank you

Do regular insurance companies not do it? Like Geico. Does it have to be a commercial insurance?
Definitely going to get with you on doing this method
Please do!

I needed this info before the 15 of July 🤦🏾♀️ my authority went active and I can’t find a rental anywhere
My apologies! Have you found a truck?
Can someone in NY hire you to do all the paper work and ins etc?
We handle the insurance side of things. Unfortunately i don't have anyone to refer you to in NY.
damn wish I seen this yesterday
Ooh man!
Thank you
You're welcome
Quick question, will a personal policy for 300k split work in Illinois?
Very good.
I try
I can’t find the one where you talk about building business credit
We have not talked about building business credit very much, fuel cards do help though.

Hey man, hopefully we are able to write in CT soon!
Your video are always helpful. How do you change to non commercial under 10k pounds. If you already picked over that.
You can complete an MCS-150 through the FMCSA portal: li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/PKG_REGISTRATION.prc_option or you can call the FMCSA and I think they will help make the edit for you.
Thank you sir. Great info
is your DOT considered to have started the day you file with FMCSA or after you submit them the insurance info and get your MC authority?
After it goes active. Which is after the initial 21 day waiting period assuming you have completed insurance and BOC-3 by then.
Is this still applicable now in 2024?
But when u get audited for The show BOL would it be a problem that you didn’t take any loads for 90 days while your authority is active
No.
When am I supposed to do the DOT physical?
I am on the 20th day after filing Fmcsa
Just make sure its completed before you get on the road.
Question: I just applied for my Authority two weeks ago , now I want to add my wife to help me driving our truck. What am I supposed to do?
Add her to the FMCSA as driver and to the insurance. What else ? Thank you
Appreciate your help
You can go ahead and update your FMCSA authority to show a second driver. Then add your wife as a driver on the insurance policy.

@@TruckInsurance ultimately purchase. I plan on renting to start, to get my feet wet and make sure I want to go all in
Can you drive those size trucks with a class b? I always thought you couldn’t.

non-cmv's option is not on mcs-150 ...
Yep, you've got to call the FMCSA: 800-832-5660, option 1
@@TruckInsurance Its not option 1, can you please explain how to update this after authority is already active. It would be very much appreciated!

It doesn’t. But there ARE some who say that it’s not a guarantee that you will find the routes ideal for you.
This is perfectly fine to do.

The MVR of the owner does not matter, only the drivers. The authority must be in the business owners name.
When you need to have insurance for $300,000, does your agent have to send any filing to fmcsa?
Yes, they file it the same way they would if your limit was 750,000 or 1,000,000.
Great content tho appreciate it
Thank you!
