35,000 faultless miles on my 2021 GSA, brilliant bike. I’ve just ordered the new GS 1300 adv. like it or not, the GS 1300 is the top selling adv bike and the GSA 1300 will sell like hot cakes when it’s launched. This is change, it’s been the same with cars. You start off saying ‘ don’t like the look of that ‘ … a year down the line and old faithful in the garage is looking dated and your little neurons in your brain have started to process all the positives of the newer model. You said ‘ this will be the big one, the Rhino ‘….. well the new GSA is a utilitarian battle tank in looks and I’m going to black it all out as I have with my current bike. A few kilos here and there won’t matter as most of us need to lose some kilos ourselves 😂
Had a 1250GSA, traded it in for a 1300GS. Only to sell the 1300 and buy a 1250GSA again after 3 weeks. The 1300 is a great bike, but not a GS. I don't agree with FIKA often but the 1200/1250 will go down as legendary indeed. The 1300 will go down as just another sportstourer.
I ran and bought the last 1250 GS Rallye when I saw the 1300! Came home and told my wife “this is the bike that will be here for ever!”. 😅 That was just a few months ago… However, now, 8.000 kms later, having suffered the clunkiness of this horrible gear box, and having tried ASA, I am sold on the platform. Last week I saw the 1300 GSA in person and it was love at first sight! I absolutely love the design of it and have decided I will be changing soon. Still trying to figure out though what to tell the wife this time!
I laugh like crazy watching your videos ... so damn funny! Anyways, the TWO reasons I purchased my Tiger 1200 over the GS is: Had two final drive failures on my older BMW. The Triumph uses a double sided swingarm to properly support the final drive. I do not worry the damn FD is going to crap out on me miles and miles from home. I did like the 1200 boxer, but where the hell am I supposed to put my feet to stretch out. Highway pegs on a boxer? With the Triumph, I am able to stretch out with ease, no contortions. BMW can blow for all I care. Ned, SC, USA
@@LMO169 So you have your legs splayed out to the side, outboard the cylinder heads? Or do you rest on top of the cylinders? This 'ol boy does not bend like that anymore!
You know what. The GS was my 3rd choice and I signed up for a Multistrada v4 rally and Tiger 1200 rally explorer. How I ended up with the 1250 GS is a story for the future
Not only did we (England) get beaten in the Euros, our weather has been monumentally shit (even for the UK) for the past two summers. Just set off for a camping trip in Scotland on the mighty R1250 GSA, only to nope the fuck out three hours into the journey when torrential rain soaked through my textile suit and high winds were blowing me about the road. Rain was coming through the vents on my helmet! I got up at 2am for this! Think i'll just spend my day getting shitfaced in my garage, and stroking my cardan shaft instead. Great presenting style by the way. Fresh and different 👍
I know at least one who part exchanged his 1300gs for the last of the 1250gsa's, I too won't be parting with my 1250gsa if I had money spare would definitely buy the last of the 1250gsa.
On my third GS ready for a good compromise because they're too expensive now, going for a Suzuki 1050 Vstrom it's got all the toys minus shaft. But a Scottoiler will sort that
LMAO just saw a drag race between the 1250 and 1300. Exactly the same speed. I think the 1250 has a little (very little) advantage over the 1200 LC, and that's it. They are all amazing but they are the same bike. The 1300 has 10x the restrictions and regulations than the 1200, and still has about the same speed. That's why it sucks, like modern sportbikes compared to old. I guess that's the problem with Rayguns, she was great but she's learned Euro6 breakdance.
Why did you find it crap? Isn't it more powerful, smoother and better handling? I had a 1250GS and found it lacking in character. I'm hesitating between the 1300 and the Guzzi Mandello V100s
@@thefika Not sure but will see what happens. Is the front and rear on the 1300 GS suppose to pogo up and down? A youtuber has videos showing his is and claims that is a big problem? I can see the rear but the front on my 1250 is stiff as a board and no diving at all?
@@adv_addict both of my bikes have been the standard GS with ESA. My 2016 with Sachs shocks had 4 levels of preload an 3 damping settings. My 2022 with ZF shocks has 1 usable preload setting (auto) with the min and max settings being too extreme, and 2 damping settings. The 22 Enduro modes only have 1 damping setting with a significant difference off road between the two bikes. The electronic damping valve on the older suspension had a higher quality coil arrangement with a faster response time. I have three sources: The Beemer Shop, my dealer, and my ass. BMW addressed the suspension on the 1300 but I rode one off road, and while it is much better than my 1250 the rebound damping is still lacking IMO. Big Rock Moto has mentioned the same observation.
I absolutely despise the 1300. I'd go for the 1250 in a heartbeat but as it's huge money and will probably develop problems a millisecond after its warranty expires, I'll go for a Japanese bike instead. Fuck European bikes. They're all shite to some degree.
Decent video. Have the exact 1250 GSA (same colors! 👍). It’s the perfect adventure bike. I think he’s right, about the 1300. I am not at all tempted to upgrade. I found all the f-bombs a real distraction and they take away from all his work in putting the video together.

So happy with my 2023 R1250GSA Rallye. Incredible motorcycle.
💯 GOAT 🐐
I have the same bike and love it.
I don’t have any issues with it looking ugly and I’m starting to like the look 👀👍

Great video, I am looking at Triumph Tiger 1200 rally explorer. or a low km GSA rally 1250, you can keep the new GSA1300, thanks for sharing. Cheers
I love the Tiger 1200 and you can get it a song atm
Unfortunately every time I see a photo of the R1300GSA all I see is the slab of a gas tank that looks like a BMW key fob !!

1250 GSA all the way no AMMO CAN with wheels for me.

If bmw follow what they did with the 1300gs, we are screwed. I hope not!
