As a GSA owner I think the best thing to happen to the Adventure and the *real* reason to upgrade is the ASA option. By all early accounts they got it right. The GSA is such an easy, pleasurable long distance bike, except in certain scenarios, for instance, when you're fully loaded with 40kg of luggage, have a nearly-full tank and are stuck doing 5 mph on a steep incline in the Alps behind a column of cars because some tw*t decided to take a relaxed horse and carriage ride up the St. Gotthard pass. In a stop-and-go situation that you can't easily filter out of this "easy" 300+kg bike suddenly demands all your focus, clutch, throttle, and rear brake skills just to keep the bike upright and moving. Unnecessary stress even at my height of 6ft 2. I imagine ASA will make heavily-laden slow-speed scenarios of stop and go traffic so much less annoying, and let's face it the gearbox on the GS has always been rough, so I say good riddance. This tech should make those 8 hour days in the saddle more relaxing, which is the whole point of the GSA, and I suspect most of the target audience for this bike would agree. That said, I'll always have a manual gearbox on my naked where the focus of the ride is more the bike, less the scenery.
Ya know the more I see this new version, the more I am convinced that BMW could not have created a more undesirable version of the most desirable model in history. This will go down in history.

Nice bike, love it. But not for me, I have had two GSA’s and they don’t last great tourers, but not fizzy enough. My S XR tours all day then gets giddy when it takes my fancy.
Our we so shallow that we worry about our last year bike looking slightly outdated being a big reason to buying the newest model. Maybe it's this bike but doesn't the motor sounds like it is about to self destruct? I'm not sure anyone will look back at this model when walking away.
Being vertically challenged I really like the automatic lowering feature , got fed up seeing shorties like me with high heels 😂😂😂😂😂 could we have reverse please 🙏 😊👍👍👍
I've chopped in my 1300 for the gsa, the 13 feels quite sporty after having the 1250 gs and gsa. Not as sporty as the big Ktm but much closer than the 1250. I do find the 1300 a bit cramped tbh so how's the leg room ?
Id buy a 150hp v twin with modern suspension etc, but with minimum electronics to keep the costs down. Also, keep the clutch to keep the price down (plus went the auto does break its not a £1000 job to fix)
The point about the warranty is spot on! it’s a real shame BMW can’t make a reliable bike, particularly given what they cost! it’s why I chopped mine in for a v4s
How come the looks of the 1300 adventure are so vastly different from the recently released r1300gs? The new 1300GS is sleek and modern but this Adventure is just bulky and weird looking.
I have been the same, Had a gs for 10 years currently on the same trophy but the new bike won’t be getting bought, The buttons are sht the layout and this little faf button for the screen seats etc is rubbish. The rear pannier bracket is an expensive bill waiting to happen. The looks are imo worse than the old one which is the fugliest bike i’ve owned. The quickshifter is still garbage and the engine chaps like my old ford orion . For a “premium brand” like bmw you would think ze engineerz could come up with something a tad better than that.

I have been waiting for this video since 1987 😮🎉
Nice real world review mate
Great video! When will the ASA version video drop? Ty🙂
tomorrow!

Nice bike, love it. But not for me, I have had two GSA’s and they don’t last great tourers, but not fizzy enough. My S XR tours all day then gets giddy when it takes my fancy.
Are you guys not using the hero 7 anymore ?
Agree on the radar shite. Excellent in road works but very dangerous in everyday riding/driving conditions technology’s not quite there yet.
When does the auto video come out?
how does the motor sound at tickover? sounds rattly to me? your bike sounded better man
Very nice bike but that pannier rack looks crap. Still got a 14 plate GSA which I still love and I could never afford a new one lol.
Why is it you're all of a sudden going to Vines, Guildford instead of Bahnstormers, Alton - which is miles closer to your hood?
All you need to know is that I'd rather do a 50 mile round trip to Vines - than a 1 mile round trip to the other one. Says it all.
@@FortyFourTeeth Oh. Blimey. Ok then..
@@HedgeCCLhe mentioned on his walking channel that their after sales was crap on one of the GS’s he bought
@@5tevieb954 Oh. I didn’t know that, fair enough.
Our we so shallow that we worry about our last year bike looking slightly outdated being a big reason to buying the newest model. Maybe it's this bike but doesn't the motor sounds like it is about to self destruct?
I'm not sure anyone will look back at this model when walking away.
So BvG - your 1200GSA vs 1250GSA vs 1300GSA? Verdict for the best one?
Being vertically challenged I really like the automatic lowering feature , got fed up seeing shorties like me with high heels 😂😂😂😂😂 could we have reverse please 🙏 😊👍👍👍
Cannot wait for my TB GSA ASA -due mid November allegedly 🙂
Is that a rectal examination? Hope it goes well. 👍
@@mv4ago 🤣🤣
seems like you enjoyed the multistrada much more
The only real world issue is that the controls aren't back-lit, it's not a deal breaker but for the $$$ spent, that's a real world solution.
Des roues dorées sur un triple black ! Quelle idée étrange !!
Mais j aime beaucoup le modèle à part ça
And the cost of a well spect up one .... .. ?
I've chopped in my 1300 for the gsa, the 13 feels quite sporty after having the 1250 gs and gsa. Not as sporty as the big Ktm but much closer than the 1250. I do find the 1300 a bit cramped tbh so how's the leg room ?
i totally understand this - yes, the leg room is superior to my 1250 GSA
All the GS people who are hating on the new one will be riding the new one next year guaranteed. You're right. The old one looks dated.
I wont. It looks shit no matter how well it goes.
People don't buy GSAs for their looks. Why isn't this understood?
@@GPR111 you will.
agree.........
@@WestCoastVisitori have gsa rallye i think its gorgeous
Mine comes next week 👍🏼
Id buy a 150hp v twin with modern suspension etc, but with minimum electronics to keep the costs down. Also, keep the clutch to keep the price down (plus went the auto does break its not a £1000 job to fix)
What brand is your jacket 👍
RST ❤
I’m ok with the design except for the beak…it’s too squared off. Maybe the aftermarket will notice at some point and fix it.
The speed limits around Newlands Corner and Shere are utterly infuriating!
The point about the warranty is spot on! it’s a real shame BMW can’t make a reliable bike, particularly given what they cost! it’s why I chopped mine in for a v4s
It was so much fun before they put them up
I don’t think the mrs would appreciate me bringing one home so I guess I’ll just have to move out, or stick with my tiger 800 🤔
BMW has launched again the new 1250 into dealers??before jouno's?
i meant 1300
@@FortyFourTeeth All good.
Not sure how ya'll deal with constantly being behind cars. Too bad you're based in the city. Especially the average speed cameras. That's wild.
Bought my 1300GS from James & Peter at Vines back in July, fantastic service!
Baron Von Grumble rides again..💨
Great review but il stick with my Honda V4 1200x DCT crosstourer.
It looks like a damn dorm fridge. Screw that dorm fridge bike.
