"They buried the body of Felagund upon the hill-top of his own isle, and it was clean again; and the green grave of Finrod Finarfin’s son, fairest of all the princes of the Elves, remained inviolate, until the land was changed and broken, and foundered under destroying seas. But Finrod walks with Finarfin his father beneath the trees in Eldamar." -The Silmarillion
"I go now to my long rest in the timeless halls beyond the seas and the Mountains of Aman. It will be long ere I am seen among the Noldor again; and it may be that we shall not meet a second time in death or life, for the fates of our kindreds are apart. Yet perchance even that sorrow shall in the end be healed. Farewell!" Finrod says here to Beren that maybe one day, when the world is remade, Elves and Men will be reunited.
You can tell something’s OFF about her “brother”-idk what it is, but you can just TELL. I think its the way he speaks? Or the way he holds himself? His face? Just….amazing acting.
Sauron did actually start out wanting to heal Middle Earth, and after Morgoth's fall he temporarily repented (out of fear, but still). But he was told to go to Valinor for judgment. He stayed in Middle Earth. We don't know what happened, but 500 years later, he reappeared, back to the old Sauron. The show takes the route that he wanted to heal Middle Earth from Morgoth's destruction. In this way it shows what he was like originally. And it compresses timelines, of course, but any Second Age show had to do that anyway, when you put immortal and mortal beings together in events covering millennia.
He created two, Quenya and Sindarin. Sindarin is what we hear in LOTR. Unsurprisingly, Tolkien was a polyglot. He was fluent in ten languages and had a decent understanding of perhaps five more, or...more. The true number is unknown.
Research it more, he disguised himself as the "bringer of gifts" in the book. I forget the name he used in the book but they didn't use it in the show iirc. In Deep Geek has really good lore videos!!!
it began with the forging of the great films. threads were given by tolkien, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. rights were granted to jackson, great miner and craftsman of the mountain of lore. and nine, nine hours were gifted to the race of men, who above all else, desire quality. but they were all of them deceived, for another show was made; in the land of amazon, in the fires of mount prime, the dark lord bezos forged in secret a master flop. and into this show he poured his money, his greed and his will to dominate all film. one show to ruin them all. one by one, the fans of lord of the rings were hatred to the power of this show. but there was some, who resisted; a last alliance of warner bros. and hbo marched against the armies of amazon, and on the slopes of mount prime, they fought for freedom of tolkien
The script writing is just poor for most of this show. It just shows in the all the little anachronisms that creep into the dialogue. "Like your fellow elves are doing" no character in Tolkien talks like that.
Grasping at straws. Dialogue like that is fine. No one in Tolkien says “let’s hunt some orc” but movie Aragorn says it. If the movies or the show tried to use Tolkien’s words specifically, then nothing will feel natural. Tolkien’s words are made for the paper, not the screen.
I dont like this show, but ill give it to the guy who played her brother, sometimes greatness has to dig through shit. Very well done, and very unsettling, I have no other compliments for this show.
Come back to me....Galadriel....LOOOKATMEEEEE

Exactly, it feels so wrong, you just sense something sinister is there, amazing acting!!
Will Fletcher is a great actor.
His eyes.... almost unblinking, too wide and curious like. He also seems to be smirking as well. The Actor did a amazing job
I read somewhere they allegedly put Sauron's actor's eyes over Finrod's actors eyes, so it is Finrod's face but Halbrand's eyes.

He stayed to avoid punishment, but fair enough.

He sounds like the personification of imperialism...
Where did you find that out?
@@conscientiousobjector5988 Makes you wonder what Sauron was like as a kid at school...
I REALLY wish the peter jackson music could have been used here...can ya just imagine the horror of mordor's theme slowly playing and building.
Tolkien actually created his own language for his world. Or at least a partial language. It's interesting to hear it pronounced correctly
He created two, Quenya and Sindarin. Sindarin is what we hear in LOTR.
Unsurprisingly, Tolkien was a polyglot. He was fluent in ten languages and had a decent understanding of perhaps five more, or...more. The true number is unknown.
Apparently he invented several languages first, then started to produce his stories to fit around them
id be damned if i made a whole language for a book and people make a show that looks like it was made in another language lmao
@@ReapxrMusic He was a philologist and enjoyed inventing languages
@@ReapxrMusic he made a book for a language. not the other way around
This was a really good scene. You have to go at this knowing that everything Sauron said is a lie. It makes things make more sense.

Extremly Underrated comment
This series is so underrated merely because Amazon created it
no cause its ass
It's awful television, bad soap-opera level writing and even worse acting from "Galadriel"
@@casualcausalityy You are of course entitled to your opinion out of curiosity did you watch the whole series ?

This show is so good! The acting in this scene is just incredible 🩷
Did sauron want her to be his queen was he in love with her or something?
The show wasn’t great but this scene was at least pretty good
Agreed, I keep rewatching it
Eru , he didn't even fight in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad or was killed there,he died at the hands or jaws of a werewolf
The same way he does in the show. Do you not see the werewolf claws on his side?
Sauron in the form of a werewolf. He is personally responsible for Finrod’s death. Finrod died defending Beren.
Tolkien knew what he was writing. This drivel however... I hate what they did, it's just such a mess.
