@@NinaC so true! I love the fact that the new writers actually did attempt to do some repair work on some of the characters and actually gave them more depth. Ngl I legit love the dwarf arc of the show in season 2.

Elrond is a great half-elf. He carefully reasons ton the deceitfulness of Sauron before resisting him.

Technically, he should be, at least for the Sindar, since he is the only direct descendant from Thingol still alive. But I think he's been spending centuries carefully refusing any inheritance, given the very high mortality rate of the job.
Oh boy Elrond was brutal this season... I simultaneously loved and hated seeing him at odds with Galadriel

Rereading the Fellowship of the Ring. THIS time I felt VERY moved that the whole first 3rd of the book is Aragorn and the Hobbits trying to get to Elrond and safety. Elrond was very abstract to me when I read the books and barely paid attention to him in the PJ movies. Now I have Elrond in my heart. Yes, let’s get to Elrond and Healing and Safety.

@@Loki-g3k Yes, but they were failing and Sauron would have destroyed them long ago if they couldn’t hide from him using the rings. Lothlorian, the Grey Havens and Rivendell were havens protected by the rings. Frodo would never have made it without Galadriel and Elrond and their rings.

@@kathryncainmadsen5850 You do know that Galadriel is Elrond’s mother in law in the books right? That’s why a lot of Tolkien fans are laughing. And I will give season 2 credit, the one thing they actually did legit okay was Sauron. This season wasn’t torturous to watch like season one, I got some entertainment out of it.

Master Elrond is the one Galadriel came to and gave evidence that Sauron was back and he did not listen to her! The audience loved Sauron and actually wanted Galadriel and Sauron to be romantically involved.
When he promised her to be mindful of her actions when she came jumped off the ship in season 1 to trust her more, here he is forsaking it.

Is strange to see your point of view, The voice of reason and timing because timing is key for everything and Elrond spotted things timely and wisely
And yet he failed consistently so far.
Maybe that's why Cirdan adviced him to not leave Galadriel alone and respect Gil-Galad desicion.

Elrond became the audience self insert. Him constantly hitting the arrogant and abrasive Galadriel with facts is something in this show I can actually tolerate. I can imagine how angry Galadriel is going to be when he starts romancing her daughter lol.

I can't believe that Rings of power, house of the dragon and all the star wars shows are what draws the most criticism on streaming platform.These are insanely good shows but after every episode comes the flack. It's covers everything and scare investors away from forking out hundreds of millions to produce more. What can result from such complaining I wonder. Actually I don't because I know it leads to less new series less new movies. I wouldn't put my money on a sequel if the first one was trashed by the media. I pray that the proverb ( you criticise what you love) is true.
ROP season 2 is good so far though and I did enjoy HOTD season 2 from ep 1-6 😂 Havent seen The Acolyte so cant comment on that. Even though Manny Jacinto seems to be doing a great job it just isnt interesting to me.
