  • In this video, I'm going to teach you HOW to WATER YOUR GRASS in the Summer. In the Summertime, all grass types (Cool Season Grass and Warm Season Grass) need watering in the summer months. Warm Season Grasses (Bermuda grass) tend to thrive, spread in the heat. But Cool Season Lawns will slow down in top/root growth in the heat. Especially when the temperatures are consistently over 85 degrees. When this happens, Cool Season Grasses will go into dormancy (turning brown). Most people think that they're grass is dead but it just in defense mode protecting itself. So watering is key in the summer months inorder to keep your grass green. Grass needs atleast 1 inch of water per week to survive the summer heat. In this video, I show you how to achieve that 1 inch mark and what tools that you'll need to use. I hope this video helps you in your journey towards keeping your lawn green in the summer. Thanks for watching.
    God Bless,

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes. So I have 1 sprinkler for my test plot, 1 for my backyard and 1 foe my front. They all get watered on separate days. The one in my backyard doesn't get 1 hr. It only gets 30 mins because it's a very small area.

      @@PoloFieldsLawnService I have a lot of square footage of lawn. I have to move the sprinkler 2 times to cover my lawn on the left side of my house and three times on the right. I’m getting so tired of moving them that I want a sprinkler system but they’re expensive to be professionally installed.

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  3 месяца назад +1

      @garryrobinson5695 They surely are. That is definitely an investment, but this is the only option. I have a client who water's 30,000 sqft, so I know what you mean when you say that you have to move sprinklers. He has the ones on the tripod, though, so they do shoot out a little further than a normal one

  • @comingforyou3104
    @comingforyou3104 2 года назад +1

    Yup it's a calculation 🧮 if the person who doesn't know about lawns is left in charge the grass will start looking dormant and yellow.. cause it doesn't get the inch of water it needs nor at the correct time. Timing is important, has to be before daylight 10 minutes before sun break at least to have the water in retention in the grass for the day...

    Why wouldn't you just use the same things you use to measure the output from your sprinkler to measure rainfall? Seems silly to have both.

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  2 года назад +2

      If you use the sprinkler gauge for an all day rain, it can only hold 1 1/2 inches of water vs using a rain gauge which can hold more than 3 inches. My rain gauge can hold 8 inches of water. You might get 3, 4, 5 inches of rain from a good storm. You won't be able to measure that with the sprinkler gauge as it only holds up to 1 1/2 inches of water. The sprinkler gauge is only used to measure water from your sprinkler, not from the rain. Hope this helps EvanP 🙏🏾
