    Can grubs and fungus cause similar issues?

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService 17 часов назад

      Yes and No. Here is how it works. Grubs and fungus will cause brown spots. When it's grub damage, you can pull the dead grass right up out of the ground. When it's fungus, you'll see mycelium or spots on the grass blades. Depending on the fungus, brown spots will be in circle shapes or irregular patterns. You won't be able to pull the grass up like if it is grub damage.

    How often? Greenville SC 4-5 days a week during hot hot hot days?

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService День назад

      Hello Eli, I only water 2 days a week. Tuesday and Saturday. Shorter days, longer watering times. It takes my sprinkler 1 hr to get 1/2 inch of water on my front lawn. 1 inch of water is a good threshold. If this is too much water and too much on your water bill, any water will help the lawn from going into dormancy

    5:06 Greetings Brother I like your idea of using both fungicides (propiconazole and azoxystrobin) in the same application. I know to read the label ☺I certainly will and plan to order some measuring cups to apply the correct amounts. But I want to clarify if you halve the dosage since you are applying both fungicides? Say the label says to use 1 oz propiconazole, would you use 0.5 oz since you are applying azoxystrobin as well❓ Or do you give the fungi the full fury of full doses on the label, from each fungicide? Thank you Brother, I love your logo ✝

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService День назад

      Whenever you are dealing with any chemicals, always use what the label suggests. Never do half rates if the label doesn't suggest it. So, in this situation, if you are mixing 2 fungicides to prevent a fungus, go down with the preventative rate. But always do a jar test first before you mix anything in a large pump sprayer or backpack sprayer. It's best to know if these chemicals can mix together in a small container with water vs. if you made a large batch and they didn't mix together. I hope this helps. Thank you, and God bless 🙌🏾

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService 2 дня назад

      Hello Mindy, either use a tarp to collect the clippings BEFORE you trim your shrubs or if you have already trimmed them, water the mulch with your water hose really good. This will make the mulch on the top heavy. After doing this, blow the trimming in the grass by using the circle method and mulch or bag the clippings up with your mower. Hope this helps 🙏🏾

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService 2 дня назад

      This is something that you'll have to watch and manage. If your lawn is turning brown from the heat, do what you can when it comes to watering. Find a medium and stick with it. 1 inch if water per week is good for the lawn, but if you can't do 1 inch, do less than that. Of course, when it rains, having a rain gauge to know how much water you receive is crucial because that will let you know how much watering you'll need to aim towards for the week.

    Nice video. I guess I'm wondering why you didn't remove the grass after you cut the ring. I would think that if you put grass killer down there, it'd not be great, or even kill the tree, no?

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService 3 дня назад

      As long as the non-selective herbicide gets on the grass blades and not the tree, everything will be fine. My intention was to spray the grass around the tree and nit spray the tree. This will eliminate the grass all the way down to the root, and the mulch will keep it from getting sunlight so that no grass will grow in the future.

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService

      1 inch of water a week is good enough. 2 inches of water a week will have your water bill sky high. When you water your grass, water it early in the mornings, preferably before 10 am. Also, there's ni need to water your grass every day. It needs a little time to dry out. I water mine 2 days a week. So if we don't receive any rain, I'll water it on Tuesday mornings and Saturday mornings.

Terrible brown patch and big patch were treated just over a week ago. 1 application of granular to just the specific brown patch and then a follow up a week later to the entire lawn. I only assume the patches look worse now because it is dying off and will decompose? I know it not good to add nitrogen in summer, but am I going to see dead grass through the rest of the year? I know how to maintain it now, but is there anything I can use in the heat of summer to jump start new growth? Thanks very much! I owe ya!

      You need seed to soil contact for the seed to grow. Now, eventually, if seed is on top of Peat moss and the moss is getting watered, it will eventually make its way down to the soil, but the seed needs to have contact with the soil so it can start establishing a root

    Nice video Polo! Just wanted to share my rookie mistake. I always found myself running out of product or using more than the recommended spreader rate. 🤔 This can be contributed to a few different factors such as walking speed or incorrect calibration of spreader. In my case, I realized that I was making my paths right next to my previous path instead of ensuring I was spaced further out and throwing product back to the previous tire. That’s a great tip. Thanks for sharing! I’ve been learning a lot.
