I’ve run sprinklers similar to these for years. Never paid attention to the screw and what it does for the water distribution 😐. Thanks for the tip! Loving your videos.
If I didn't have an in ground irrigation system, I'd be using something similar. I built a couple of sprinkler using PVC and Hunter sprinkler heads for my parents lawn. These type of sprinklers using irrigation heads or spray nozzles are much better suited to cover more distances for the yard and you can change the nozzle to fit the size lawn.
@@PoloFieldsLawnService You won't do too much damage to install the system. Just get a machine to do the trenching work. It will be worth the little bit of damage. Based on what I see, you would have the lawn back to normal in no time. I installed mine in the fall time which gave some recover time and it's going into the winter so the look didn't matter too much. If you let a company do it with the polypipe (funny pipe), the machine would just slice the ground, drop the pipe and cover it with pretty much no sightly damage. The only damage that way will be to your bank account, haha. Do it man, haha.
Yea, I did my own system several years back. Even trenched lines and have some rainbird pop up's. My issue last summer was that $400 dollar water bill, wife ain't having it, LOL. Waiting for some rain tomorrow AM to mix and spray some hydretain, progonzol and azoxystrobin fungicide and just go with twice a week watering to keep that water bill down. I need one of the special water meters just for lawn usage.
😆😆 Gotta monitor that watering. Couple times a week for a green lawn is fine. It's a different story if your lawn has slipped into dormancy and it hasn't rained for weeks. Gotta make a decision, either keep it green or let it go......
Hello Martin, a regular hose will work fine. I've never had a problem with using a long hose. The hose I use to water my test plot is 100 ft and the water pressure is just fine 👍🏾
@@pnkpnthr80 Will do sir, got another one dropping tomorrow. I normally will release a video every Sunday. Well, let's just say that I try my best. Thanks for your Support. It means alot 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hello Quen, it all depends on what type of sprinkler that you have. Some put out more water than others. Your shooting for 1 inch of water per week. For example, if it doesn't rain during the week, I water my lawn on Tuesdays and Saturdays for 50 mins each day in the mornings. That gives me 1 inch of water per week. Hope this helps
I purchased a dual on Tuesday and set it up as you mentioned in the video. It started and went the duration on both ports at the desired time. Then it just started recycling the process over again. I turned the water faucet off. I only wanted 30 minutes on each port and stop for the day. Why didn’t it stop after the first pass?
I think I figured that part out but I found water in the battery case when I removed it. Eventually that is going to cause problems. Also, is there a cover to put the timer in? The sun beams will destroy this gadget.
@@livingmylife24x74 As far as my knowledge, they don't make a cover for the case. I've had mine on my spigot the entire summer and fall and never had any issues each year. If water is leaking from it, check to make sure the component it tighten to the spigot. If it is tighten, make sure the nut behind the handle that turns the water on is tighten as well. Do you still need some assistance on the water timer cycle?
@@PoloFieldsLawnService No I figured it out. I found water in the battery pack when I took it out. Does this device cause pipe issues when it switch from 1 connect to the other? Mine made a rattle, clunky noise when it switched. That’s for responding.

No Problem Mark, that screw really does help vs using the metal flap on the front of the sprinkler. Give it a try next time 👍🏾

Great tips. I got above ground sprinklers and we've had temps between 90-100 for past 2 weeks with no rain and heat stress is really taking over

Hello John, if there is any reduction it's not noticeable. In this video, the hoses are 50ft long and seem to be putting out good water to me 👍🏾
