- Look how ruthless Rock & Roll business can be, how ruthless Sharon & Ozzy are, to took advantage of Jake E Lee former guitar player on two of Ozzy LP (bark at the Moon) & (Ultimate Sin) after the Ultimate sin LP Jake disappeared from the music 15 years & he in a band called Red Dragan Cartel.
& Jake is letting the world know what happen wen he was in Ozzy band.

The man single handedly saved Ozzy's whole career after Randy died. What they did to Jake is unforgivable. "Nothing personal" my ass.

It was totally screwed up. I had seen Jake live with Ozzy about a dozen times and when he was fired it made me sick. He was my number one guitar hero. This was right about the time Tribute was released. It almost seemed like Camp Ozzy wanted to wipe their hands of Jake by reemphasizing Randy's contribution, then replacing him with Zakk. I'm not dogging Zakk, he's a great player, but to fire Jake like that was low class. Yeah, they never had to hire him in the first place. I get that. They made him famous by hiring him. But by firing him they deeply disappointed fans and it sure didn't help Ozzy's music. I think Ozzy would have had even more success if he did one more album and tour with Jake.

@@tonymctony4551 The poppy sensibility of TUS was due to Ron Nevison's production. I think the label wanted to use him for Ozzy because he had just produced Heart's massive 1985 comeback album. So they wanted to turn the keyboards way up and mix the guitar down. Both Ozzy and Jake were unhappy with the album although the sales were great. BATM, although much heavier, still had some stuff going on that Jake didn't like, for instance a lot of the keyboards on "Slow Down" and the strings on "So Tired". Whatever power Sharon wielded in Ozzy, Inc. was dwarfed by the power of the record company. If Jake did one more album with Ozzy it could have been that dream album where all was heavy. I still think BATM and TUS were less poppy than Zakk's work with Ozzy in which even a song like "Bloodbath in Paradise" about the Manson murders sounds poppy. To this day I'm not sure of everything that led to Jake's being fired. I was thirteen when I heard that horrible news that he'd been fired from Ozzy on KNAC in L.A. I was floored. I'd just seen Jake with Ozzy the previous year at Long Beach Arena on TUS tour with Metallic opening. Awesome show. Jake totally shredded for two solid hours. As a kid who wanted to be in the music biz I saw this as a warning, that even your heroes could be fired.

Sadly, I'm not surprised to hear this story. I think more musicians who got screwed by the Osbournes need to come forward and tell their stories. Jake and many other young musicians got taken advantage of back then because they were just eager to play music, didn't have lawyers, didn't fully understand the long-term ramifications of signing such unfair contracts, etc. It's really not their fault. The Osbournes, on the other hand, knew exactly what they were doing.

Honestly Sharron is no different than any other manager during that time. Only a handful of bands or musicians made it out of the 80s with any money.
Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisleys Blizzard of Ozz band made some really great albums. Ozzy was just the (snake in the grass) vocalist in [their] band. After Bark at the Moon, Ultimate Sin, and Jake E. Lees departure, Ozzy and Sharon got their just desserts -- nothing but rubbish music. I laugh now when looking back in hindsight, as Ozzy cried over and over about Tony Iommi tossing him out of Sabbath. Tony had some great intuition, and thus, tossed out the trash. Nice job, Tony!
Jake wrote one of the best riffs in metal and ozzy wont even acknowledge or credit him. ..spiteful people. I also heard they only paid him $400 per week. Just greedy and cruel...period.

Jake E Lee is an awesome guy . There was an interview in a guitar magazine a few years ago and he was very polite talking about Sharon and Ozzy . He never used swear words describing Sharon or Ozzy . No bitterness towards them .

Know I understand why they choose USA guitar players, there are so many talented guitarrists in the US and willing to work for peanuts in exchange of a trampolin to fame, the thing is those poor guys don't know that they will waste all their writting and performance potential in a band that will not even recognize their musical contributions, know I feel more respect than ever for Ozzy's musicians, but not for Ozzy, he is a scammer...
I used to think the same thing but how many times is Ozzy going to get lucky? What are the chances every guitar player he gets they always have great taste and write great music. Ozzy has to be influencing it in some way. I mean countless and countless guitar players and Ozzy never misses it. Many singers have gone off into solo careers and can never get it right.

I heard this on Eddie Trunk's podcast and I just was floored! Sharon Osbourne is EVIL! But you know, as much hate that gets thrown at Sharon, which is deserved, Ozzy deserves to take part of the blame for this. They screwed a young, inexperienced kid over. That's horrible! I have never like and have never had any respect for Sharon but, at the same time, I grew up a massive Ozzy fan. I've lost a TON of respect for him in knowing he had a hand in screwing Jake over.
Did many fans believe Ozzy wrote all the music on his solo stuff or did they just not give a fuck? Even before I heard interviews like this I found it very hard to believe Ozzy wrote music.
Of course no one believes it was Ozzy Osbourne, he just had the vocal melodies he would come up with majority of the time. But without the music, there wouldn’t be any music to sing over. Jake E. Lee is a legend. We already know he had a big hand in writing the music with Bob Daisley. Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake and Jake E. Lee got screwed over, even Randy Rhoads did too, to an extent since he didn’t live long. But there’s stories about it, if he lived, he would’ve been screwed over too. Sad to say but that’s the truth.

Obviously, from my profile photo, Im a huge RR fan. That being said, Jake did a great job of stepping into Randy's vacant shoes. I like his playing and tone FAR more than I do Zakk's. And yes, Sharon has screwed so many people over. She doesnt give a shit.
1. Screwed Bob Daisley, who wrote 95%+ of the lyrics on "Blizzard", "Diary", "BATM", etc. and Lee Kerslake, the drummer on the first two Oz albums, out of royalties that they were both due.
2. Screwed Jake on "BATM."
3. After he was killed, kept selling Randy merchandise at the "Diary" concerts after Ozzy told her not to.
4. Told Bernie Torme, the first guitarist who stepped in for Randy, that he would only be paid $500 a week, after he had been promised 2000 pounds a week. In the end, Ozzy paid him what the original agreement was, gave his a bonus and a Fender Strat.
5. Wouldn't let Randy out of the band, even though he was miserable, and he and Ozzy were not getting along at the time he died.
It just goes on and on. But, if you want to see her get her ass handed to her, type in "ICP vs Sharon Osbourne" on RUclips, and watch those 2 guys tear her apart for 30 minutes. She isnt witty or quick enough to come back with anything. It is funny shit!!! I read every I needed to know about Randy and the band from a good source, Randy’s bud Rudy Sarzo. Randy was getting tired of that life very quickly. He was a shy simple and good kid. He didn’t want to be a rock star or he rich. He was a pure musician at heart, and ozzy even acknowledged that. He thought hated that circus scene Sharon directed: midgets, fake blood, grounded meat etc...
He didn’t like the fact that ozzy was drunk all the time, and life on the roads was also taking its toll.
I still get emotional when I think how unfortunate Randy’s death was.

but theirs plenty of guys who could replicate his stuff. In the 80's you had Malstreem, Lynch, Sykes, Vai, Satriani, Vito Bratta, Warren Demartinni, Vivian Campbell. That's just scratching the surface.

@@allsystemsgo8678 BUT, how long would it have taken to find one of those guys to replicate all of Jake's parts? A week? Two months? Longer? Most of the guys you mentioned were still virtual unknowns in early '83, outside of their core fans. Ozzy hadn't had a studio record out since '81, so I'm sure they were wanting to get "Bark" out ASAP. Holding it up longer could've cost Ozzy even more momentum.
@@JokersWild70 unfortunately it would have been pretty easy and could have been done in a few weeks. George Lynch was known to Ozzy, he almost got the gig but Jake beat him out. Not because he had a better audition, but because he had the look Ozzy and Sharon wanted. Brad Gillis filled in after Randy died (and Bernie Torme didn’t work out) on the Diary of a Madman Tour and learned the songs in a week.
Most of Ozzy’s guitarists were unknown at the time they joined. RR was in Quiet Riot at the time and they weren’t doing anything. Brad Gillis hadn’t really done anything with Night Ranger yet. Jake was in an early version of Ratt and Rough Cutt. It’s not like these were big names at the time. The music world is a small one, everyone seems to know every one and talent can be found.

Hire another guitar player to re-record Jake's guitar parts? Yeah, knowing $haron, she'd have kept Jake's guitar playing but hire someone new and give them credit. Kinda like what they did to Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake, who recorded Diary of a Madman but credited Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge.

I think Daisley was saying that Jake had riffs, but no songs. Then together they wrote the instrumental for the songs. Ozzy would come in and sing melodies with nonsense words and then Bob would come back and write lyrics from Ozzy's melodies.

Seriously... Did anyone honestly ever think that Ozzy wrote those guitar parts? I was a huge fan back when those albums were released and I never even noticed the lack of writing credits for Jake. I just assumed they were there because it was obvious to me that Jake was writing the guitar parts. I always just figured that the band was writing the music and Ozzy was writing the lyrics. Turns out I wasn't even right about that lol. Although it's my understanding thatt, most of the time Ozzy was at least coming up with the melodies, and then relying on Bob to come up with actual lyrics. Obviously a much more diminished role than what I believed back in the day.
I would be fine with knowing all of that, as this is not an uncommon situation. However finding out how Ozzy and Sharon basically just stole these people's art from them is pretty disheartening to hear cuz like I said, I was a huge fan.

Ozzy has always been a joke, same as Sharon. Don't get me wrong, I love the first few records after Sabbath. But the way they treated people to make more and more money is just despicable. And they are equally to blame. Some people say it was all Sharon's doing trying to whitewash their idol but I'm convinced that Ozzy and Sharon agreed to take on their respective roles - he would pose as a clueless rock'n'roll star and she would be the cold business dragon. It's all BS - they planned it from the beginning. If it wasn't for the fact that Randy tragically dies, we would have Randy as another unhappy screwed over guitarist here in interviews telling us for the next 30 years how he got screwed.
We all want Jake to get credit and paid.
As crooked as Sharon Osbourne is, I'd like to know why Bob Daisley continued working with her long after he got screwed over from the Blizzard Of Ozz album. Eddie is right. It's like a kid who accidentally touches a hot stove, burns his hand, but refuses to learn his lesson and keeps touching the stove over and over again. Was he expecting different and better results with future albums? Whatever his reasons are, if I were in his position, I would've written Sharon off as "persona non grata" after the first time she stuck it to me. Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me.

To this day i cant stand both Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. What they did to so many musicians is utterly ruthless and despicable. Thats why never in my life have i supported any of Ozzys music or anything to do with Ozzy. Watching the Osbornes laughing all the way to the bank makes me sick to my core.

After you thought you heard the worst Sharon can be you run into this. The big question to ask is why the artists kept returning to work with them. Ozzy and Sharon are nothing without the writers and players. I guess their association with Sharon and Ozzy was worth them trying to get ahead in their own careers even if they were ripped off. There's a lesson here to learn children.
