Jake says that he didn't realize how much he missed it. I don't think he realized how much we missed him. What an amazing musician. I am so glad he is back in action.
yup i use to talk to him all the time i play as well he use to live in Westchester he use to like my car i had a 1970 pontiac gto at that time he use to say to me lets race lol he had 3 cars that i could see he had a 1969 442 and a 69 stingray and a charger use to see me drive by his house and he would stand in front of my car and talk to me i asked him if he knew how to reed music and he said no nothing. Till this day it stock in my mined how someone could be so good and don't reed music at all
jimi D Cricket I think it's the other way around, Jake was more impressive then Eddie back in the day, I wouldn't say better than Eddie but about the same. They both have their own style, and I'm sure both have influences of other guitarists as well. In my case I'm a guitar player and know what I'm talking about, still prefer Jake E. Lee style, and he has more feeling IMO.
jimi D Cricket Y u so mad cupcake? I said *MORE* *EXCITING* . Not that they were in the same league. Other than Les Paul and Jimi Hendrix nobody's in Eddie's league. Reading is fundamental. Furthermore I've played Guitar since I was 7 years old. My minor was in music. My guitar teacher was Mr Roger Filiberto (GOOGLE him). I've forgotten more about guitar than you will ever know. So who's not very smart?
The Ultimate Sin literally came out the month I started playing guitar when I was twelve, so way back in the spring of '86. Jake became an influence about that time and I was very pissed when Ozzy fired him. I worked my ass of to learn his material. I still don't play it anywhere near as well, but I think striving for it has made me a far better guitarist than I otherwise would have been.
One of the best interviews with JEL. I love the part where he talks about how music is personal and spiritual to him, and that allowing money to influence the music is a dead-end. That attitude is the mark of a real artist. (And yes, Jake, there *are* still many Ozzy-era fans of you.)
+Sheryl Chapman did I say WHY? just being silly..on the new album post..glad Jake is still going even as rough as the last tour was Band member changes and the album didn't do any business.. he must be pumping quite a bit of his own $$ into it but now a days you don't really need a record deal or studio to record..I know he's a PC Wiz and has great home studio equipment..I hope he comes back to Toronto..just plays small clubs..wonder who will be in the Band this time..I love Jake..we play Bark and Ultimate Sin and shot in the dark..loved him since he joined Oz!!!!
+Sheryl Chapman if he does tour..people are still just going to want to hear the same Oz classics eventually Jake even ended up putting more and more of the old stuff he did with Oz..a couple new tunes but really he should do a couple classics but play his new stuff..like or not..that's what he keeps saying..he did in this interview so why go back on your word.. he said he's not living in the 80's..great..and you should progress as a player great and not keep playing the same stuff..yet that's what he's doing..keeps contradicting himself If he's true to his word..play your own new stuff and that's it no old Oz stuff he doesn't care about selling his album or how many people show up at the shows well that part is true and its happening he played in Toronto the same club my band does and many club bands do when I saw him 90% of the set list was old Oz and Bad Lands..which I like great to see him but Jake still sounds rough when he plays I think its because of all the years off and he still drinks way too much on stage..half way thru he was wobbly..sloppy..in a CLUB..a Bar Band sad to see..people were walking out..tickets were only $25.. Im glad he's ok..but I don't think he knows what he wants to do he does care what people think even tho'he keeps saying he just does what he wants and doesn't listen to outside influence..that's so not true or else he would not have replaced the Original Band members and cave in to promoters managers and change the set list stay true to yourself and keep plugging the new stuff.. but he wont..new tour if they do..plus he has other health issues..he's canceled shows because his back was hurting..huh? so what get out there and battle thru it so promoters would be pissed and not book him..I know the business side I think he waited too long and came back with not good music and his playing obviously he didn't keep up with it I want to see him do good..seriously but dude put some real effort into it he's still sloppy and needs to cut the drinking out on stage..for a pro or any Band thats not cool have one or 2 before ya get on ok...but drunk half way thru..come on now..he is living in the 80's still plus its only like an hour of playing.. for me his legacy is being tarnished..to me and obviously many others sorry to say read what made him come back..he was chasing an ice cream truck and fell in a ditch almost broke his ankle and thought I'm not doing anything with my life..read it in one of the Guitar mags when he came back I was excited..and surprised..but when I heard the album and seen the Band wow..he should of kept chasing the truck enjoy life.. that's how I feel.. trust me..he's gonna be playing the same old OZ stuff if they tour and the new album will not do any business because of the last one just the way it is RnR Baby Niki B
I live here in Las Vegas where Jake & several other guitarists reside. I was wondering if any of these guys could guest DeeJay on the local rock radio station playing their favorite tunes and a little history story telling like this.
I would love to see Jake write an autobiography. I think it would be an incredible read and also very inspirational for guitarists and musicians everywhere - in one way or another, he's kept busy and after hearing Red Dragon Cartel's album, he's still got the chops that got him the gig with Ozzy all those years ago. Welcome back Jake, please don't go away again! \m/
Sadly, in 2024, he’s sort of been away for a while again. Badlands was the first rock I ever attended (I was 14) and it just blew me away. Their first album is still one of my favorites in any style.
Great artists NEVER DIE, they just need to re-charge their batteries from time to time, JAKE is a MONSTER Guitar Hero & glad to have him back! That's INDIE POWER!
I totally believe Jake's story about song writing credits that he and Bob Daisley were due and never got . They were ripped ruthlessly by Sharon & Ozzy !
Jake's guitar work is astounding when/if he's in the melodic feel. So much innovation comes out of him when playing melodic. When he's playing in dark or metal style as well... He's amazing...
What a cool guy. Not that I know him, but for all the boxes being checked to being a verifiable guitar hero. Free thinker. Unique tone and style. Straight shooter even if it doesnt help him ( lol), must have been hard navigating that shark pool back in the 80's.
Jake E Lee was one of the biggest influences for me growing up!! He has such a great tone and is just all around a solid guitarist!!! Thanks Jake, for sharing your amazing talent with the whole world!!
I was so lucky to see badlands and I am so glad to see jake e lee.that was such a golden time and I always enjoyed watching him play.jake many of us support you and will always be there for you. I never knew what happened to you and I am glad you are back . I hope to see you again and you are amazing guitarist and mesmerizing to watch and you are special and talented.best of luck in all you do .
I love all your stuff, Jake. Ozzy, Badlands was amazing, and this has evolved into something else. You have always been an inspiration. You're a primary reason I play guitar.
Jake is one of the most interesting guitar players of his time.... he always manages to throw something or many things in to prick your ears.... having you say 'wait a minute... what was that?'
I have always loved Jake, as a guitarist but all these years later, getting to hear his perspective and philosophy on things, I realize how much respect I have for the man and the player. Wish more musicians had his vibe.
Whoa !!!!.........He thinks as well as he plays. So true what he said ;........All the great one's from the 70's all had a totally distinct sound;.......Alex Lifeson included.
A Metaphysical Spiritual Guitar Shaman, Jake E Lee is Guitar. "Music is a vibration that is Sacred." Thanx for this interview, best one ever in an intimae perspective ov his mind. \m/
BADLANDS WAS THE GREATEST ROCK/METAL/FUNK/BLUES BAND i EVER HEARD AND WITH RAY GILLAN SINGING, WOW....I MISS THAT MANS VOICE. RIP RAY. THANK YOU JAKE. LONG ISLAND JOE - RIP TOMMY BOLIN TOO...THE KING OF GUITAR VERSATILITY.
Who, dosen´t love Jake E Lee!!!!!! Thank GOD hi´s Back!!! Just Love the Guy! Keep it up Jake, Rock on. CYA! Again Soon i hope. ! , Saw ya at Sweden Rock Festival 2014, it was awesome,. Thanx Man!!!!!!!!!
I'm so very happy to see/HEAR JakeE is playing again! His straight talking, honest & humble presence is refreshing. Thanks for posting & sharing this with us!🙏🏼👌🏼
Jake E. Lee is a badass guitar player and IMO he's Ozzie's greatest guitarist with the best techniques and I dare to say better than Randy Rhoads. Jake E. Lee along with Vitto Bratta have been so underreated. I'm glad he made a come back for the sake of rock and metal and for the old and new generations to see a great shredder that are almost extinct nowadays.
Ozzy never had a mediocre guitarist, even Gillis was a great player. But, it's a matter of ranking genius and Jake is at the top. Randy was brilliant, Jake changed the game and paved the way for Yngwie, not that Yngwie is even in the same league for leaving a legacy of classic albums.
Jake "changed the game"? LOL. Hardly. Even Max Norman said he had a very difficult time getting a performance out of Jake during the recording of BATM, and it shows. Randy's compositions are miles ahead of ANYTHING Jake ever came up with. And your statement that Jake somehow "paved the way" for Yngwie is pure fantasy - Yngwie was paving his own way in Sweden while Randy was still alive, the proof is all over RUclips. Honestly.. the fantasy world some of you people live in is mind-boggling.
Interesting. Guess what I meant was, having been there as a kid when Rhoads died(age 12) and hearing BATM, it changed everything. Then Ynwgwie emerged years later. It was no fantasy land, and Jake E Lee brought about the "shredders".
Jake, if you see this, I love the song “Slow Down” that you did with Ozzy, your guitar playing and chords /solos were totally original, futuristic and amazing. They were chords that no one would ever think of but you. I would love to hear you play that. I’m 52, I met Carmine just after he left Ozzy and had King Kobra going, another great band and drummer. His drums were rounded out on “Bark at the moon”. The things he played on that album were very poorly recorded.
Jake is Fucking Awesome!!! So unique and Recognizable. and his attitude makes him even More Bad ass!! Please don't go away again Jake. We Your Fans Love You and have missed Your Incredible Talent. Everything You touch is better for it. Just be Yourself as always and we will always be there listening. #1 Fan
Jake asking if you have ozzy and badlands fans still?....trust me Jake were still here brother you left a mark on us ..and thank you for the music always ,,🙏..great interview....can't wait to hear the new album.
Does Jake have his own RUclips channel? I gotta say the loudest gig I've ever been to was at the Bakersfield Civic Auditorium when Badlands opened up for Cinderella on their Long Cold Winter tour...I'll never forget it, Jake lost power during Winter's Call...God, I miss those days...
GREAT interview! I've never really heard Jake's thoughts on Randy's playing and the pressure of following him. I also loved the inside scoop on the writing process with Ozzy(which Zakk described the same way). Very Cool.
Jake is an amazing player, it was because of the bark at the moon riff I heard on the radio that I bought the album! Best guitarist with Ozzy no question.
But Jake a lot of us out here wanted to "Look at you again."!! The humbleness is appreciated but millions of us wanted to hear new Jake E. Lee material.
Personably I think Jake is technically one of the best guitarists but I always appreciated him for seeming like a dude that never lost touch with reality and musically took a stand…from insane fingerings, unique phrasing, to no Floyd Rose. I don’t know him from Adam but the musicians that collaborated with him seem to appreciate the things he did for them and the person he is, although Ozzy/Sharon seldom part ways on good terms.
Jake you are great its funny listening to your opinion cause i feel the same way about and the lack of being unique and every body sounding the same and learning a song by record vs on line ive had this same discussion a million times Jake i hope you finally get the credit you so fully deserve
awesome interview! Jake is a God! He did an amazing job filling Randy's shoes. Jake is a very highly underrated guitar player - a real master! So glad he is back! I really look forward to the exciting things he does. Jake is quite inspiring. Thanks Indie power!!! awesome interview! !!!!!
fricken "A" Jake....your awesome dude...don't need ya to win any marathons. just be you.....after my 32 years of playin', i'd rather have you to listen to, than not.....lol,i remember all those hours learning shit off the record player...then tape deck...then cds....now i generalize stuff i learn, in my own way.....and it don't need to be perfect, just 100% me and my understanding of the songs meaning.....peace and thanks for the great interview indiepower....rock on!
Exactly. I did the same thing back then. 52 now still playing and learning a bit through the internet, but my style is still old school. People say, " whoa, how'd you do that, " I'd say, idk it's just how I learned it. By ear 😀. That's how you accidentally stumble upon other chords or riffs. Well said 👍 btw.
They were so perfect that they went multi platinum! Oh wait, that didn’t happen because while technically good there’s nothing special or new about it. If this was the best he could come up with it deserved to be forgotten.
@@chrisa1125 It is if want to keep your label. That’s just fact. So you should at least know that before acting like a child. You fanboys are the worse.
+Mr W Mustaine down to earth?..Guitarist?..that's why he's so well liked..Mustaine is the biggest douche in Music period..he's mellow now because he's older..I saw my hero a REAL MUSICIAN NIKKI SIXX knock Mustaine out backstage in 2000 Toronto..he would pick on the back up singers one was Meatloafs daughter freaking out at the fans and his 15 Megacrap mosh pit..one chic was singing some song in the crowd I guess better than him and he yells.."This isn't karaoke bitch" turning his back to the crowd.. even his fans were booing him throwing shit..which I don't think its cool to do but when you act like that then the whole Some Kind of Monster Metallica reunion with him interview he signed a waiver that said they could use every word he said..and tried to sue them because he looked bad yet again Douche Dave always blames other people..its never his fault.. then I saw them when I met another REAL MUSICIAN AND GREATEST GUITARIST..Zakk Wylde..pic is in my profile.. as soon as BLS left the stage almost the whole arena emptied for Megacrap..Dave hiked his skirt and got all flustered and I heard they ended their set early..this was 2013.. if you like him..great but he's a ungrateful dick..now he wants to make amends and wanted to quit long ago but his so called friends had to talk him into keep going I must give him credit after Metallica another REAL BAND..fired him..he did go on and do his thing he should be proud of that..sad part is he will never appreciate what he's done because he still can't let go of that day I give him credit for that he still sounds like he did years ago on Guitar..has not evolved at all same crap riffs RnR Baby Niki B
+Nickib70 I can't say anything bad about Sixx. He's the fuckin man and my favorite musician of all time next to Cliff Burton. Never knew that about Mustaine.
+Nickib70 Mustaine is not a bad guitarist though and is an excellent musican. Have to give him that. Anyway. ..back to Jake. he's awesome and deserves his due dammit!!
Mustaine is...something else. Once you realize what you are dealing with he becomes somewhat humorous, like a "character". Not defending him. Entire psychological recovery services devoted to helping people heal who were subjected to people with a certain personality "disorder". Leaving a wake of hurt. But he is a metal musician of the highest order, saw Megadeth in the late 90's ( with Marty and Nick) and a few years back on Dystopia tour. He got better. The band was better, and in the 90's they were already formidable. Wouldnt want to share a pizza or a ride across town with him but he's an awesome musician.
Spot on re: everyone learning sings from the same videos. Not how we did it back in the day at all. It would've been way too easy for him to make an 80's comeback record. Glad he did his own thing. Are there no recordings of Lynch doing the Ozzy soundchecks? Would love to hear that!
Love Jake's candor, his story of Lynch being ozzy's top pick before Ozzy refuted by George on Metal Shop and subsequently, says Randy beat him out. Dana Strum also confirms Ozzy wanted Randy .
Jake seems like a very open minded versatile Guitarist about his opinions on different style's of music. Being a successor to Randy probably narrowed his style to what Ozzy and the record companies wanted. In my younger years I always thought he was just a Randy/EVH clone but now I realize the time and places he was in he had no choice. And his rant on 2:50 about modern players all sounding the same from learning from the same source, I have to agree. in order to get the feel and your variation on the song you have to learn by ear. You may not be playing 100% correct but at least you know the feel of the song and try to interpret it in your own way. In which will make you a better player rather than learning from tab or by a video. That's my own opinion.
I'm happy to hear that he has reconciled with his daughter. I know that for a number of years she wouldn't even speak to him. Don't know what happened between them in the first place as it's none of my fucking business . It is however always great to see family members heal past wounds and experience the power of forgiveness.
Till this day it stock in my mined how someone could be so good and don't reed music at all
Do what you've always been good at Jake. Love WTF you do
He the only person I could put lyrics to what he plays
In my opinion he is way better than Zakk and I like Zakk alot but when he was with Ozzy he was one of the best
Righteous comment brother!! Love Jake...Always have.🤘☢🤘
Back in the 80's Jake was the most exciting guitar player I had ever seen live. Even more so than Eddie Van Halen. Yeah, I said it :-)
+NuclearGrizzly Awesome!
NuclearGrizzly totally agree seen um both "back in the day" & now Way above most out there.... glad he never sold out
NuclearGrizzly. I totally agree with you, and feel the same way.
Jake E. Lee is a guitar beast.

The Ultimate Sin is my Favourite album, Jake E Lee was one major reason why I play guitar. I still listen to that great album today.
I like songs on that album. though I wish it was mixed down differently.
You are probably right
I saw the tour
Seen that tour u sin tour one of my first shows
The Ultimate Sin literally came out the month I started playing guitar when I was twelve, so way back in the spring of '86. Jake became an influence about that time and I was very pissed when Ozzy fired him. I worked my ass of to learn his material. Bark at the Moon is my favourite Ozzy album and I know it's all because of Jake.
five5x Such a great album! \m/
five5x I like Jake E Lee, but your favorite Ozzy album is Blizzard or Diary. It's a fact!
+Sheryl Chapman did I say WHY? just being silly..on the new album post..glad Jake is still going even as rough as the last tour was Band member changes and the album didn't do any business..
he must be pumping quite a bit of his own $$ into it
but now a days you don't really need a record deal or studio to record..I know he's a PC Wiz and has great home studio equipment..I hope he comes back to Toronto..just plays small clubs..wonder who will be in the Band this time..I love Jake..we play Bark and Ultimate Sin and shot in the dark..loved him since he joined Oz!!!!

he said he's not living in the 80's..great..and you should progress as a player great and not keep playing the same stuff..yet that's what he's doing..keeps contradicting himself
If he's true to his word..play your own new stuff and that's it no old Oz stuff
he doesn't care about selling his album or how many people show up at the shows
well that part is true and its happening
he played in Toronto the same club my band does and many club bands do
when I saw him 90% of the set list was old Oz and Bad Lands..which I like
great to see him but Jake still sounds rough when he plays I think its because of all the years off
and he still drinks way too much on stage..half way thru he was wobbly..sloppy..in a CLUB..a Bar Band
sad to see..people were walking out..tickets were only $25..
Im glad he's ok..but I don't think he knows what he wants to do
he does care what people think even tho'he keeps saying he just does what he wants and doesn't listen to outside influence..that's so not true
or else he would not have replaced the Original Band members
and cave in to promoters managers and change the set list
stay true to yourself and keep plugging the new stuff..
but he wont..new tour if they do..plus he has other health issues..he's canceled shows because
his back was hurting..huh? so what get out there and battle thru it
so promoters would be pissed and not book him..I know the business side
I think he waited too long and came back with not good music and his playing obviously he didn't keep up with it
I want to see him do good..seriously but dude put some real effort into it
he's still sloppy and needs to cut the drinking out on stage..for a pro or any Band thats not cool
have one or 2 before ya get on ok...but drunk half way thru..come on now..he is living in the 80's still
plus its only like an hour of playing..
for me his legacy is being tarnished..to me and obviously many others
sorry to say
read what made him come back..he was chasing an ice cream truck and fell in a ditch almost broke his ankle
and thought I'm not doing anything with my life..read it in one of the Guitar mags when he came back
I was excited..and surprised..but when I heard the album and seen the Band
wow..he should of kept chasing the truck
enjoy life..
that's how I feel..
trust me..he's gonna be playing the same old OZ stuff if they tour
and the new album will not do any business because of the last one
just the way it is

Me too....it's my fav album and song...didn't realise Jake coined the title, now I know
There is NO WAY you cannot respect the hell out of this man. Such a great guy.
Michael Vanderford You said it! \m/
How do you know if he's a great guy?
Absolutely
He got the short end of the stick, he deserved way better than he got.
I could listen to this guy talk all day.
me too
me too....real gentleman
IKR, Jake is very interesting and intelligent.
I live here in Las Vegas where Jake & several other guitarists reside. I was wondering if any of these guys could guest DeeJay on the local rock radio station playing their favorite tunes and a little history story telling like this.
Thanks for letting him talk without interrupting, and thanks for not having annoying music on while he's talking.
A real cool, humble genuine guy! Thank you Jake.

+Sheryl Chapman WHY?
INDIEPOWER_TV Where did this interview take place?
Out of all the Ozzy guitarists, I felt he was the best. I liked watching him move when playing. Great Showman/musician.
I totally believe Jake's story about song writing credits that he and Bob Daisley were due and never got .
They were ripped ruthlessly by Sharon & Ozzy !
MrOzgooner Yeah it's pretty crazy! Not sure if you saw it, but he mentioned it on That Metal Show as well.
Lee Kerslake was ripped too
MrOzgooner She was a total butt hurting ass witch.... Jake, Bob & Lee got screwed royally
So true, Ozzy on his own is,the no where man. He was built up by Randy, Jake and Bob. If it weren't for them he'd have been lost in a dream.
Bob Daisleys book is fantastic. Great read... lays the facts out straight
What an awesome humble down to Earth guy, and of course an AMAZING guitarist! He didn't fill Randy Rhoads shoes, he brought his own.
And this why he's remained true to his gift...phenomenal talent and a profound soul
A humble and intelligent man. Much respect for him. I wish him all the best.

yes ..he is very nice and spiritual...doesn't give a shit to the others
Jake's guitar work is astounding when/if he's in the melodic feel. So much innovation comes out of him when playing melodic. When he's playing in dark or metal style as well... He's amazing...
Mike Wilson Definitely! Such a great player!

Jake is without a doubt, one of the best, most humble musicians today! Thanks for sharing with us Jake!!
Great interview. Love Jake's insight.
Phenomenal guitarist.
Jake should narrate a few books.
I can listen to him all day
I can't.
Jake E. Lee is the guitar ninja god.
Jake E. Lee rules and so glad he's back with us, the world if rock and metal needs you.
***** Guitar Ninja God! Well said! lol

Just as cool a person as he is an excellent guitarist. Great interview.
plaidman67 Definitely! Glad you liked it.
I have always loved Jake, as a guitarist but all these years later, getting to hear his perspective and philosophy on things, I realize how much respect I have for the man and the player. Wish more musicians had his vibe.
I haven't seen everybody but Jake is the best guitarist I've ever seen live. Changed the course of my life.
you did not see Randy is what I am inferring from that
The man's integrity and determination to live by principal are both rare and very inspiring. Plus, he's a smokin' guitar player. Super cool dude.
Whoa !!!!.........He thinks as well as he plays. So true what he said ;........All the great one's from the 70's all had a totally distinct sound;.......Alex Lifeson included.

***** Well said!!!
LOL.
Yes Jake you do have fans, don't be so humble, your freakin awesome!
UnityMedia1 One of the greats!
The things he played on that album were very poorly recorded.
love the solo in that song.
JAKE has a charisma & style that few can match!
YOU, SIR.... ARE ONE OF MY HEROES!!!!
Jake E. Lee is such a phenomenal musician and class guy.
#1 Fan
Between Ozzy and Badlands Jake is a legend with his compositions, God bless him
Jake is an A leaguer, amazing player too
Really loving listening to the 1st Badlands album again lately,so it's great to see what an honest down to earth guy Jake really is.
1st album I ever bought. Bark at the moon And it was a cassette tape. Totally awesome
Great interview. Solid, down to earth guy. What is not to like about him. We all needed him back too!
GREAT interview! I've never really heard Jake's thoughts on Randy's playing and the pressure of following him. I also loved the inside scoop on the writing process with Ozzy(which Zakk described the same way). Very Cool.
Jake E. Lee is a badass guitarist, and IMO he's Ozzy's greatest guitarist and hope to hear the song killer of giants performed live soon.
***** A badass indeed.
INDIEPOWER_TV Agree. Jake E. Lee is also a guitar god given talent.
***** Yep!!!
He disapeared from the rock scene too soon
A great interview, thanks for sharing it!
PeterInglisGuitar Thanks - Absolutely!
Great interview of a legend.
WE LOVE YOU Mr. LEE !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Badlands has got to be one of the most underrated and under served bands EVER!!
Jake is an amazing player, it was because of the bark at the moon riff I heard on the radio that I bought the album! Best guitarist with Ozzy no question.
Great interview start to finish.
The reason I picked up a Guitar was because of Jake E Lee!!! Forever the guitar ninja!!!
+sixnationriders Awesome!
Jake Lee is a great guitar player very very melodic solos great great mobility and his playing very humbled musician
Totally awesome!!! 🎸👍🏻😎🤘🏻
Very well put!
wow! great interview.
Mathieu T Glad you liked it!
if ONLY they would remaster the Ozzy & Jake concert I would watch it all the time that was a bomb
LOVE HIS STAGE PRECENCE! AND GREAT UNIQUE GUITARRIFFS!
CrossTheLine1000 Absolutely!
nice guy and great player.
3:23 He said Geezer !
ya Jake. I am one of those fans. Ozzy and Badlands love your work with those bands. rock on
I am so glad Jake E. Lee's back. One of GREAT guitar player. Thank you Jake E. Lee.
I can watch Jake plays that guitar all day he’s such an amazing player n the moves wow..
The Bruce Lee of Guitar! Much love Jake ❤
Jake E Lee was, is, and always will be a badass!!! I'll go out of my way anytime to catch him at a live show...!
Jake you are great its funny listening to your opinion cause i feel the same way about and the lack of being unique and every body sounding the same and learning a song by record vs on line ive had this same discussion a million times
Jake i hope you finally get the credit you so fully deserve
We have to be unique in all professions ..that's the way you enjoy more your life...he is right 100%
What a cool interview and love your attitude Jake!
awesome interview! Jake is a God! He did an amazing job filling Randy's shoes. Jake is a very highly underrated guitar player - a real master! So glad he is back! I really look forward to the exciting things he does. Jake is quite inspiring. Thanks Indie power!!! awesome interview! !!!!!
True Jake. I try to learn things by ear.
amazing interview!
fricken "A" Jake....your awesome dude...don't need ya to win any marathons. just be you.....after my 32 years of playin', i'd rather have you to listen to, than not.....lol,i remember all those hours learning shit off the record player...then tape deck...then cds....now i generalize stuff i learn, in my own way.....and it don't need to be perfect, just 100% me and my understanding of the songs meaning.....peace and thanks for the great interview indiepower....rock on!
+ding aling He is awesome! Glad you enjoyed it! \m/
Badlands was the most underappreciated band of the 80's. The first 2 albums were perfection.
They were so perfect that they went multi platinum! Oh wait, that didn’t happen because while technically good there’s nothing special or new about it. If this was the best he could come up with it deserved to be forgotten.
@@12floz67 Oh, so for something to be great it needs to go multi-platinum? Lol, you sound like a poser. Pop fan?
@@chrisa1125
It is if want to keep your label. That’s just fact. So you should at least know that before acting like a child. You fanboys are the worse.
When I think of great musicians, Jake E. Lee and Dave Mustaine come to mind. Two of the most down to earth and kick ass guitarists of our time.
+Mr W Mustaine down to earth?..Guitarist?..that's why he's so well liked..Mustaine is the biggest douche in Music period..he's mellow now because he's older..I saw my hero a REAL MUSICIAN NIKKI SIXX knock Mustaine out backstage in 2000 Toronto..he would pick on the back up singers one was Meatloafs daughter freaking out at the fans and his 15 Megacrap mosh pit..one chic was singing some song in the crowd I guess better than him and he yells.."This isn't karaoke bitch" turning his back to the crowd..
even his fans were booing him throwing shit..which I don't think its cool to do but when you act like that
then the whole Some Kind of Monster Metallica reunion with him interview
he signed a waiver that said they could use every word he said..and tried to sue them because he looked bad
yet again Douche Dave always blames other people..its never his fault..
then I saw them when I met another REAL MUSICIAN AND GREATEST GUITARIST..Zakk Wylde..pic is in my profile..
as soon as BLS left the stage almost the whole arena emptied for Megacrap..Dave hiked his skirt and got all flustered
and I heard they ended their set early..this was 2013..
if you like him..great but he's a ungrateful dick..now he wants to make amends and wanted to quit long ago but
his so called friends had to talk him into keep going
I must give him credit after Metallica another REAL BAND..fired him..he did go on and do his thing
he should be proud of that..sad part is he will never appreciate what he's done because he still can't let go of that day
I give him credit for that
he still sounds like he did years ago on Guitar..has not evolved at all
same crap riffs
RnR Baby
Niki B
Wouldnt want to share a pizza or a ride across town with him but he's an awesome musician.
sounds like a genuinely nice guy - great interview many thanks
dieter schanzer Absolutely! Glad you enjoyed it!
Jake made History Cream of the Crop Iommi Rhoads Halen
Jake is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. I has the opportunity to see him in the early 90s. He was great then and is still great!
Missed you for many years Jake. Please keep active...
When are you going to tour Australia Jake ? You are the king !
Red Dragon Cartel kicks ass. Anybody who is overlooking them is missing out.
Spot on re: everyone learning sings from the same videos. Not how we did it back in the day at all.
It would've been way too easy for him to make an 80's comeback record. Glad he did his own thing.
Are there no recordings of Lynch doing the Ozzy soundchecks? Would love to hear that!
MAN YOU'RE THE ONE THAT'S UNIQUE,YOU GRAB THE NECK OF THAT GUITAR,AND I'M IN AWE,MORE FACETS AND A DIAMOND,THX JAKE
***** Very unique!
***** That's a good point. Putting your own interpretation on a song is important!
JAKE E. LEE YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST......
Great one!
Yeah. Jake E Lee rocks
I'm happy to hear that he has reconciled with his daughter. I know that for a number of years she wouldn't even speak to him. Don't know what happened between them in the first place as it's none of my fucking business . It is however always great to see family members heal past wounds and experience the power of forgiveness.
