      @michaelbackhus1923 7 месяцев назад

      Because his hair is short. That's why his name never comes up when they talk about great guitarists. Just like he said. What a lame excuse.
      He cranks the delay and flanger and then plays as fast as he can but it is mostly 2 note flutters up and down the neck and the delay makes it sound like he is playing double speed and the flanger is set so deep and loud to make up for the sour notes that don't make sense.
      its like audio smoke and mirrors. That's why you never saw him as a gun slinger for major acts. Ozzy heard the same thing and that's why he never even brought him out on stage. I know of only one decent riff he's done and has used it on at least 4 different songs changed slightly. So not very creative. If only his hair was longer. M...HM.

    I feel for you George. 2004 I managed to land an audition with Chris Caffery former sabotage and current TSO guitarist. He was putting a solo band together to tour record that he had just put out on Black Lotus records.
    I had kept my hair long and my look together but about 6 months earlier had cut it short.
    And of course my look cost me the job. He said, and I quote; "You are a monster bass player. Definitely the best I've had come in. But I have reservations about your look. Your hair is too short and you are 30 pounds too heavy."
    I spent 400 dollars I didnt have to get to that audition and I'll never forget the lesson.
    The hair grew back, I lost the weight but I never got another chance.
    After he said it I had excused myself to the bathroom and my buddy that drove me there said to Chris, "You know, that cat kept his hair long for the past 25 years just in case he ever managed to get an audition like this."
    And Chris told him, "Well he picked a hell.of a time to cut it didnt he?"

Just the way he even touches the strings to get the tone the way he does, his melodies, his command of the instrument. 'Unchain the night', one of my favorite solos. And George's rhythm tone is great as well. I had seen him with Exciter at the Starwood in Hollywood several times back in '77, '78. No idea who he was, but he sounded like a top class professional, for any style.

    I was once with Don Dokken, Jeff, Mick, George, and Oni backstage at a Dokken reunion on New Year's Eve in Phoenix. George wanted Oni to go on, Don was like "This is a Dokken show! Not a LynchMob show!" Etc, so weird to be there seeing it really happen. Lots was said and yelled, and I will save that for whenever I can maybe ask George for an interview on a guitar channel I am starting. The things that really went on were crazier than the stories we read in rock magazines. I was literally like that kid in the movie "Almost Famous" except I was not a reporter, or a kid. Just a acquaintance/friend of Oni. I also sang for a few seconds with the LynchMob the first time they ever played live at the Mason Jar in Phoenix. And they had a band name they used I cannot repeat here, but the acronym was TGBNBFC. 🤣 Another long story. Anyway, this kind of shit Ozzy did does not surprise me in the least.

He doesn’t play any instruments I’ve heard better singers down at the local rock club.Let’s see he bit the head off of a bat and got a lot of publicity.Was that it? Lee and bassist/lyricist Bob Daisley. Lee claims he was threatened with firing by Osbourne's wife and manager Sharon if he refused to sign a 1983 contract stating that he would relinquish his claims to writing and publishing.[1] In 2003, Daisley filed a lawsuit against the Osbournes, claiming lost royalties for his significant songwriting contributions._

I don't care how wasted he was from time to time, there are video interviews of Ozzy during the early to mid 80s, where he was more clear headed and articulate than he is now, despite the fact that he is now supposedly clean and sober.**
    So I'm no longer buying into the notion that he was essentially a walking zombie in the 80s, who could only sing on stage, but was otherwise completely incapable of, and uninvolved in his own band's decision making process! Ozzy was just as guilty as Sharon for screwing over MOST of his band mates in the early to mid 80s. The 2 of them had more money than God by 1984, so there was no excuse for NOT paying George Lynch a penny for traveling with them as a potential replacement guitarist, then firing him. There was no excuse for stealing writing credits and royalties from Lee Kerslake, Bob Daisley and Jake!
