    Still, if you can come back from the 20th place to the 9th on a track where it is extremely difficult to overtake, you're a real damn good driver.

      Martin280967 (Simply The Best) but if you crash in every race wasting points you can be the best overtaker ever but never win a world championship
      EDIT: I rooted for max all the 2021 season and can't be more happy for his victory, the year of my comment I was mad at him apparently for his contacts with ferrari
      he matured so much and this year he drove flawlessly, always on p1 or p2 unless he had dnfs or was crashed by bottas, he is easily the best driver on grid and deserved this title

      Andrea Mantelli Agree. I’m a huge fan of Max, but he lost a lot of points already this season. He won 2 points this race, but lost (at least) 16 points this weekend. It could have been a 1-2 for Red Bull, just like in China.

    • @andreamantelli93
      @andreamantelli93 6 лет назад +19

      Brskywalker14 in bahrein he wasted a potential fifth place crashing into Hamilton, in China a potential second place, in Azerbaijan a fourth place, in Monaco he had the car that could win. He wasted at least 65 points, just because he scored a podium and a couple of points here doesn't mean he can win a championship if he continues to drive like that

      Overtaking Haas, the Saubers and the Williams cars + one Renault is an amazing drive? He got fucking P9. It's not impossible to overtake in Monaco as said by former F1 engineer. You just have to be quicker, which Max was. Also the overtake on Sainz was terrible. He could've been given a penalty for an illegal overtake there if Max wouldn't have pushed Sainz off the lap before.

    • @Vekkuli001

    What bothered me most about this "race" was that nobody (especially the guys at the front) showed a single sign of even wanting to try and overtake, it's like everybody conceded in Monaco you cannot overtake so we're not even gonna try anymore.. They were all happy just doing a parade, safely bagging those WDC points, even when the front runner had major engine problems and they were lapping 3-4 sec slower then some people in midfield (Max only finished 25 sec behind Daniel, without a SC, which speaks volumes).. One of the most disappointing races I've ever seen in Monaco, other then Ricciardo winning which he deserved 100%.. I hope Canada will be a lot better, it most likely will be, and we'll see Max back at the front again as well..

    • @accidentian
      @accidentian 6 лет назад +31

      I think that's probably not true. It's probably not because drivers don't want to overtake, but because every team wants only one pit stop for not risking their track position. The only cars that can do overtake while manage an one-stop strategy is the Red Bull as we saw, so other teams, strategy-wise, will prefer to keep track position. Also, Ferrari and Mercedes don't perform well either, and Hamilton has problems managing tyres, so I think that's why there's no much overtake. Pirelli try to encourage two stops but obviously teams don't care.

      They didn't need or want to risk anything. You can overtake at Monaco, but people are usually too scared to attempt it. You need balls to overtake at Monaco.
      You know why it was a parade? The tyres. This years race was a repeat of 2013. Everybody concerned with tyre wear so it was just a Sunday drive for most, taking it easy so they don't have to pit and can keep track position. If you want the real villain of the race - it's the tyres. If Pirelli chose tyres which lasted the whole race whilst pushing, maybe we would've actually had a proper Monaco GP.
      Pirelli need to learn that you DO NOT want super degradable tyres at Monaco, because everyone drives slowly and doesn't want to risk pitting and losing track position. It just makes the racing much much worse than it should've been. I'd prefer if everybody drove off into the distance and built gaps to their rivals in their rightful positions, than just cruising around, because at least then they'd be pushing.

    The people saying the Sainz overtake was illiegal must be enjoying watching their first season of F1. The stewards would have made Sainz give Max the place for straightlining the chicane on the lap before, but Max didn't have time to wait for that. Sainz and Renault SHOULD have given up the place earlier in the lap, Sainz drove like a deluded, bitter little man here.

    Fp3 lit a fire under his ass called the team manager. Max worked on his biggest flaw here, split second decisions and consistency. Rather than starting 5th and crashing, p20 > p9 was a great challenge for his patience and he has shown that if needed, he CAN do it. Now it needs to become a habit and he can actually compete with the big boys on the longer term and fight to be the best

    A lot of people complaining and making fun of max and especially the last overtake on sainz... smh clearly dont know anything about f1. I find it very cool that redbull and Max sat down and talked about his style and decided to change it so that they could get some consistency ( Which worked). And the overtake on sainz, was it off the track? yes. But sainz had defended off the track a lap earlier and kept the position illegally he would have had to give it back anyways. Max at least made a large effort even going over the high kerb to attempt the overtake thats why it was deemed legal.

    • @Roi8Arachnide
      @Roi8Arachnide 6 лет назад +2

      except the lap before sainz didn't defend off the track, he was pushed off by verstappen. sainz had no choice but to cut the chicane or he would have crashed in verstappen because he lefg him no room.
      i love verstappen but in both cases he was the one making a mistake

    • @delirioususer9668
      @delirioususer9668 6 лет назад

      The amount of effort you make on an overtake has nothing to do with whether it's legal or not if things are fair.

    Which....would also be around the time of a true comparison with likes of Schumi, Hamilton, Senna, Prost, etc.
    Being Dutch I am surely not 100% objective, but I truly, 100% believe that Max is destined to join those ranks.

      duncanevy different ball game but the haters still picking on something. That FP3 accident was caused by multiple things, lost of focus by guy driving ahead and so on and the touch was so unfortunate to have caused such damage but that was monaco and lost of focus even for a tiny bit can be so catasrofic.

    • @delirioususer9668
      @delirioususer9668 6 лет назад

      Zhavior HD you can't solely blame that on loss of focus. An F1 driver needs to focus, that's part of his job, what he's paid for. If he lost focus, it is purely his own fault.
      Also, Verstappen had a great race, but in the end he is the sole reason why he finished p9 and not p1. Not anyone else.

    • @Firemarioflower
      @Firemarioflower 6 лет назад

      YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!!!! RedBull was much better on the tyres in Spain, Vettel couldn't come close to Max.
      Pirelli fucked Ferrari over to give the two other teams a better chance. They were bribed by Mercedes. And Monaco the RedBull had a so much better package. With that power loss the disadvantage of Ricciardo wasn't big enough to close the gap and attack. Remember also that the drivers have to manage their tyres and fuel. They can't go flat out all the time.
      SO IT"S UTTER BULLSHIT WHAT YOU SAY!!! We know Vettel, hés always keen to make progress and pass people. He showed that last year by makign very risky moves on the tracks where he had to come back from last.
      Vettel isn't a pussy, you saw that Crash-Happen couldn't get passed Sainz without leaving track limits, it's impossible to ovetake in Monaco with a small power/grip/aero deficit.
      The aero coming off the diffusoer of a leading car keeps cars behind to lose downforce and overheat their tyres. The ultrasoft tyres were pretty shit on the track, they did not cope well and Vettel suffered severly with them.
      You ppl have no knowledge whatsoever about the problem with current F1.

      well that is a legit racing strategy. Senna did the same thing, divebomb and give you the choice to either give up the position or crash. It breaks the driver’s confidence. Next time he sees you in his mirrors he is going to think twice.
