Soooooo hey I wanted to point out a little tid bit of information, I haven't really seen anyone pass along on any of the creators channels I follow....
A much easier, safer, albeit a bit more random way to bolster your fleet of ships.
Any planet or Moon that has multiple landing locations to discover may very well have a ship parked in them.
It's as simple as boarding said ship hoping in the cockpit and flying off with it lol.
No skills, no risk, no combat, simply good old fashion Grand Theft Spacecraft!
Although I recommend doing this solo without a companion as they may or may not frown upon the theft depending who they are.
I'm still super early in the game and have added a couple different ships to my fleet with this method.
Currently cruising the Stars in a UC Vanguard Raptor lol which has more room for crew and better weapons right off the bat and once it's registered you can customize it how you see fit.

As someone who didn't really follow the pre-release news or have a lot of expectations about this game I'm having a great time. The problem with space games like this is people build it up so much in their heads their expectations end up spiraling out of control. I didn't know exactly what I would get when I bought it, but I'm very happy with what was delivered. 9/10 game for me.

I'm exactly the same. I learned nothing about the game and I've never really been interested in most Bathesda games, so I went into this completely blind and didn't expect much and I'm loving it. For me, its more of a 7.5 or 8/10 but really hard to put a number on it.
My brother follow it all and watched every interview and video about it and it does seem, it's not exactly as promised but its not a bad game

You didn't follow the pre-release stuff yet you know how people have built the game up to be something they'd inevitably be disappointed in? Ok sure. It's a perfectly ok game. Sorry but that's a huge fail considering the insane production time and delivering as a mediocre game. This was supposed to be a special game and ended up like all other Bethesda games. Modders will save it. At least we have that...

Important point about the unique ship parts. If you build a ship builder landing pad in your outpost you can use it to gain access to ALL available ship parts regardless of manufacturer. This includes shielded cargo holds without having to join the crimson fleet.

I've personally found inventory space to be essentially unlimited due to the new over encumbrance rules. You can still run but it costs stamina, and you can still sprint. Plus the dual stamina bars of O² and CO² means you effectively regenerate stamina twice as fast, as you burn them sequentially but they regenerate simultaneously. Sprinting and walking in tandem gets you where you're going at a good clip, and also grinds out the weightlifting skill quickly. So definitely grab that super heavy space suit worth tons of credits.

The thing I wish I knew sooner in Starfield would be about the Mission Boards. In the tavern areas on planets, there is usually a Mission Board and a Bounty clearing station. The pirate hunt missions are quite nice since I’ve been needing to destroy ships for Piloting skill progress anyways.

One more tip. You get an addtional storage space of 45 in your ship which is separate from ship storage, There is a captain's locker behind the pilot seat. But you can only access it when you are inside the ship.

Starfield took 8 years and $250 million; the same amount of time and money as Star Citizen, which is an MMO with whole planets, 200 fully physicalised ships, EVA, dozens of vehicles, ladders, elevators, physicalised cargo, in atmosphere flight.... and all with zero loading screens
Howard and co are now hoping Mods will just redo everything, make content, fix the flight mechanics, add multiplayer, NPCs, locations, graphics, learn how to mod procedural tech....
At this point the Mods should just open their own Studio and make a better game
It's like making interns do all the work.

Another tip for storage is you can access your ships cargo through the menu, im not sure of the limitations like too far from your ship or on mission. Just select your ship (left corner) through the start menu whatever button to access cargo hold (x on xbox) and you can have an addition 450 mass that your ship can utilize, on top of companions to help you out in the beginning. Just remember that will add up too so offload that loot when you hit a vendor, there's also a tab to sell directly from your cargo hold so no need to retrieve it!

    • @bptherapy5667

250m for taking and storing items in your ship. 500m for looting items in space (press LB/F to make it easier). if you're not sure where lootable items in space are, there will be pointers telling you everything around you, just follow the small circles.

Dude... Start customizing your ship. I spent 50k on upgrading the starter ship, and came out with better everything including doubling my storage space. Wait till we start making REAL credits. I'm gonna build a dreadnought.

  • @Sinn0100
    @Sinn0100 10 месяцев назад +10

There are some good tips here but I don't agree with some of them. For example, at the beginning of the game you should loot everything and I mean everything. You can do this by taking advantage of all of your storage options. Meaning, once your robot friends inventory is full move onto storing items in your ship's cargo hold. That can be done by opening your menu and selecting the ship tab.
Once you have completed the tutorial "dungeon" fill up everything. Fill your companion, fill your cargo hold, and then your character. I went well beyond the encumbered limit by over 150. My weight was in the high 300's. Then you fly to your first city as per your first story mission. Go to the kiosk which is roughly 50 feet from where you docked and sell, sell, sell. When the kiosk runs out of money go back to your ship and sleep for 24 hours. This will reset the kiosks credits enabling you to sell like crazy again. Wash, rinse, and repeat until you only have vital materials like health, weapons, armor, and your crafting materials. If you did this right you will start your game with 20,000+ credits.
Get target ship engines as early as you can. If you want to hijack enemy ships this is the skill you want.

I noticed you got the Mantis legendary suit and spaceship too, that's another great tip to follow . You can find those in the secret outpost in Denebola, something you can do early in the game when you finish the quest Old Neighbourhood :)

Loving everything about this game. Apart from the city of Neon. Every mission is the opposite side of the city from the start point. Which would be fine like on Akika for example. But Neon is made of about a million doors each with a load screen, really killed my motivation levels when I ended up there.

    • @LegacyGamingUS

Agreed, Neon is kind of a chore

    • @Wellgee
      @Wellgee 10 месяцев назад

100% agree. It just takes forever and sometimes the map markers don't work right and for whatever reason you can sometimes fast travel back to neon core and sometimes you have to walk like if you are at ebbtide or the upper area. Just awful.

As a heads up if you want free ships all the time just take the wanted perk during character creation. They literally just bring you ships when they attack and usually you can bird those on the ground, this saves you some skill points

i have not started the video yet, but i wanted to add that if you are in an area close by your ship (Mantis mission) and you start to become encumbered, there is no movement penalty outside of faster o2 depletion so you can load up your inventory and just mosy on back to your ship if you are close by. the mindset i have is that when doing something large like that with so much opportunity to profit, why not encumber myself. but dont forget vendors have limited credits! :p

When you pick up guns if you drop them from inventory you will clear the ammo and add to your inventory. Pick it back up if you want to sell it or use it. But if you don't drop it , you will sell with whatever ammo is loaded. It adds up quick. I was alway running low now I've got hundreds of each ammo type

I have 2 pretty big tips, first off, if you manage to get a bounty, it can really suck because only way to get rid of it is either flying to a civilian outpost to clear it at the white/red kiask, or doing the same at a city, normally near bars they’ll have one.. 2nd tip being the MOST important.. so I don’t fully know how game works and I won’t spoil anything but I’ll say before you spend all you’re time outpost building etc… consider new game plus…. Once you new game all your inventory and worlds etc are gone but levels and skills stay… keep this in mind because the rewards for new game plus are pretty.. well you’re gonna want them, trust me, only way to expand on some “skills” is new game plus, aswell as the passive rewards when you respawn are pretty sick. Even if they aren’t the best, it’s pretty close and you want them trust me. So I’d actually say you want to build first outpost etc all in new game plus, which is a little sad because it almost feels like “rush main story to get new game plus” THEN play the game, or atleast that’s kinda how I felt?. Either or loving it but yeah kinda wish you atleast kept inventory at best idk.

A lot of this from outpost, mining materials and resources, enemies attacking camp, ranking up perk cards, free view camp building is in F76. Think 76 was testing ground. Playing on 6th I’m going in kind of knowing how it’s going to be.

    Quicker fast travel tip:
you can actually skip every ship cutscene in the game even the grav jumping cutscene with one trick. All you have to do is make sure your not sitting in the pilot seat every time before you fast travel and the game will skip the cutscene and automatically start you on the planet already landed. Its the same when taking off and grav jumping, before you grav jump stand up out of the pilot seat then fast travel to where ever you want to go and it will instantly take you there without having to wait for the cutscene. This saves me alot of time from watching the same cutscenes of my ship over and over again. IT JUST WORKS.

BIG QUESTION here: Can you buy ship parts and store them in the builder or somehow? For instance, if i have enough for the main hull of my ship but not any weapons or shield generator can i buy the pieces i cash afford now like I'm building a computer and use them later once i have the money for the remaining pieces?

Once you can fast travel to lodge before you travel there from your ship. Empty your entire ships hold onto your character. You can still land your ship but appear at the lodge as long as you selected the lodge icon. You'll be encumbered as F but a very short distance from your Lodge room with the safe that has unlimited storage.

Its amazing how the initial reviews tried to assasinate this game. Yet , i am a good 20 hours in and loving it. Yes its still a bethesda game, so there still campy facial animations and NPC AI. Yes there are some odd bugs.
But as a whole, there is so much content and small details in this game you cant help but love it.
I have only unlocked one power so far. Because i am just so happy going from place to place running errands. Just arrived at Neon for first time and was super impressed.

A catch 22 isnt just a catch, it's a problem whose only solution is the problem, itself. So you'd say like "you're out of fuel and the only way to get more fuel is to travel...but you need fuel...to get fuel."
Appreciate the advise. Can't wait till Wednesday.

I took security incredibly early and it ended up giving me a golden one shot lmg that shoots like a dmr but has chance to do explosive shots and a chance to do electric shots. I sold every gun besides that one. I have 1 point in ballistic weapons and I still 1-3 shot every enemy.
