Super important to note that there are specific speech options based on the Background Choices, while some skills aren't immediately beneficial, the background is your badge of honor, big game hunters were seen to have a choice to increase your price for services during a conversation in the trailer, so this is more than a short term skill point choice, it will be your identity and how you can access different opportunities only accessible via this menu. As many have seen in New Vegas, skills and background choices can affect random events, choices when not only talking with people but interacting with tech and animals out in the galaxy. Fast points can cost you unique opportunities late game, the + mode at least gives you a chance to experience unique choices through each background combination!
There are also dialogue options based on the skills you have, not just your background. Ones I have seen are based on background traits like Wanted and skills such as diplomacy, manipulation, starship engineering, etc. I would highly recommend trying to unlock at least the first tier in as many skills as possible that you are interested in as soon as possible because there are some parts of the game that you may get different options in based on what skills you have.
The general census appears to be that the File Not Found background is not actually a mystery adventure or Wild Wasteland esque kind of twist, rather, it’s just a generic blank slate. The name File Not Found seems to heavily imply some kind of unique mystery behind it, but apparently it’s just a blank slate. I’m really looking forward to getting into this game this evening. My one question is, does your companion affect your ability to be stealthy? As in are they just standing there out in the open when you’re crouched behind a table and stuff. This will determine whether I start with the solo or companion trait that you can select(I believe) lol
If they're anything like other companions in past games, they will either draw no aggro whatsoever (but remain perfectly still out in the open), or they will draw all the aggro and go absolutely ham on anyone who sees them: leaving you to sneak past and pillage to your heart's content.
I just downloaded this game and there is so much stuff holy crap I never really played a Bethesda game before besides elder scrolls but I was a kid and didn’t understand anything basically. I decided to give this game a try and I can already tell I’m going to spend a year off my life playing it I can’t wait to learn more as I go!
I havent been blown away by any dialogue yet. I will say though, I can definitely appreciate the art and design in this game. Feels grounded for a sci-fi. The aesthetic is grade A (when asteroids arent glitching like a beach ball) 😂
I'm 3 hours in on xboxone, streaming it. Runs smooth looks slightly better than fallout 4 but not as good as elden ring. It's very... Fallout 4 in space. A little all over the place with menues. A little dissapointed with the space flight aspect seeming to be just a fancy fast travel... Why can't I actually fly my dam ship! But all in all after only a few hours it's ooookkkk. Looking forward to it opening out into something bigger.
Ive spent a couple hours in the game and genuinely wanted a good story. The constellation story already has me zoning out at work. This games gonna be a page turner
We need a good tutorial showing/explaining the HUD. I can't even find my health meter. lol I haven't died yet because I grab every health pack I can and eat them like candy.
How do companion skills factor into gameplay? Can you send a companion to pick a lock, stealth kill an enemy, or craft stuff? Or do you need to do everything skillwise that you want to do?
I downloaded this game from Game Pass last night but bought the premium upgrade because I didn't want to wait until Wednesday to play. I'm just barely getting started but can't wait to get home from work so I can dive in and explore.
Biggest issue I had was when I got to New Atlantis I ended up with 8 different quest markers with no idea which one was for what mission! There's an option in the missions menu to show selected target or "all targets" why on earth anyone would want all selected I have no idea!
Shipbuilding question. Are you changing ships a lot? Wondering if you do all this work and waste credits and then something better just comes along. That would be annoying. Plus how do you access inventory on multiple ships? Like if an item you need is on ship 1 and your using ship 3 what happens then?
I’m really impressed with Starfield after debating for some time whether or not to buy it. I must admit that the first two or three hours were bumpy and extremely confusing (menu, loading, menu, loading…..) and it’s nowhere near as pretty as I hoped it would be….. but then it sort of smooths out and feels like you are on an insane ride through the cosmos; the power of the game hit me and now I’m really enjoying it. It does not have the immersion of Skyrim or Fallout 4, which is a shame, but it does offer something … different.
With 2K24 & PL Cyberpunk 2007 dlc I’ve been busy grinding but now I finally have time to play & im loving it. But it’s a bit intense in the beginning, even lock picking was throwing me off but I figured it out after a couple of hours lol
The fast travel is nice, but Im sure you can miss a lot of stuff doing that. I'll probably get back in my ship, go to space, and plot my course to my objective. You never know, you could have a epic encounter in space.
@@ndwhitlow I know you cant freely explore space and actually fly to that point, but I am saying just go back to space and plot the objective. Just going to space could trigger a encounter. Im not a fan of the idea to just fast travel between planets. LOL so i will add unnecessary steps hahaaa
Side note bc Im a new player and one thing I noticed in my own playthrough is you miss a lot of fun interactions with other ships in space if you strictly fast travel. I’ve gotten lots of good gear and materials from ships i destroyed and gotten lots of money from selling ships I’ve taken over
Just about to start this game, what should I start with build wise. Super intimidated to start. @@Kristoker420 I just explorer, because that's my favorite part of the game but ended up doing lots of combat instead, lol. Bounty hunter is good too in my opinion. I think security is a good skill to get early there is a lot of lockpiccking that can get you bountiful rewards and powerful gear early in the game. The game is so flexible that any play style would get you a great experience. I'm. Now 20 hours in and still only few missions of the main quest line. Been just planet jumping and stealing pirate ships to seel them for credits.
Thank you for the practical thinking on the open space and loading screens. The people screaming “what do you mean there’s loading screens for a game that has 1000 fully generated planets?!?!?” Are so hyper focused on something that is not a practical scenario for a game right now
As far as ship building is concerned, no, you don't HAVE to start with a ship in order to customize one. You can start with a completely blank building area and build from the ground up or the top down. It's just that it takes a little bit of know-how on what parts you should probably start with and what parts need to be connected to other parts to make your ship. For example the relationship between the cockpit and the landing bay is important because if you screw that up you will get an error saying that characters cannot reach the cockpit from the landing bay. Also, you don't NEED to take care of the yellow errors on your ship. Those are optional errors essentially because you can make a ship with no weapons if you want, the game will just tell ask if you really want to continue without assigning weapons. If you want weapons you can assign just 1 group if you want of the same weapon type. For example if you just want 4 lasers instead of 2 lasers and 2 ballistic weapons you can put 4 lasers on your ship and assign them all to weapon 0 and leave the other 2 blank. The downside to custom ship building though is that what parts you have access to are limited not only by the skills you have and what tier they are, but also the ship port you are in and your character level. I think you have to be around character level 100 and tier 4 in each of the related skills to unlock all available parts at each different ship dock. Also, it's dumb, but you can't transfer parts between ships that you have purchased, so be careful about that. And, another thing, there are some ship parts you cannot buy directly from the port, they are only available if you bought or found the actual ship that has them, so I would recommend unlocking all the different story ships from the various quest lines, level up a bit and unlock the necessary skills before you get really deep into ship building. It's also much less expensive to customize your ship to upgrade it than it is to select the upgrade option or to buy an entirely new ship. Since the starting ship very quickly starts to lose it's viability in ship fights it's best to at least customize it a bit with different weapons, shields, reactor and grave drive than it starts with since you will have more options for changes for that in the ship builder than you will through the standard upgrade option. Especially since later on there are certain side missions you can take that require you to be able to take passengers and you will need to either swap out the existing hab on your ship or add another one to be able to take passengers.
3:03 “think carefully before making your choice”?? How am I supposed to think carefully about what could happened down the story line if I’ve never played it before? 😅
I was already having fun in the game, but what i just found kicked it up a notch. Spoilers? Start with random bounty, leave area move ship to kinda look around for materials. See someone land not too far from me, take their ship fly it back to ship yard, get pulled over by the cops, arrested and told i can work it off by infiltrating the gang…
Dude the same thing just happened to me, I destroyed a ship and took stuff because I want to try it and get back to the lodge and I get pulled over. Now it is time to take down a mega organization, this is awesome
Mass, not weight. They are different things and are not interchangeable. Thank you for reading my rant and thanks for the tips. I am loving Starfield so for except for the space part of the game. I have bought an xbox controller that is arriving tomorrow to see if space combat etc is any better with that. So much of the UI of this game was obviously designed with consoles in mind, so if you cant beat em, join em.
Bit disappointed the take-off portion isn't as fluid as No Man's Sky. Combat, both on the ground and in the air is fun. They've definitely improved on things since Fallout 4. I haven't crashed once either, and the frame rate is decent on medium settings.
The game is one giant loading from point to point. Nothing like No Man Sky which is better for immersion. However, Starfield has better combat, story, lore, and world building.
Hi hi, all ?? A question is it possible to pick up and salvage a direct modal "A" robot that I find in the field ?? ---- I see that (its) parts may be saved and put into ship storage
Just btw, you actually CAN build a ship from "nothing". You can do it completely from scratch. You just need to build it right with the necessary parts required for it to run and work, if you dont make it right warnings will pop up and show you what you need to fix
Step 1. Buy the best SSD you can. Step 2. Work on your patience and tolerance for loading screens and loss of character control. Step 3. Pretend that no games have evolved and done a better job at all of this for the last 2 decades

I hope companions mess everything up as per usual.
@@Nynja123TRT The latter, they're shoot(punch enemies across the room in vasco's case) first ask questions later type of companions.
Just drop all the gear on the floor. There unlimited storage.
Can you eventually get a freighter to store ships or do you only get one ship at a time?
You can have a whole fleet on ships
Great stuff boys!!! Just a couple hours left to wait!
So close!
Last shift tomorrow with early finish! Cannot wait to get started 🎉
What time zone are you in?
I'm 3 hours in on xboxone, streaming it. Runs smooth looks slightly better than fallout 4 but not as good as elden ring. It's very... Fallout 4 in space. A little all over the place with menues. A little dissapointed with the space flight aspect seeming to be just a fancy fast travel... Why can't I actually fly my dam ship! But all in all after only a few hours it's ooookkkk. Looking forward to it opening out into something bigger.
File not found should have been the blank slate that lets you pick 3 individual starter skills as opposed to a preset
Ive spent a couple hours in the game and genuinely wanted a good story. The constellation story already has me zoning out at work. This games gonna be a page turner
Constellation story is fine, but I actually find the other stories to be more engaging. Don’t be afraid to go off the beaten path
We need a good tutorial showing/explaining the HUD. I can't even find my health meter. lol I haven't died yet because I grab every health pack I can and eat them like candy.
I think you have a eating disorder and a sweet tooth! Better sign up for Obamacare! 😅
Also. It says. Open inventory. ,,,,,,,i can't find. The inventory. Either. What am i doing wrong. ??????
How do companion skills factor into gameplay? Can you send a companion to pick a lock, stealth kill an enemy, or craft stuff? Or do you need to do everything skillwise that you want to do?
Holy eff! Congrats on the sponsorship. Awesome to see how far you guys have come and witness all your efforts paying off 💚✨
I’m excited to play this game, thanks for the guide 👍
Have fun!
Thank you for the community. much love
I downloaded this game from Game Pass last night but bought the premium upgrade because I didn't want to wait until Wednesday to play. I'm just barely getting started but can't wait to get home from work so I can dive in and explore.
Still liking it?
@@Kristoker420it's abit of a letdown
Should just get a Xbox and get a friend's details with ultimate gamepass like I did 😂
With 2K24 & PL Cyberpunk 2007 dlc I’ve been busy grinding but now I finally have time to play & im loving it. But it’s a bit intense in the beginning, even lock picking was throwing me off but I figured it out after a couple of hours lol
I can releate man,I just got myself a series x and I'm downloading this game,Damn i feel like a kid lol
The fast travel is nice, but Im sure you can miss a lot of stuff doing that. I'll probably get back in my ship, go to space, and plot my course to my objective. You never know, you could have a epic encounter in space.
based on the other reviews I've watched, you cannot do that unfortunately
@@ndwhitlow I know you cant freely explore space and actually fly to that point, but I am saying just go back to space and plot the objective. Just going to space could trigger a encounter. Im not a fan of the idea to just fast travel between planets. LOL so i will add unnecessary steps hahaaa
I spent hours in the ship builder to have to scrap my creation but I love it.
I don't care about reviews. Fallout and Skyrim were outstanding! This will definitely have myself interested in space!
Side note bc Im a new player and one thing I noticed in my own playthrough is you miss a lot of fun interactions with other ships in space if you strictly fast travel. I’ve gotten lots of good gear and materials from ships i destroyed and gotten lots of money from selling ships I’ve taken over
I'm two hours in and I'm loving it. Your killing it with this content bro. Keep it up.
Just about to start this game, what should I start with build wise. Super intimidated to start. Thanks in advance man, recently injured my foot so Im ready to dig in to this on my series x, put a good weekend and week into this bad boy. But yeah, any tips? ( Robert Downey junior voice, tropic thunder)
The people screaming “what do you mean there’s loading screens for a game that has 1000 fully generated planets?!?!?” Are so hyper focused on something that is not a practical scenario for a game right now
I’ve been playing it for a while the loading screens aren’t that bad it’s like 3 seconds
Who knows maybe in a big update one day we might have space flight equal to that of no mans sky
This game has no immersion just friggin loading screens and menus
@@bloodyhellism😂 I can't take you seriously
I dont really mind the load screens, but the fact that the ship is basically a glorified teleporter is so lame
Do you have to board the ship to move items to it? No way to do it from outside it?
I need to know a list of keyboard keys that perform things like shift power options or put on helmet ect ect
"Bethesda - Muahaha here is the usual weight limit😈.
Modders- Limit? 🤔"
When you board a ship how do you get your ship back to the port or base, like now I have two ships and I can't drive them both so how does that work?
Wonder if outposts take damage from weather or can be raided by creatures or mercs 🤔
Pirates will attempt to raid you, yes
Do you get to pick new traits on NG+ ?
Great video, also you can repair ship any time by pressing r3
Just btw, you actually CAN build a ship from "nothing". You can do it completely from scratch. You just need to build it right with the necessary parts required for it to run and work, if you dont make it right warnings will pop up and show you what you need to fix
How do you navigate through the multiple ships and know which one is active?
Just started. Super confused. But ill get there. Video helped. Thanks
I don’t know about anyone else but, “I aim to misbehave”.
Naughty boy! 😮
Stay Shiny
Is there a way to rob a ship and strip it for parts or do i always have to sell the ones i dont want and build a new ship ?
It's like 1-2 sec load screens. Definitely don't mind them.
Can u have a ship in your ship?, like a fightership inside(anywhere) a mothership
Step 1. Buy the best SSD you can.
Step 2. Work on your patience and tolerance for loading screens and loss of character control.
Step 3. Pretend that no games have evolved and done a better job at all of this for the last 2 decades
Great vid. Thank you for the guide I'm starting the game just today
I will be playing on a PC. Should I start out with a Keyboard/Mouse or Controller for the best experience?
Hi, I'm having difficulty navigating on a Planet's Surface; I'm stuck in TAU Processing Facility. I can't find the computer to 'Tune the Radio Frequency' to Complete this Quest?? Thanks!
This was a super useful intro vid for me - many thanks😃
What’s the best way early on to make passive income and get cheap experience to level up fast?
Passive income is tough. I would say taking things and selling them at trade authority, but that still requires a decent amount of work
@@LegacyGamingUS for example fallout4 was able to produce purified water. And then could sell those, in addition there was bottle caps from having markets in settlements . Anything like this in Starfield?
I say easiest is do smash n grab at local vendors just like TUS do in local CVS and Walgreens in Los Angeles and NYC 😅
My game started with a character in some mining tunnels. How does this relate??
Can you get all skills at once then or is there a cap ?
Hows controller use on pc? Is it like cyber punk, just overly useless or is it calibrated for controller?
Small tidbit but you can equip items on companions in Fallout. So its not as obscure as you seemed to make it, brand new Bethesda players would need to know this though so it's still necessary to mention.
Great Video, do enemies repopulate when you return to planets or areas you have been? or is it a 1 time clear?
I believe it's one-time clear, but there are random encounters that will continue to create opportunities to fight.
Aw man, I hope enemies respawn :l They always have in past Bethesda games and I loved that the most about them. I only ever see permanent clears in games that follow D&D and cRPG rulesets because they're the furthest from action-RPGs
@@Nynja123TRT There's such an insane amount of locations to explore, it'll probably take months to clear everywhere.
@@TattleDelta I mean, it's more about clearing "dungeons" and expecting them to repopulate after 1 in-game week. If they don't, I'll be very disappointed in God Howard
@@Nynja123TRT What God Howard withholds, his modder minions shall provide. And i didnt see no busty bodies...
Can you tell I'm frustrated with the menu system already? There was no necessity to make it this so unintuitive.
As much hate as it gets Star Citizen really does have full manual point A to B ship piloting and the planets are land anywhere all with no loading screens.
I’m absolutely loving Starfield but it’s really making me appreciate how gigantic of a universe Star Citizen is.
Exactly this. We didnt expect this to ever compete with what Star Citizen has been building. Completely different animals. Makes you appreciate their tech.
How to use the ammo packs I have gathered
The biggest problem I have is being overwhelmed with choice at the very beginning. I have no idea if I should just follow the main quest and when to drift off to do my own thing.
can you reset skills?
I love your videos and I wanna ask, could you please do a review about those not-so-full-scale planetary explorations, when there are supposedly only 5-10km diameter bubbles and a next bubble does not connect to the previous one in terms of terrain, eg moutain continuing, but is independently created from the seed of the planet?
It's asking me to put a helmet on,,,, look in inventory. BUT where is my inventory. ??????😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕 ..... It says ( look in bottom right corner),,,, well i did. And. NOTHING. THERE. 😕😕😕😕😕????????....
I’ve found it’s very easy to sell the books with bonuses. Make sure you’re paying attention when selling books/notes.
Not sure if you keep the bonus either way, but I’m too paranoid to find out yet.
,,iv also did the walk through the space station. Pinching stuff here and there,,, and now. That Chinese guy wants me to open the door. ,,, iv got no idea HOW TO OPEN THE SPACE DOOR. Iv tried every thing. I'm stuck in a red room. Waiting to walk out of the room. But can't find the switch. 😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕
This game has been so awesome so far
I'm here to see if I've missed anything I should know lol I have like 15 hours or so into it so far and I don't see why people are talking bad about it
It's a new Bethesda world and it's awesome 😂
People play 11/10 games and then expect every single game to be that good. All games don't need to be the best thing you've ever played, but that's sadly become the general expectation lol.
@@LegacyGamingUSI honestly think it's the marketing. Some media outlets seem to hype games to extremes and when it can't meet the impossible goals it tanks.
I got starfield recently and so far I'm pretty impressed, the only thing I knew going into it was that it's in space. Some of the systems are a bit non intuitive but it won't take that long to get used to.
Am I understanding correctly that Eastern Time in the US will be able to play 90 minutes from now if we purchased the early access version? Midnight UTC September 1st is in an hour and a half
I’ve never played a game like this so I’m a little nervous but hope these vids help
Super informative video my dude. Wish I would have seen it prior to the early access for premium. But I learned so much, and I thank you.
With Kids trait can you model the appearance of your parents? Mine have both passed away already in real life and thought it'd be cool to put them into the game.
