He was getting a lot of hate (rightfully so imo) for sounding too bored and dispassionate in his videos and it was boring to listen to him as a viewer. I think he took that feedback to heart and is trying to be better which I greatly respect.
PSA here registering a ship costs like 10 or 12k but buying one costs like significantly more than that. And the 10k you spend to register it allows you to sell the ship most times you'll actually make a profit from the sell even though it's not gonna be making you filthy rich it can get you 10k in profit give or take if it's a nice enough ship.
I think registering a ship is tied to the ships value. From what I can tell, it costs something like 80-90% of the ships sell price to register it. So you only get like 1-2k credits from stealing a ship and selling it, where you could just blow the ship up and loot about that much in credits from the wreckage anyway
@@ViridianFlow I'll have to do some research, I'm sure there is some percentage increase for the value but I have a feeling it's not 80 or 90% cause even the ships I've seen registered so far have all been 10k or 12k and they sell for probably about 16 or 20k you can make 8-10 k from missions alone so I'm pretty sure its not a big jump to make 10k or more going through the trouble of finding and stealing a ship. You probably can't get the same out of sell price as you would spend buying one either though. Over all I just won't be surprised if some nice ships probably give a profit of 10 of more thousand
@@ViridianFlow and honestly considering the sell price is lower than the buy price and the registration is usually almost always lower than the sell price.. You're still saving money if you register a ship rather than buying that same ship from someone.
Useful Tip : Get to Commerce 3 as soon as possible. I managed it at L7 while getting the core skills unlocked (Rank1 in Stealth, Security, Piloting, Boost Pack, Targeting Systems). You'll get the certifications done fast and it has a major impact on all parts of the game. Selling loot, buying ships, getting starting ressources for your outpost AND getting registration cost to about 10-15% of the ship market value.
You can rename weapons (and probably armor) I named all my fave weapons with a 1,2 or 3, so they immediately are at the top of the inventory list, don’t have to scroll too much. Makes it harder to accidentally sell or lose.
I highly recommend doing the freestar collective ranger quest line. It gives such a good ship once you complete it. Great storage and weapons, it’s even better than some B class and C class and it’s only an A class.
Yeah but if you don't have the targeting skill you'll have to have sarah morgan to do it, it's the reason it's available on that mission because she's with you, if she's not with you and you don't have that skill you can't target the engines
After 20 hours I can safely say that I'm in love with this game! There is SO MUCH detail in everything, there's A LOT to do, I fell I barely scratched the game lore and mechanics. And very few bugs and just one crash on Xbox. This is it boys, we have a big W after so many disapointments in the last months. Let me get back to the game 🤩
I'm 11 hours in so far. 4 crashes today, but to be Fair, I've only been playing for 11 hours and On release for skyrim and fallout 4 on the pc. I crashed like, 15 times the 1st day. So 4 versus fifteen, and I've come across only 2 visual bugs and no other bugs. I'm saying the fast that did their thing on this. And before anybody says that's a lot. Boulders gate 3 crashed 7 times day one. And I have had an ungodly amount of bugs.
@maddogtank8425 bro I think something wrong with ur PC lol games shouldn't crash that much. I had starfield open on my pc for over 24 hours straight with no crashes or performance leaks
maybe one day bethesda will just announce a game and actually let fanbase code it on their own instead, this way it might actually work, they always get good ideas but are absolutely incapable of coding anything worth my attention, starfield looks, feels and literally is skyrim in space, even carrying objects around is the same aka levitating objects in fron of your character instead of just keeping it in your inventory or at actual hand... and this just goes on and on, its harder to spot any differences apart from story and models lol
@@nbodeh4658 What the absolute f are you talking about? The stuff in mods themselves are often a lot more shoddily crafted and lower quality than what Bethesda has done due to the fact that they have zero budget. The game itself is great, but sure keep worshipping modders.

Stealth and archery were fun in Morrowind and Oblivion too. Maybe not strong enough to form the de-facto build, but I remember playing characters who used Marksman and Stealth extensively in both.

Number 7 10:09. You can land at New Atlantis, Jemison, Alpha Centauri System. Then go to the wells. (Entry in bottom of lodge) then go to trade authority. You can sell the contraband and buy it back. It removes the tag. Your welcome.
That's good to know! I'm still very early in the game (about to leave New Atlantis with Sarah) and just have the basic starting ship. I took Hero Worshipped and got the annoying fan to join my crew and am currently using him as a human cargo module.
I really like the aesthetic they went with for this game. Guns looks cool, the architecture looks cool. The only thing I feel could use Improvement looks wise are the outfits.
Just fyi, you can go to the Wolf system which is to the right of the Sol system and sell contraband at the space station there without being scanned. And I REALLY struggled with inventory space so I just poured all of my creds into cargo on my ship. I'm up to 16k storage on it now 😂
I joined the crimson fleet way early, did most of the full faction storyline (didn't want to choose yet so put it on hold), but now when I progressed the main story, the fleet don't attack me anymore. It was hella easy doing the missions leading up to "into the unknown".

Same here. I'm on XSX. I spent my first 2-3 hours literally not even leaving the first planet lol. You know, the first planet the game tells you to go to in order to fight some pirate captain. I actually spared him and pursuaded him to stop fucking with me because of how easily I ran through his guys lol. But then afterward I flew around the planet and found some structures and just explored them, fought some dudes, looted some stuff. And like I said, I spent at least TWO HOURS just doing that before I even made it to the next mission objective.

Thank's for this video Gameranx! I very much appreciate the warning in number 3. In Mass Effect 1, I was desperately trying to save both companions and (ultimately) failed doing so. It's good to know in advance that something will happen at a certain point. This way, we can prepare for this moment. It might make the choice a bit easier, picking the companion we like less/doesn't offer much to the ship's capabilities. Stealing ships will become a good way to make some income. Capture a ship, then sell it (if you can). As long as the game generates infinite amounts of ships/ai, it's a good way to profit. "Yar yar fiddle dee dee, you are a pirate!"
Almost 14 hours playing and I have been familiarizing myself with all the game mechanics ... some Main missions but dedicating a lot of time to upgrade my ship, some exploration, but I can definitely sense that it will take a very long time to play this game especially when mods arrive. I started to use Console Commands today.
0:28 I like cheats in single player campaigns. They give replay ability to games. If I’m replaying a campaign for the 50th time and I’m bored because I’ve memorized the entire level, or I’m on that annoying boss fight (that’s not even hard, just really annoying) Than I use cheats to “toy with the AI” and that never gets old. I love the “Bandanna Skull” in halo. (infinite ammo) as a prim example.
You can join the crimson fleet in another way. Speaking to commander Tuala to enlist for the UC. You do the first few missions and after the scary alien encounter you get the option to go undercover in the crimson fleet. At least that's how I did it.
Another good tip. If you upgrade your outpost skill you can link them together and have all of the material sent to one spot. You can also have your base build items for you to sale. Its a good waybto get a constant cash flow going.
Useful tip: you can sell stolen items at the trade [something] place within the first hour of the game in new Atlantis down in the well you’ll see a big green sign for it. It doesn’t seem like a place you’d be able to sell stolen stuff but you can. And if you’re like me and steal everything that isn’t bolted down you can make like 10k credits a day or something like that selling stolen stuff.
you dont have to get caught to join crimson fleet... if you do UC questline you will be given an opportunity to go undercover from them without doing any crime.
i was doing their quests and then i got sidetracked and found contraband and then i got caught with it and then THATS how i was hired to go undercover for Usec, but i talked to a crimson fleet guy and now i might be secretly joining them now
I love, love, love this game. I bought the Premium Edition for my Series X and have roughly 5 hours in. So far I haven't had one single bug, no joke. The game looks incredible, plays buttery smooth, and is just a blast to play.
20 hours in, just finishing up building my 4th outpost to automate manufacturing the research items, have done pretty much nothing else but exploring random planets. This game is huge
It's of course subjective and a matter of personal taste, but I find the design of the ships and space suits / armor to be the opposite of aesthetically pleasing. It's hard to explain why, but they just aren't easy on the eye at all. The ships especially look oddly shaped and tattered. Still can't wait to play on the 6th tho!
If you want a more immersive experience i'd suggest never just going to missions and setting a course it's just a loading screen to your destination. I'd suggest tracking the mission > Going to your ship > Launching > looking for the tracker in orbit > Jumping > Getting up and walking out. You see a lot of cool animations you wouldn't otherwise see.
The console menu saved me in Morrowind and Oblivion so many times. I understand having it around so that people complain less about bugs in the pre release.
I had to laugh when you said stealth archery started in Skyrim. Tell that to my antique toon that stealth hunted Bull and Betty Netches all the time way back in Morrowind. Great tips for Starfield though.
It used to be that the gaming community was just a bunch of computer nerds and so the video game companies were under more critical eyes back then. Fast forward to today, when gaming has become so popularized and commercialized, the companies have become more profit focused and less product focused. The bean-counters and MBA's have taken over many industries and that includes the gaming industry. A little bit off topic, I know, but the truth has to be said ubiquitously. With that said, from every video I see, this game looks amazing.
I am biased towards a sort of Runescape school of thought about gaming, which is counter to thinking that graphics are all-important, and try to really see games for what they are, which is about gameplay and story.
I can't believe how many people missed it but if you get lost or on a planet looking for something use your scanner. It will show a path, like skyrim, and will show buildings caves, etc in the area.
In the Wolf galaxy there is a small starstation called “The Den”. It doesn’t scan you, the vendor is literally a 3 second walk from your docking station, and the vendor has more credits than 95% of other vendors at nearly 12,000 credits.
For my playthrough I chose to be a space trucker doing loads. It gives me the weight lifting is good. I think I get a ship perk to and I put some point into haggling and persuade.
After 8 hours of gameplay, my first impressions: 1. I love the character customization, I think it's really nice they placed so much focus on that 2. I love the accessibility, how you can choose the difficulty and the battles aren't very hard 3. One of my disappointments is the space travel, I have noticed you do not even travel, its just cut scene to cut scene and you're basically floating in a restricted space above a planet, you cannot move closer or away from the planet, you can try this yourself. I assumed the game would allow you to travel from planet to planet, literally, where you travel, and as you travel in manually, it loads, but you just take off, a cut scene leaving, and you're floating there in a zone where ships just spawn, and then a cut scene if you want to go anywhere else It seems like you don't fly anywhere, you jump in the ship, cut scene, pick a planet, cut scene, pick a landing spot, another cut scene, it's just cut scenes, and no flying, even Just Cause, GTA etc have more open World freedom 4. On the events, the producers etc said that you can travel and explore so many planets, technically that's correct, but in reality, anywhere means "any restricted zone" on the planet, and you can't even leave that zone walking, you'll be told to "return to ship", so there isn't exploration (some people are saying it's not an exploration game, I understand that, but the Devs and Producers were deceptive when they said you can travel and explore any planet, what they meant was completely something else) 5. The graphics are hit and miss, in space, they are fine, even on usual land they're not bad, but the characters look like they're from a PS2 game 6. Are we even travelling or loading different environments? 7. I love the community support and engagement, especially with the devs, I don't think many other studios have been this open with fans.
Dude what do you mean there’s no exploration? You literally have to sprint full speed in a straight line in 1 direction for nearly 20 minutes before it makes you return to your ship. Who the hell does that? I have yet to encounter this issue
The cut scene thing is just a fast travel feature. You most certainly could travel manually from one planet to the other and THEN click to land but that would take forever so they added the option for fast travel. Nothings stopping you, they just didn't wanna FORCE people to do it either
No mans sky gets old with the planet to planet landing and taking of so its nice to not do it in star field and if you wanna fly to a planet Elder scrolls 6 will be out by the time you get there
There's like cover mechanic similar to Fallout 4 where your character can peek out of cover when you aim your weapon. Hope this makes sense. I've tested this out and it works. On the corners and when crouched down a tall enough object.
To be fair with a name like "A High Price To Pay" one should assume its going to be a important mission 😆 great video guys, I must say after watching this I'm kinda wanting even more to play it, I guess it's not what we where expecting but it sounds like it has a lot of stuff I personally like 😊
sure - but the quest that STARTS a high price to pay, doesn't imply it's going to be severly prohibitive, or anything. i mean, part of the point was, no sudden moves leads directly to 'a high price to pay', with no way to leave, seemingly - so, you can't really go 'well from the sound of it, it's serious shit' since by the time you're there, it's too late...
Everything that you say isn't explained how to do it, There are quests and storylines that explain exactly how to do it. You just haven't scratched the surface of how deep the RP goes. There's a reddit post of a dude who spent the first 10hours in Neon, Got working for a Drug gang, Now works as supervisor at the drug production lab, and does smuggling runs to different planets. All prompted through quests. The RP in the game is so deep, You've just got to hang out somewhere, Listen in to NPC conversation, And then talk to them when you hear something you're interested in. BAM, You're sent down a questline for whatever role you want to follow. This game is awesome. I haven't even begun to explore the possibilities.
Had a weird bug where I couldn’t shoot any of my weapons. Exhausted all my options and was about to restart when I tried the console command that allows you to recreate your character. Saved my ass from a huge 6 hour restart.
Fly to ALL gas/ice giants in all systems and scan them. You’ll automatically 100% survey the whole planet since you can’t land on them. Also, if your on Mars and see a ship land nearby, run over to it and hijack it. I did this and acquired a ship called “Thresher” that was a HUGE upgrade from starter ship. Lastly, use the scanner whenever there’s NPC’s around, if they have a unique name go talk to them! 50% of the time they have a side quest/mission/activity for you.
I like this channel when it's Falcon speaking... he's the best. It's the speaking voice and character that I love. Good job man! As long as you're on here I'll watch!
The graphics in this game - especially the npcs - look more than 10 years old. It honestly seems like Bethesda is scared of getting out of their comfort zone to try something new. Maybe theyre trying to hold onto investors or something. But honestly, they basically just keep making the same game with a different skin over and over again. Might as well just call this game "Elders Fall - Out In Space"
Seriously!! You're not wrong. Kind of ironic and hilarious that the console commands for this game are the same as the commands for titles that they released decades ago.
Glad I watched this video after immediately getting caught stealing just after meeting the constellation group, I am now indeed a space pirate 😂😢 amazing quest tho, worth the future bounty I'm gonna collect
So far my only complaint with starfeild is the space combat if you’ve ever played elite dangerous it feels like an extremely watered down version of that
If you go to level 20 star and keep random landing around you can get lucky and find abandoned ships at outposts I found 2 ships so far only 7 hours in. just be careful tho if you go there at the beginning of the game the enemies will be around level 5 to 25
I'm 12 hrs in I'm a massive Bethesda fan but good God are they ever going to make a game where the combat feels amazing I think the shooting feels worse then fallout 4
Something I learned today is that if u have a cutter in your inventory. If u have your scanner active and are looking at minable ore. Your cutter will auto equip.

@@the_arcanum thanks for the tip I just got my piloting to 4 through the ship simulator, I'll pump some more into that, I already have it to 1 or 2
You can rename weapons (and probably armor) I named all my fave weapons with a 1,2 or 3, so they immediately are at the top of the inventory list, don’t have to scroll too much. Makes it harder to accidentally sell or lose.
You can also just add a - before the weapon name if you actually want to name them.
Wait what
I can honestly say starfield is god dang amazing and im loving every second of it

It's a good game I've seen a few bugs all ready, go in knowing it has flaws. One flaw is there isn't a map when your in the city.
@@exodore2000see, I love that. I think it's always weird in games to just have a wildly detailed map of places I've never been at all times lol
I highly recommend doing the freestar collective ranger quest line. It gives such a good ship once you complete it. Great storage and weapons, it’s even better than some B class and C class and it’s only an A class.
Is it the Star Eagle?
There's actually a early quest around level 8 where you learn how to disable a ship and board them
Yeah, just follow the main quest. I think I reach it around level 4 or 5
Yeah but if you don't have the targeting skill you'll have to have sarah morgan to do it, it's the reason it's available on that mission because she's with you, if she's not with you and you don't have that skill you can't target the engines

@@yunsha9986 you can't make this ship for say yours but they teach you how to disable it and board it

😂😂😂😂
I'm 11 hours in so far. 4 crashes today, but to be Fair, I've only been playing for 11 hours and On release for skyrim and fallout 4 on the pc. I crashed like, 15 times the 1st day. So 4 versus fifteen, and I've come across only 2 visual bugs and no other bugs. I'm saying the fast that did their thing on this. And before anybody says that's a lot. Boulders gate 3 crashed 7 times day one. And I have had an ungodly amount of bugs.

Trash game
@maddogtank8425 bro I think something wrong with ur PC lol games shouldn't crash that much. I had starfield open on my pc for over 24 hours straight with no crashes or performance leaks
I can't wait to see what the community does with this game in a year or two from now
if skyrim is what we have to go on, not alot.
maybe one day bethesda will just announce a game and actually let fanbase code it on their own instead, this way it might actually work, they always get good ideas but are absolutely incapable of coding anything worth my attention, starfield looks, feels and literally is skyrim in space, even carrying objects around is the same aka levitating objects in fron of your character instead of just keeping it in your inventory or at actual hand... and this just goes on and on, its harder to spot any differences apart from story and models lol

Stealth and archery were fun in Morrowind and Oblivion too. Maybe not strong enough to form the de-facto build, but I remember playing characters who used Marksman and Stealth extensively in both.

I recommend to use the console commands and once mods are available, you would like to play with them. This game will have thousands of mods that will enhance it and make it to be played forever. I played for like 6hrs last night and only did 1 mission. I was exploring a new planet.. i can easily see me spending 500-1000hrs in this game. Its massive. 4-5yrs ago i heard someone call it "fallout in space" i love fallout, and this game does not disappoint. Need to fix the pick up objects delay tho.
Lol Thad is terrible you spent 6 hours doing some mining missions from a 1990 mmo.
Number 7 10:09. You can land at New Atlantis, Jemison, Alpha Centauri System. Then go to the wells. (Entry in bottom of lodge) then go to trade authority. You can sell the contraband and buy it back. It removes the tag. Your welcome.
you can also get your lost contraband back from the chest in the security room of the planet wherever you lost it
this is AWESOME
Ong I stole that shit back lmao
The lodge has 2 boxes with unlimited capacity, one in your room and one in the room just beyond all the crafting stations on a table
Where is my room in the lodge?
That's good to know! I'm still very early in the game (about to leave New Atlantis with Sarah) and just have the basic starting ship. I took Hero Worshipped and got the annoying fan to join my crew and am currently using him as a human cargo module.
I like that Gameranx is the only outlet telling you that you can retrieve your old equipment in NG+, but they don't tell you how.
I really like the aesthetic they went with for this game. Guns looks cool, the architecture looks cool. The only thing I feel could use Improvement looks wise are the outfits.
I agree. All around, everything looks really cool.
Love how Falcon is enjoying himself more and more with each video 😂😂😂
for joining the crimson fleet, you can also join the vanguard at the MAST in New Atlantis and that's another way into the undercover missions
I'm only 4 hours in, barely scratched the surface. So far I'm loving starfield it's a ton of fun and I've already found myself getting sidetracked on side missions and exploring I can't wait to see what else is out there. The graphics are beautiful, and I've had no bugs yet on my PC.
Same here.
I'm nervous that my gaming laptop might not be strong enough for it. Just the moving grass was impressive compared to Fallout 4.
@@Zathren idk what your GPU is in your laptop, but I'm running on max settings with no issues on a 3080ti so you don't need 40 series to that. Number 6: Here are the skills that you need.
All of them. You need all the skills.

Been playing for about 10 hours. I have no idea what I’m doing.
You won't, for another 10 hours or so 😂
This game is incredibly fun. About 13 hours in, and i feel like I've barely done anything.
The very first spacesuit I found had the invisibility mod, it’s amazing

Almost 14 hours playing and I have been familiarizing myself with all the game mechanics ... some Main missions but dedicating a lot of time to upgrade my ship, some exploration, but I can definitely sense that it will take a very long time to play this game especially when mods arrive. You can join the crimson fleet in another way. Speaking to commander Tuala to enlist for the UC. You do the first few missions and after the scary alien encounter you get the option to go undercover in the crimson fleet. At least that's how I did it.
Thank you falcon for making me complete into the unknown quest. I was doing everything but the main story I appreciate it.👍
Boost pack training should be the first skill you unlock first before anything else. And you only need rank 1 for it.
I foresee SSV Normandy and Pillar of Autumn Ship mod coming out soon
I desire to download Darth Maul's The Scimitar starship

you dont have to get caught to join crimson fleet... if you do UC questline you will be given an opportunity to go undercover from them without doing any crime.
Where's the fun in that?
i was doing their quests and then i got sidetracked and found contraband and then i got caught with it and then THATS how i was hired to go undercover for Usec, but i talked to a crimson fleet guy and now i might be secretly joining them now

20 hours in, just finishing up building my 4th outpost to automate manufacturing the research items, have done pretty much nothing else but exploring random planets. This game is huge
Wow, those tips were ACTUALLY helpful. A tiny bit spoiler-y but understandable given the context and I rather know than not know. Thanks a lot.
I think your commentary is probably my favorite part of these videos 🤣
If you want a more immersive experience i'd suggest never just going to missions and setting a course it's just a loading screen to your destination. I'd suggest tracking the mission > Going to your ship > Launching > looking for the tracker in orbit > Jumping > Getting up and walking out. You see a lot of cool animations you wouldn't otherwise see.
That sounds tedious af
lol, the ship flight experience in this game should have just been left out.
@@I_enjoy_some_things Let's leave out ship flight in a space game. That's some smooth brain thinking right there.

For #7 you can also just build your own landing platform at an outpost and just add the shielded storage that way.
More cost effective to do to Red Line.
How timely that I watched this while in the middle of the No Sudden Moves mission
After 8 hours of gameplay, my first impressions:
1. I love the character customization, I think it's really nice they placed so much focus on that
2. I love the accessibility, how you can choose the difficulty and the battles aren't very hard
3. One of my disappointments is the space travel, I have noticed you do not even travel, its just cut scene to cut scene and you're basically floating in a restricted space above a planet, you cannot move closer or away from the planet, you can try this yourself.
I assumed the game would allow you to travel from planet to planet, literally, where you travel, and as you travel in manually, it loads, but you just take off, a cut scene leaving, and you're floating there in a zone where ships just spawn, and then a cut scene if you want to go anywhere else
It seems like you don't fly anywhere, you jump in the ship, cut scene, pick a planet, cut scene, pick a landing spot, another cut scene, it's just cut scenes, and no flying, even Just Cause, GTA etc have more open World freedom
4. On the events, the producers etc said that you can travel and explore so many planets, technically that's correct, but in reality, anywhere means "any restricted zone" on the planet, and you can't even leave that zone walking, you'll be told to "return to ship", so there isn't exploration (some people are saying it's not an exploration game, I understand that, but the Devs and Producers were deceptive when they said you can travel and explore any planet, what they meant was completely something else)
5. The graphics are hit and miss, in space, they are fine, even on usual land they're not bad, but the characters look like they're from a PS2 game
Isn't exploration? Sure, move your ship carry on. Because it isn't exactly like you want doesn't mean it don't exist at all
@@cleab9956wait so I could just use my engines to travel from one planet to another instead fast traveling?
Damn, sounds so Dope! Can't wait to sink hours into this game.
Had a weird bug where I couldn’t shoot any of my weapons. Exhausted all my options and was about to restart when I tried the console command that allows you to recreate your character. Saved my ass from a huge 6 hour restart.
@Onionblast1000 Like ShowRaceMenu in Skyrim or showlooksmenu in Fallout 4?
Fly to ALL gas/ice giants in all systems and scan them. You’ll automatically 100% survey the whole planet since you can’t land on them. Also, if your on Mars and see a ship land nearby, run over to it and hijack it. I did this and acquired a ship called “Thresher” that was a HUGE upgrade from starter ship. Lastly, use the scanner whenever there’s NPC’s around, if they have a unique name go talk to them! 50% of the time they have a side quest/mission/activity for you.
That level 69 joke got me good 😂
The fact that the game is running on an updated engine from 15 years ago is a big explanation why it feels dated. Imo
